Walked in and was pretty much ignored by about 6 staff members. There was one millennial facing the shelves, looked up at one time and said "what's up". I had questions but it seemed the staff was more concerned about what they were going to do over the weekend then help customers. I went to Scheels and was greeted and assisted the whole time. Extremely disappointed. I bought a Pilates Reformer 11/30/19 and never received the item. The tracking number was bogus. Dicks couldn't find the merchandise and refused to send another one--2 weeks later I was told it was sold out and no longer available. I was promised a refund that I never received (over $2500.). Ultimately I had to deal with this through my credit card company yesterday. I bought the same reformer cheaper on Amazon, and got it in one week! I suspect there is something majorly fraudulent going on with Dicks Sporting Goods. read more

Someone finally got it, we don't like shopping there only to stand in check out lines with only one or two checkers. Walked in and was immediately "greeted" by a man (he looked like maybe he's some form of manager? He seemed to have stopped going over something with someone) wanting to know what I was looking for, I was so off put I was kind of wondering why and apparently he really needed to know what I was looking for. I've been here several times to buy some small things, so I was honestly very shocked. If that was meant to be genuine maybe a more polite tone and a friendly greeting would be a good start. I get that I don't look like the kind of person that'd buy anything here but I got the vibe like he thought I was just going to steal from them or something. My wife and I were in the market for an inversion table. We also wanted to look at some camping supplies and thought Dick's would be a good place to start. We located the inversion table floor displays and asked for assistance from one of the store employees. The store had two brands displayed a Health Gear and a Teeter brand. My wife asked if she could try them out to see which one she liked and was told "no, that it was against the store's policy". The Teeter brand was listed at $499. I can understand that from a liability stand point you don't want kids playing on these items, but do you seriously expect me to buy a $500 product and not even see if I like it first??? Needless to say, we went to Scheels, tried out and BOUGHT the same Teeter model Dick's had. We also saved $50 on our purchase. read more

Wonderful service!! My softball glove had broken and the manager, Mike, was so helpful. He had done his best to help me out. He had made sure I got the best glove and even gave me some money back even though the glove was the same price. The glove had to be steamed and I didn't even have to pay for it. There was a long wait so he gave me a $10 gift card. Mike is a great manager and hope he will continue to do what he does. He was such a great help and I am sure to go back there! We are from out of town and went in here just to look around. There wasn't any employees around for at least 10-15 minutes to ask if we needed help, and after that we looked at the air soft guns and around that area. An employee finally showed up and we asked him if we could look at the knives as we weren't sure if that section requires employee assistance (it's placed behind the counter to the right) and he was very rude and spoke to us like we were stupid. He followed by implying we were there to steal from them, when we had given him absolutely no reason at all to assume that. I have worked myself in customer service specifically retail for years and would be appalled if an employee spoke to someone that way and would be fired myself. Glad I decided not to move to Nevada if this is how employees are allowed to act here. We decided not to purchase the anything and go back to our hotel because it ruined everyone's night. Went here to find some bowling shoes for my 6 year old son. When we got here there was no one in the shoe department. I walked around the store for 10 to 15 mins. finally an employee walked up and ask if there was there a problem. I was shock at the question. Then another employee came up behind me and began accusing my son of breaking some display item. I immediately said that he had not touched anything. She insisted he had. I know for fact that he had not because he was holding my hand the whole time. I was now very angry with these employees and asked to speak to the manager. I was told that the manager was unavailable. I could see him standing by the registers flirting with a female customer. I guess that was more important than store. I headed for the mall entrance too leave when the woman who had accused my son of breaking the display step in front of me and said I was going to pay for it. I told her to please move that I was leaving. She said that she would call security if I did not pay for the broken item. I told her I would not and wanted to see the security camera footage of him breaking the item. She said the cameras were out of service. At this point my son had grab my leg in fear. He began crying because he was scared. I picked him up and proceeded to leave. Mall security met me at the door I told them what had happened the officer ask me to please wait while he spoke to the manager. So I waited. Upon his return he said I could continue with my shopping. I wish to thank the mall security officer for his help. But as for Dick's Sporting Goods they should by removed from the mall and never open another store ever. I will never shop at any Dick's ever again. Any company who uses scare tactics on costumers should be put OUT OF BUSINESS and that is where Dick's should be. Was looking to refresh my workout wardrobe and prepared to buy multiple pairs of shorts, shirts, etc. 90% of the clothing was either not on the correct hanger size (L vs XL, etc.), or was not available in my size. Additionally, there were no available employees to answer questions, even after hitting the help button multiple times. Lastly, There was 1 checkout register open and a long line of people (all with a look of frustration). I just dropped the few items and left. Once again, and the last time, employee's severe limitations of their merchandise loses a customer. Last Thursday morning I requested a men's Nike wide running shoe. The sales lady announced Nike does "not make a wide running shoe." She attempted to sell me another shoe. I couldn't believe Nike would limit shoe sizes. Disappointed I went to Big 5 up the street and within 30 minutes or less left w/a pair of black Nike running shoes size 12 EEEE for $60. Thank you Dick's. I bought what I needed at Big 5. Also, I have visited several of your stores and you have less than skeleton staff. So, since your not willing to hire more employees at least hire people who are informed. I won't be back. read more

Went for the 1st time to Dick's Sporting Goods and will probably not go back. 1) Walked in, no greeter, figured with such a new store, somebody would ask me what I was looking for. 2) 5-6 Employees standing around the registers, no customers, just goofing off. 3) Finally figured out where the Golf area was and headed that way, past the registers. Again, no "need some help', "how you doing" from the "Register Rats". 4) Found golf balls, starting looking for Gloves, I am left-handed so was looking for right-handed gloves, couldn't find them, saw a sales person sitting behind a computer, walked over and said jokingly, you guys have a think against left-handers, he just looked at me. I then asked where the right-handed gloves were. He pointed in the direction of the gloves and said "over-there" and stayed seated. 5) Wandered around the store just to check it out and not once did an employee ask me if I needed any help, even though I looked like a "deer in the headlights"............ 6) Finally found a couple of gloves, took them and the golf balls to the register. 6 people in line, and only 1 employee at the registers. She was very sweet and kept saying she was sorry for the wait. But, she was also trying to sale the rewards program to every customer. She was doing a great job, with what she had to work with. All this time there were probably 10-15 employees walking around the store! Finally, as I got to the register another employee walked up and starting helping..... Worst experience at a retail store that I have ever had in my life and I am 63 years old. read more

Not only was it really unprofessional but she made me and everyone around me extremely uncomfortable. I strived to see her name tag but only got a glimpse, which I saw "IS". Being that Dick's is new to town, I thought I would try it out to purchase my son's football equipment this year. Since it's his first year, I had questions about items he was needing. No greeter inside the store, so I wandered around and found the youth/adult combined football section. I managed to find an associate who just pointed around to general areas where I might find the item in question. I was on my own to determine sizing and differences among various products after that- despite knowing nothing about youth football equipment. Nevertheless, I selected a few items for my son to try on. On to the shoe section to try and find cleats..... I didn't see any obvious youth sizes, so I managed to chase down a different associate who, again, simply pointed across the shoe section telling me "all the way over there" (across the shoe section). I wandered "over there" into a section of soccer cleats so I approached a different associate who, from 15' away from the small selection of football cleats simply pointed down the row to the cleats they had. In the millisecond it took me to blink the associate hightailed it in the other direction. No offer to get any sizes, no offer of assistance of any sort. This left me pretty peeved so I abandoned my attempt to find cleats, concluding I wasn't going to get any help. I figured my son could try on the items I previously picked out so I proceeded to the fitting room which requires you to push a button and wait, hoping for someone to unlock the fitting room door. No such luck. I waited, and then proceeded to the other fitting room- also locked. The young associate who blew me off in shoes was passing by and I asked him to open the room; naturally, he did not have a key but he offered to push the button for me. Then he stated he would call someone, and I requested that that someone be the manager so I could discuss my experience in the store. I don't know if it was the manger who came, but he offered to open the door which I stated wasn't necessary. I showed him my cart, and told I had been prepared to buy a couple hundred dollars worth of equipment, but I wouldn't be purchasing any of it that day due to the terrible service I received the whole time I was in the store. I explained there was a lack of assistance generally, but in the shoe section, employees literally ran the other direction! I told him while I dislike paying the higher prices at Scheel's I would likely end up buying it all there given that I know I can get assistance in selecting the necessary equipment. I can't imagine going back to Dick's and it's too bad for them that they missed out on an opportunity to build a loyal customer. My son is 6 and I expect there will be hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars of sports equipment to buy ahead of us, which won't be from Dick's. I would add that I shop a lot around town, this is the single worst customer service experience I've had in any store, prompting my complaint to the manager. Pro tip - any of the three following questions by any associate at any time could have avoided this experience: (1) can I help you find something; (2) do you have any questions; (3) can I get you a size. read more
