It's in a plaza next to a fairly famous ice cream place so parking can sometimes be difficult but if you look around you should be able to find parking not too far away. When you go in, someone at the front counter would typically greet you and if you are going for the gun counter, make sure you take a ticket at the front entrance. The people working there seem to actually like their job and are fairly friendly. For PPT the seller has to inform the manager to clear the gun, they will give you a tag afterwards. And the overall process is fairly painless. They don't try to make it hard even though they really don't make money. The pickup is the same process and both the person who started the 10 day and the young girl who helped me at the pickup are efficient. Overall there is nothing bad to say except sometimes you do have to wait a bit when it's busy but the ticket system is fair.

We made eye contact with multiple employees, and not a single one said something as simple as, "we will be with you shortly." That is basic customer service. One employee was completely focused on making a gun sale and acted like nothing else in the store mattered. A female employee was helping a male customer while carrying on side conversations, clearly in no rush to acknowledge anyone else. Overall, the staff made us feel invisible and unwelcome. I would never return to this place or recommend it to anyone. It is disappointing that management or ownership does not seem to prioritize training or customer service. If this is what is allowed to happen on the floor, it reflects very poorly on the people running the store. Huge letdown.

Huge shoutout to our guide, Nick, who honestly made the experience even better. He was funny, knowledgeable, calm under pressure, and kept our raft hyped the entire time. The rapids were SO much fun -- definitely an adrenaline rush -- and the scenery along the Kern River was absolutely beautiful. We even had one of our girls fall into the rapids, and the rescue team reacted immediately and handled everything perfectly, which made us appreciate how trained and prepared they really are.
