The service dept scheduled my car for an appointment. when I got there they said I didn't have one that day but it was the day before . Impossible because the time they said it was I was calling them on the phone to schedule . I of course had the call history on my phone . They wouldn't even look at it.The man Dan even told me that he would check if I was able to have a tire rotation and oil change free when I got there tomorrow . If It was my mistake I would have been thankful they could fit me in. They told me to leave the car . I live an hour away and work an hour from the dealership . I asked for a loaner car and they didn't have one . Instead of taking my car in immediately and changing my tire which only would take mins they made me wait 3 hours ! The appointment finally comes around, I drove in only to be told that they do not service electric vehicles. When I asked why they didn't tell me that when I made the appointment they said it was my fault for making the appointment online. I had called to verify the appointment and make sure that they could do both the recall and the mileage based service in the same visit, and was told that it would be no problem. My name is Marzinete Pilch. I have been a Hyundai customer since 2004. When I bought my new Santa Fe in 2004 and 2015, I purchased Tucson from the exact Hyundai in Dickson City. In May 2022, I went to Hyundai in Dickson City to check my Tucson due to a recall I had. I decided to go to the sales department and asked if there was a Palisade, and the salesman, Vinicius Santos, showed me the only vehicle available in the store. I liked it and decided to buy it. I asked what model it was, and he told me it was an average model because the basic one wasn't available in their store. I trusted the salesman; after all, I had already bought two cars from Hyundai and felt confident. During the negotiation, he told me that the car cost $44,015.00, and there was no MSRP paper on the car window, as was usual. I thought the price was high, but I trusted the seller because I've been a Hyundai customer for almost two decades. I wouldn't imagine Hyundai would use bad faith with a loyal customer like me. 2 months after purchasing my car, I went to clean it and found the MSRP paper from my car with a value of $36,815.00 hidden inside the car under the seat. I was super upset. I called the seller and questioned the car's value, but he never answered. At that moment, I went online and found that my car was the basic model, "Palisade SE AWD". To this day, I still feel like an idiot who trusted a salesperson who wasn't transparent with me, and neither was the manager present. I wonder: Why lie? Deceiving a customer to that extent. What sales technique is Hyundai using? I know this review doesn't make any difference to them because the sale has already been completed. But I believe I was not the only one to be deceived by Dickson City Hyundai. The bad character of this salesperson and the store is unbelievable that someone could do such a scam with a customer of two decades with excellent credit. I feel shaken, and when I think about this purchase, I can't even sleep. I thought I was making a good purchase. I'm a foster mother, and I bought this car to accommodate my foster children better. I was very innocent in trusting this seller, who had no ethics or descent. The Dickson City Hyundai store lost a great customer, which doesn't matter to them because they keep doing the same thing. I was there last week due to my lease maturing in October therefore I was looking to trade in my vehicle to purchase a new one. 1st off, I went with the intention of purchasing a used EV Tesla from another dealership and requested a print out of my buy out quote just to get the run around from the manager Billie. The sales rep Greg was professional and tried to help us out the best way he could, however his manager was the complete opposite. He was condescending, lying to us, and pressuring us to purchase another Hyundai when I clearly advised my intentions when I 1st walked in. He advised that no other dealership can purchase my Hyundai other then Hyundai or Kia (sister company) which was clearly a lie because when I called Hyundai corporate (customer service) they advise that ANY DEALERSHIP can purchase the lease. All that matters was that it was getting paid in full. I was under the impression that dealerships are there to help their customers, not just for a check or to rip people off and I learned that this is not the case when it comes to Dickson City Hyundai. I wouldn't recommend them to any friends or family because of the horrible experience I had although I've been a loyal customer for the past 3 years. If you have warranty service they will NOT honor it. WORSE place I have EVER dealt with, my car went in for inspection in May 2022 and I told them I heard a noise which was a part for the wheel hub. Yes first question is it covered under warranty " yes mam it is covered" I was assured by the service manager and by the man whom order the part that is was covered under warranty. Yes then I waited and waited and finally months later the parts came in and I asked "it is covered under warranty correct because I was assured it was and yes the same answer yes it is covered they were finally able to get me in, in November. SURPRISE "no it's not covered but was assured I would be reimbursed by the corporate office- NO I am still waiting to be reimbursed! Corporate keeps closing my case and now Dickson City won't even call back. Wife needed a reliable vehicle. 2019 kona with 12k is what we bought. WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH THAT. After a bit of haggling we got the car. Was told to bring it into the shop for emissions sticker. Ok no problem. Loaner will be ready. Well that was wrong. We get there and an hour later the loaner is finally ready. Not that they didn't know we needed one a week ago. So maybe one day. Nope there was a dent in the under frame. It needs parts. Well that was never told to us. A week and a half later all fixed. We wanted answers. All we go it finger pointing as to who didn't do what. The manager gave us a feeling like we should be thanking them for fixing it for free. Then the other option to trade it in for another vechicle. The best was the manager stating that when they take a used vehicle in the walk around it, turn it on to see if any lights are on, and then test drive it. Best line how can we see the undercarriage? We did not get any compensation for the non information of the vehicle not even being checked. A little off the loan or maybe pay for the warrenty really hurt the dealership? But the attitude was take it or leave it. So be aware of there vehicles. Not all the information will be given to you. The car is great but the dealership left us with a shady feeling. read more

This Consumer looked inside the Venue liked how comfortable it was as well as the style more like a car not an SUV. This Consumer brought with screenshots from DCH Website vehicle interested in: VIN, Stock #, MSRP $23,825.00. Window Sticker MSRP $21,900.00 Total Price $23,900.00 (not $26,900.00) Under Details? $500 Trade In Bonus Hyundai was honoring $500 Military Bonus New 2024 Hyundai Venue! Consumer kept in mind:Trade In Value, Payoff Trade In, Bonuses totaling $3,500.00, affordability of Total Price $23,900.00 (MSRP $21,900.00). This Consumer was NEVER given an opportunity to "Negotiate" anything from Trade In Value, Purchase Price, etc. This Consumer said "NO". SC was told APR 7.47% not 7.75% (later discovered at home) with $2,000.00 Down Payment would bring monthly payment down only $54.00. SC NEVER disclosed REAL Finance Terms: APR, Monthly Payment, Terms of Payment. Finance Mgr scrolled down, pointed & said "Sign & Initial" here and vice versa. Then he swiped to the right again "Sign Here & Initial There". When finished Finance Mgr gave me a white envelope with copies. Throughout the "Sign & Drive" process, the Finance Mgr NEVER disclosed, explained or allowed this Consumer to ask questions or read over the docs before signing them. This process took approx 15 min if that. Finance Mgr said "Congratulations" and escorted this Consumer out of his office. The SC was waiting outside near new vehicle w/keys in hand. SC NEVER showed this Consumer how to operate any part of the new vehicle. As this Consumer drove off the dealership lot noticed the odometer was 103 but why? It arrived 2 days prior and put in Showroom. (Never Disclosed). When this Consumer arrived home reaching into the glove compartment to get the Quick Ref Guide to review noticing between the Quick Ref Guide & Owner's Manual DCH Dealers Sticker listing add-ons totaling $2,995.00. (Never Disclosed) This Consumer thought what else didn't DCH Employees disclose. To much dismay, when this Consumer opened the white envelope to read over the copies, Consumer was devastated beyond words. This Consumer immediately contacted DCH noting that it was Saturday &, they closed at 5 pm. This Consumer immediately started writing emails to all parties to resolve all of the discrepancies shown on Vehicle Purchase & Simple Finance Charge docs. These unfortunate monetary discrepancies cost ascertainable thousands of dollars personal, real injury to this Consumer. Hyundai Shopper Assurance offers "3-Day Worry Free". I purchased a brand new Tuscon in September of 2023. I traded in a Dodge Ram. After looking at several vehicles, my husband and I were interested in the new Tuscon. We were told that it was an SEL so it had the works: heated seats, and a heated steering wheel among other things. It does NOT have a heated steering wheel, but that is not the reason for t his one-star review. The main feature the car had to have for me to consider buying it was the ability to transport my kayak without having to put it on the roof rack as I am not strong enough and I go kayaking alone. The salesman took us out to the vehicle specifically to show me how I could transport it in the vehicle. He opened the powerlifting gate, put his arm under it, and then closed it. When it lowered and hit his arm, it stopped. He said I'd have to bungee it from the inside so it couldn't slip out the back, but the gate would keep pressure on it and it could be transported that way. Great! I bought the car. When I attempted to transport it that way, this happened. I got it loaded just fine. The gate stopped, I bungeed it inside. However, when I put the car in drive to leave, it began beeping. Everything seemed fine, so I pulled away. The beeping soon became an incessant ringing, while it continued to beep. Then the dash board began flashing red. It might have appeared to an outsider that I was trying to steal the vehicle it was m making so much noise. I turned and went back home. I called them only to learn you can not operate the vehicle with the power lift gate open. I was told there is no way to bypass the beeping and ringing as it is a safety mechanism. Nice. I was also told my sale salesman wouldn't have deliberately lied to me. Please. I've worked in the business and have known/dated the slimiest of them all. Yes, they will lie, and then swear, "That's not what I said." Now, I am stuck with a vehicle I can't use for its intended purpose. As I age I'm not getting any stronger, so lifting it onto the roof rack isn't an option. Their solution: come in and we'll give you a deal on a Santa Cruz. Yes, I want to be upside down in a car payment and end up with a vehicle I didn't like the first day I was there. Awful place!!! These ppl do everything so slow. It took me all day long to buy out my lease, and they quoted me at 70 dollars more monthly than was correct for my residual. They only noticed their mistake after I argued with them for 20 minutes. If I hadn't pointed it out I wouldve paid 70 dollars more monthly for the next 6 years! Then, they said theyd detail my car as a courtesy for buying out my lease and they gave me it back dirtier than it was when it went in they got wax all over my windshield and didnt even wipe the dust off the inside. (Please keep in mind I purchased my 2019 Hyundai Tucson from this Dickson City Hyundai dealership.) In the past I was told vehicle service could only be done with a scheduled appointment, even something as simple as an oil change. Should have been a hint to a poor service department I guess. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to have my vehicle inspected in March because I could not just drop it off for my scheduled appointment (I live an hour away from the dealership). I immediately rescheduled a month out for 4/25/20, with hope that this pandemic might take a turn for the better. Right up until 4/22/20 I continued to receive text reminders that I had an upcoming appointment scheduled. Today (Friday 4/24/20) I received a phone call at 12pm, telling me that Dickson City Hyundai had chosen to not work on Saturdays and they wanted me to reschedule my appointment. My question is "What the heck?!" My wife and I are both working around "ESSENTIAL" work schedules a month at a time and they give us a days notice that they don't want to work on a day that they normally would have because of a management decision. We can 't even get ONE day off without having to constantly answer phone calls from one of our jobs. If it's not abundantly clear, I WILL NEVER TO BUSINESS OR RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO ANYONE EVER!!! Never ever leave a non-refundable deposit with this place, which was against my better judgment but I was assured I was getting such an amazing deal and would love the vehicle. When I went back to see if I even liked the vehicle and finalize the sale (I never was able to test drive that trim model), the Salesman was condescending and rude and couldn't even remember what I was going to pay for the car quoting a totally different price and saying I got such a great deal, when in actuality I was going to be paying $5,000 more. When that happened, I knew I had been taken advantage of and declined to purchase the vehicle, losing my deposit. What a scam. And on top of all of that, this disgusting human being, who made me walk outside in a dress and heels in the rain and didn't have the decency to offer me an umbrella, when I said thanks for giving me an umbrella, he replied "you're welcome". DO NOT GET YOUR CAR INSPECTED HERE! I had a 100k checkup at a place in NJ I have been going to for 10 years and had everything checked out and fixed so the following week I could get my car inspected. I went to Dickson city Hyundai because they do a free safety inspection and when they were done with the inspection, they failed me and said I needed work done on several things. They said I needed a new shock in the back left and should get the back right done at the same time, needed new filters because they were very dirty, needed an oil change, and two new tires. I called the shop in NJ and he saw me the next day to check everything out and my car was perfectly fine. I had about 300 miles since my last oil change so that was not needed, he also cleaned my air filters so I had at least another 10k miles with them, my shock was dirty not leaking so I didn't have to replace them, and my tires he didn't even think they needed to be rotated and they only have 15k on them. The free inspection brought me in but I will never go here again. I have a 2011 Hyundai and was just about to start to look for another car and I will drive to the next closest Hyundai dealership before going back to this place for anything. read more

Yet another lengthy service appointment at this dealership with poor service. This was a fairly straightforward appointment. After waiting nearly 2 hours, I checked with the front desk only to be told that the vehicle had just been taken in to be serviced. The receptionist was friendly but advised me that they were "backed up". She stated that it would be about 20 more minutes which was a lie as my vehicle finally was ready after another hour and a half. This has happened several different times over the course of the last two years. I have no intention of ever coming back and will have my vehicle serviced at another local dealership where they actually value/respect their customers. If you are serious about purchasing a Hyundai product (and I recommend them with no reservations) no matter how many miles you have to drive to find another dealer it will be worth it to avoid the car buying hell that is the Dickson City Hyundai car buying experience. Every cliched "tactic" associated with a bad car shopping experience is part of their approach to the customer. None of the used cars have prices displayed and all the new cars have dealer added pricing that increases the M.S.R.P. by almost $2,000! This exaggerated price point is where the dealers sales manager will insist on starting the sales negotiation. You may or may not ever meet a sales manager during your price negotiation, they will remain sequestered behind one way glass in another adjacent room. All figures will be controlled by this mysterious entity, your salesperson will shuttle back and forth ad infinitum depending how compliant you are...how willing you are to see the price slowly with each trip by your salesperson creep down toward the original full sticker price of the vehicle! This process can literally go on for hours. You may finally end up with a reasonable selling price on the new vehicle but it will NOT be quick or easy. Have a trade-in...add at least another hour to the process. And if you finally reach an agreement expect to be told you're expected to take immediate delivery of the vehicle...even though none of the vehicles are cleaned, gassed and ready for delivery. You'll be advised that the delivery prep can be done while you wait (and wait, and wait) to see the "business manager" who will execute the state, dealership and bank documents. You will be told it may take another 45 minutes or less for all this to take place...expect to be told they're "almost" ready at least 2 or 3 times during the next two hours or so before you actually get into the business office. By the time this experience is over you'll have taken delivery of a good product. But the process that Dickson City Hyundai will force you to endure is like something out of a Seinfeld show, less the humor. Very nice. I didn't feel crowded by any means. We came in with a set payment and a trade and left happy with both. We did however end up buying used. But it was a 2014. Above review was 8/2014 When we bought the car we were told we would get the extended warranty with our purchase even though it was a second owner vehicle. The salesperson told us if that is what he needed to close the deal and that is what we would have. Later down the road after it accumulated many miles and had a few problems that we're not warranty related but I stopped in to get parts. While I was there I asked them about my extended warranty and what kind of things that would cover and they reciprocated with, " your vehicle is no longer under warranty after 60,000 miles because you are a second owner" even asking them to check again and do some research they still came back with the same answer. 12/2015 on my travels I was headed south and my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe motor blew. I had triple A but they could only get me as far as Hamburg Pennsylvania to a Hyundai certified dealer due to my mileage coverage being only 100 miles. Freeman Hyundai looked up my warranty and I was still covered to 100,000 miles. They called Hyundai in Dickson city to verify and they did verify that my warranty was valid. So it seems Hyundai in Dickson city lied to me about my warranty. I will not be going back again and I am retracting my 4 stars and knocking it down to two. If I decide to get another Hyundai, which I love my Santa Fe, I will be traveling all the way to Hamburg Pennsylvania to Freeman Hyundai. I have also went to Hyundai for a tire replacement because they are the only ones that sold the brand of tire that was on my vehicle at the time. Everything went fine with the tire replacement but I'm sure there was $20 in the sunglass holder when it went in to get a tire changed and when it came out it was no longer there. Purchased a 2015 Ford Escape in April, this year, trading in our Honda Pilot, with 194,000 miies. Explained what we needed and can afford, and they came through for us. Lower payments than what we had on trade-in, $4,000 over KBB on trade in. Even our auto insur rates dropped when replaced trade-in with the newer car. Really happy with our 2015 Ford Escape. Recently picked up nail on a tire. Visited maintenance shop at the dealership yesterday. Had a nail in tire, in spot that prevented good patch. They replaced the tire with a brand new tire, under road hazard warranty. This was my second tire problem. Previously picked up screw in another tire, which had same result--brand new tire. In addition, had scraped a curb with driver front tire, damaging it. They also replaced that tire with a new one, again under road hazard warranty. Warranty included with purchase of car. The service department staff treated us with utmost empathy and clearly communicated the situation and what was done to fix it. Very personal and friendly staff. Plan on taking our business to this shop, even if it is almost thirty miles from home, and pass multiple shops on way, including a very good shop just a few miles away. Worth the trip, especially since we have two more free maintenance offers to use. BTW, our car salesman, Greg Bertholf, with was awesome. I was about to make a third purchase from Dickson city Hyundai when I changed my mind about buying this vehicle because the payments were very high and the interest rate was very high on the vehicle. while I was visiting . A fight ensued between two customers and a sales manager and he was being extremely unprofessional to these people . A verbal argument ensued. they were trying to explain their situation to him and he was being very irate and his voice got extremely loud and was being extremely disrespectful so I ended up leaving without a purchase. Had an appointment for an oil change and state inspection. Made the 3 hour round trip haul and waited about an hour and a half only to find out they did not do the oil change. I was told by the receptionist she put it in the work order and would have to wait an additional few hours because they are backed up. Will not be returning for service here. read more

Below is my email sent to the service manager. I do not recommend service at this location. I received a call the other day from your service department in reference to my visit on July 26th, 2015. I am unsure if this call was directly from you or another associate. I moved to the area about a year and a half ago and utilize my 2009 Hyundai Accent GLS for work. I come in for full-synthetic oil change about every three months. I have had my timing belt replaced at Dickson City, and on my last visit my a/c, power steering, alternator/water pump belts changed. I have always been satisfied with the ability to make fast appointments and from time to time come in without one. Unfortunately a few of my visits have me question the service end of my experiences. Recommendations for work to be done have been inconsistent, fluids have not been topped off, multipoint inspections and have lacked in service recommendations. Small things as not replacing my tire valve caps, telling me I need a filter replaced when I have done so already, to bigger things, as telling me my serpentine belt needs replacement when my car does not even have one. Most upsetting, during my last visit 6/26/15 I reported noise from my steering wheel with knowledge from my own inspection that some of my belts had heavy cracking. I stated that with the last belt replacements I noticed this noise at 64,000mi and now at 112,000mi the noise had increased. I was told initially that I would have to pay $90/hr for a tech to diagnosis the issue. I was very upset as my car just had an oil changed in May and obviously the tech then did not check my belts, as if they did they would have recommended they be changed. I then was ensured I would only be charged for labor work after going up to the service desk and addressing my concern. When I left my visit the service department was about to close, and when I turned my wheel and I realize the noise I reported was still present. I went back in and reported this to the young lady. She stated she would have the tech call me the next day. I did not receive a call. Overall I am extremely displeased. I work and go to school full time, so my time is limited in making several trips or not having my car as it is used for work. I appreciate good quality service and even more so at a place that can work with me around my schedule. I have found with the inconsistency at Dickson City Hyundai that this is not the place for me. Therefore I will seek elsewhere for the upkeep and maintenance of my Hyundai. Thank you for your attention to this email. Where the hell do I begin. Go to any other dealer. Their customer service is the worst I have ever seen Bought a car here last week. The car only had one key fob. They said the spare was locked in another salesman's desk. It wasn't. After several phone calls on hold forever and no one wanting to help by Friday I had no patience left. Finally they ordered a new spare key but it needed to be programmed. So I had to drive 40 minutes to get it done. I had a tight schedule and I wanted to come in early but because they were busy I had to come in the muddle if the damn afternoon. No accommodation nothing for something they screwed up. This was the third vehicle we have purchased from this dealer. First purchase was great, no problems at all. Second one not so fun, this last one was horrible. Took delivery of a 2017 Tucson Sport on Jan 6, still haven't gotten the plates. The things promised to me from the Internet Sales Manager were shrugged off by the sales staff. I cannot get a hold of anyone through the phone or email. I have sent 4. No plates a month and some change later with a frantic call from them telling me they cant send the plates without insurance proof. I called to get them what they need and as usual, no answer and no return call. I chose this dealer because of what was promised me instead of going to Hazleton Hyundai which is 12 miles away not 50. First of all, the managers here are nuts. I went in today wanting to buy a 2015 Elantra. Even though they only had 2016s available, they still insisted that I give them the quoted price on a 2015 from out of state. The manager practically yelled that he would beat the price. When I sent them the quote, they immediately told me that they could not even match the price since it was for a 2015. I had explained this to the salesman before, but he and the manager still insisted that they could somehow beat the price. They wasted my time for no reason and clearly didn't trust what I was saying from the very beginning. They didn't believe me that I had such a great offer from a dealership in Texas. I would certainly avoid this dealership if you can. read more

They would get negative stars if possible!! We wanted to purchase a vehicle from this dealership but we were only willing to spend a certain amount on the monthly payment. After a lot of back and forth, they agreed to our monthly payment and what we assumed on a 72- month used car loan, which is the standard for banks to approve. Although it was late and the dealership was closing soon, they kept insisting that we sign off on everything that night. We rushed through the documents, only to find out a week later when we received a notice from the bank, that the loan wasn't approved because 84-months was too long for a used car loan. We couldn't believe they had the decency to do such a thing, especially after reaching a verbal agreement. It's not standard practice to apply for an 84-month loan, especially for a used car and most banks will not approve it. However, their bank of course did, which put us in a really bad situation. They were very aware of this and still proceeded to go along with it. So we basically paid a lot more for the overall value of the car, and they were very manipulative on how they went about it. We dealt with the manager, Ray McGarry, who of course insisted had done nothing wrong. On top of everything, the car wasn't prepped to be sold and had stains all over the backseat, even after a detailing which we came back and insisted on. I would never go back to this dealership to be treated in such a way and taken advantage of, so please do your research and look over everything closely if you are ever in a similar situation. It's typical in today's day and age that every car dealership you encounter will try to get the most out of you, but they went far beyond and it's a shame they continue to take advantage of innocent people. read more
