Sporting goods.

I've never been inside one of these because I associate them with guns and people who like guns who tend not to be my type of person. But my son dropped us off and my husband was looking for a bag for his laptop. We didn't find one, but they had a lot of clothing. And they had camping gear upstairs. And while I didn't buy anything, it was a nice store to walk around. There are two levels which was cool. The store was laid out nicely and the people working there were quite nice. I was looking for some winter wear and they weren't out. I probably wouldn't come to one again because I can find some stuff for layering in other places.

Going fishing, hiking, shooting, hunting, camping, etc.? Bass Pro Shop has everything you need:…read moreboats, life jackets, snorkel gear, shoes, apparel, bows, guns, ammo, ammo, ammo, you get the idea - oh, and plenty of guns. They also have camp cookware, fuel canisters, and freeze-dried foods. They also carry solar-powered electronics, battery chargers, and other devices. This place is like a supercenter for outdoor recreational activities. I could spend extra hours in the store, just browsing, and marveling at all the options they have. Some of my favorite items are The Walker's Digital Electronic Earmuffs for indoor shooting protection and the Salty Crew Apex Perforated Long-Sleeve Hooded Sunshirt for style. Although several items are pricey, they do offer memberships and various discounts to reduce the damage to your pockets. I usually frequent this place twice a month, sometimes just for a browse for sales or to find items that I do not currently have on hand that will be very useful in the future. Oh, and I just absolutely love interacting with service reps because they actually love what they do in their job. If you or someone you know enjoys adventurous outdoor activities, there aren't many places that have the quality and quantity that Bass Pro Shop offers.

After repeated poor customer service experiences, I've decided to stop shopping at the Tacoma Bass Pro Shops and will likely take my business elsewhere altogether. At the Tacoma store, asking for help consistently feels like an inconvenience to employees. Checkout interactions have also been cold and dismissive, both in tone and body language. Recently, my wife asked whether she qualified for a military discount. Instead of explaining the requirements, the cashier abruptly asked, "Where's your military ID?" That exchange reflects the way we've been treated there on multiple visits. The one exception to the lack of attention is the credit card pitch. Employees are quick to approach you about signing up as soon as you walk through the door, sometimes so persistently that it feels awkward and intrusive. I wish that same attention went toward helping customers once they're shopping. I had a similar experience at the Cabela's in Lacey while purchasing a firearm. I didn't know I needed to sign in on a touchscreen before approaching the firearms counter. When I went to ask for help, the employee made me feel foolish for not knowing the process. Customers should be treated with basic courtesy whether they're spending $10 or thousands. These repeated interactions have cost Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's my business. I'll be shopping with a competitor.

Bass Pro Shops - This is part of the lobby. It took me 10 minutes to get through the turnstile. There was so much to look at.

I had an issue just Tuesday and Kim in the shipping department took care of it for Ina timely manner & really showed up for me. Her customer service was top notch!! Thanks Kim for helping me out with my issue and making sure I didn't go this weekend without what I ordered! The value is good if you need extra deals I suggest ordering through Walmart. Don't hate me but it's true!!

The non-fishing apparel - caps, clothes, gloves are usually never on sale even though you can get a little of a discount for being a member. But that's about it, really. You hardly see brands like Columbia, Under Armour or others go on sale. Even when they have the annual tent sales during the Summer in August, hardly see things on sale that much. As for customer service, guess it depends on the days, because we have received mostly great to pretty bad and slow services on different days we have visited this store location in Fife, on occasion. We still shop for our fishing gear here as we like the selection and variety of items for different fishing seasons - Salmon, Steelhead and Trout.
