I can't help it, the daffodils and hyacinths pop through and I'm off to the races. I grew up in Union City with Wasson's as our go-to nursery. I had fun taking my kiddos this past weekend to see what we bushes and annuals we could find to finish off our landscaping. We were a little too early for some of the items but found some strata and eyed some purchases for down the road. The greenhouses are such a fun escape- even on a rainy day. My hey offer trees, bird baths, hanging baskets, vegetables, seeds, bushes, mulch and more. They also offer landscaping design services. Inside the shop they offered a sweet little Earth Day "Craft" for kids to plant their own seeds in a compostable container (a cake cone- clever!). Ours is already in the garden and we can't wait to see what comes of it. Overall, a lovely and nostalgic visit for our crew.

The business is part of a vertically integrated landscaping concern run by an over-educated gentleman named Dean, although the nursery is run by a friendly and knowledgeable manager named Kim. She is a font of ideas and suggestions, and if you bring photos of your garden and house she is more than willing to get you going. This is about as non-corporate as it gets, and the selection is way more diverse than the big box stores. The shrubs are grown and tended with care, and are guaranteed healthy--you can replace anything that doesn't survive. If you want great service with a personal touch, you can't go wrong here. We have purchased MANY trees over the years from Browns and other local nurseries, but our latest…read moreexperience at Browns has not been good. A tree we purchased 10 months ago has not been doing well. It has been properly planted and cared for-even "babied" along-and still not doing well. We are not at all new to tree planting or basic knowledge, so to have this kind of issue is very very rare for us. We have inquired back with Browns 3 times now as to what we can do to help this tree make it, and have gotten zero help or answers this far. We are getting the feeling that they are just waiting for our 1 year from purchase guarantee to pass by so that they can skip their commitment. We do not necessarily want the tree to be replaced, we want their input to know to make this tree thrive better and we are not getting it. Our next tree/shrubs may be coming from someplace else. Update from initial paragraphs above... absolutely zero "customer service" for the tree, and our time ran out. We had to cut it down. $300+ in the burn pile. I very rarely give a business this kind of review, but I honestly feel that this was warranted. We played by all of their retune/customer purchase rules and guidelines, and they did nothing.

Buying plants from Doris means that they are going to be strong and hearty. If plants can out perform each others, hedge your bets on these blooms! They always last me well into the fall and can handle some forgotten watering (whoops). Sunny Lawn is about an hour away from my home, but a non-profit I am involved in has worked with them for over ten years for the spring fundraiser. We make the trip with trucks to pickup flowers to bring them back because the quality is something we have become known for with the spring flower sale and that is because of Doris. In addition to buying from the fundraiser, I know try and make my own little trip to see her gorgeous blooms and fill my yard. Shoutout for her perennials as well, my coneflowers and salvia from last year are exploding in this year's flower bed in the best way!

I had set 2 down on a table up by register wall and when I was done I got them and placed on the counter. The gentleman walked away didn't say anything but he grabbed a box top for I assume the plants. As he gets back a lady comes who I assume is a regular places her plant while I'm standing there with my wallet, he starts speaking to her and they hold a conversation and he moves the payment tap near her as I look I was thinking this entire time he was ringing me up but she pays they finish their conversation as she leaves he then gets the lid he originally grabbed and at that time I pick up the plants he sighs and says " still shopping" I said no not at all I place them back in their places and left. I'm huge in customer service now I won't make a fuss but I will politely leave and never return.
