Great service. They have the best targets in the Antelope Valley. Julian and his wife are very informative and and answered all my questions.

It's in a plaza next to a fairly famous ice cream place so parking can sometimes be difficult but if you look around you should be able to find parking not too far away. When you go in, someone at the front counter would typically greet you and if you are going for the gun counter, make sure you take a ticket at the front entrance. The people working there seem to actually like their job and are fairly friendly. For PPT the seller has to inform the manager to clear the gun, they will give you a tag afterwards. And the overall process is fairly painless. They don't try to make it hard even though they really don't make money. The pickup is the same process and both the person who started the 10 day and the young girl who helped me at the pickup are efficient. Overall there is nothing bad to say except sometimes you do have to wait a bit when it's busy but the ticket system is fair.

No one greeted us, acknowledged us, or even seemed to notice we were there. If it is your first time visiting, good luck. You will just be standing around confused because no one tells you that you are supposed to sign in at a kiosk that is tucked away with no signage whatsoever. Like other reviewers have mentioned, we stood around for at least 30 minutes. We made eye contact with multiple employees, and not a single one said something as simple as, "we will be with you shortly." That is basic customer service. One employee was completely focused on making a gun sale and acted like nothing else in the store mattered. A female employee was helping a male customer while carrying on side conversations, clearly in no rush to acknowledge anyone else. Overall, the staff made us feel invisible and unwelcome. I would never return to this place or recommend it to anyone. It is disappointing that management or ownership does not seem to prioritize training or customer service. If this is what is allowed to happen on the floor, it reflects very poorly on the people running the store. Huge letdown.

The team at Cobra Tactical went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule and set up private training for me. Prior to my training session, I sent Naomi a list of ammo and other items that I wanted to purchase for the session. When I arrived, Naomi already had my entire order perfectly organized in a box and ready to go. I was super lucky to have Dave as my instructor. The class session was very informative and focused on topics that actually mattered. The range session was really where Dave really separated himself from the pack. Training sessions that I have previously done with other instructors were very basic and focused on standing still and aiming at a paper target. Dave takes a much more tactical approach. By the end of my training, I felt very comfortable drawing from a holster and shooting while moving, even with distractions. This training was worth every penny. I can't wait to do more training sessions!

For some reason I thought as a dealer they could contact the mfg and ask the question for me but I guess that didn't occur to them. I've not had any follow-up contact from them on it. I guess I'm just left with communicating and ordering directly from the mfg now? I just want to know what size axle the bobbins fit on and no one can get an answer for me. You'd think there's someone they could just call and ask and tell me; but they'd have to want to sell the product first. I get that the bobbins are out of stock on the website; but there's NO ONE who can say what they fit on, and no one is capable of finding out? If they don't fit I'd be happy to look elsewhere, but they left me in limbo. Then a month later I told them I'd like to come down to see the shop and see if there's anything else I might be interested in buying from them locally. I mentioned I'm legally blind and riding my bike in from 25 miles away and asked if they had a 120v outlet I could charge from. You know... cuz they're an ebike store. But I guess not. He said they *might* be able to find me a plug to use "for a little while if they aren't too busy" but it was very non-committal. Didn't give me any warm reassurance that they could handle something as simple as helping me charge my ebike if I ride a 50 mile round trip to get there and home... with the intent of purchasing something. I've been taking my bike to Block Bikes in Palmdale. The owner is incredibly friendly and always has a socket for me to charge with. He doesn't mess with the "ebike" parts, but handles all of my other bike needs. I've been incredibly satisfied with his service so far. He's just not an "ebike" shop. And at this point, given the general attitude of the two shops, I can't see why I'd ever bother going to the actual "ebike" shop. It sounds like if you don't buy your bike from Open Trails, they just aren't very interested doing any other business with you. I had to stop driving 8 years ago and my ebike is my ONLY form of transportation. The businesses which let me to charge there are the people who allow me the freedom to get out and be independent again. Costco is great about it, my doctor's offices are great about it, a regular bike shop Block Bikes has been great about it, the VFW has even let me charge there and I'm not a veteran, the library has helped me charge... the ONLY business I've asked so far who's waffled on the idea, is the "Open Trails Ebike" shop. Who only deal with ebikes. That seems kind of ironic. We're talking like $0.30 of power here. I'm a long-distance ebike rider, I've put 2300 miles on my Ariel Grizzly in the last 7 months and I need regular service on it. It would have been nice to form a lasting relationship giving my business to an actual "ebike" shop who can discuss my ebike needs as an ebike rider. In 7 months I've gone through a pair of tires, 3 tubes, got Tannus liners, 3 sets of brake pads, have needed some minor repairs and adjustments made, needed chain lube, needed a badly bent brake disc replaced and now need new tires again. I'm probably the most consistent ebike customer in Palmdale and I'm delighted to pay people to do the things I can't. So I'll keep going to Block Bikes to get that stuff taken care of, and will continue to buy my ebike specific parts online so I don't have to worry about if I can make it back home or not.

Their range is ok, downstairs, its loud, its cramped. It can also get too crowded, and then of course if you go to your bag, someone inevitably will ask if your done, even though they paid for one stall, not two. Boards block the targets, so you have to put your pistol into the cutout, this is the most annoying aspect of the range. Target placement are hand crank controlled if that matters. Their reloads are ehh at best. Had one where the bullet came out of the case and it took 3 hours to completely flush out the pistol and trigger group. So inspect every cartridge. Reload prices are a tad more than the cheaper white box ammo at other places, but not high. Overall a good place, i recommend.

The selection of guns is poor compared to turners. I feel like this place has gone down hill over…read morethe years and is barely staying in business. They shut there gun range down way to early, they close the lanes 1hr + before closing time which doesn't make sense. Just seems like they have a cocky 20 year old running the place that doesn't have a clue on how to run a business or treat customers. I actually caught him trying to hit on my girlfriend one day when I was like 10 ft away. Can't say I recommend this place but sadly there's not much of a choice out here. Honestly I would take my money elsewhere. These gun shops like to do a lot of price gouging in this valley. The older folks that work there seem to be pretty respectful but I can't say that for the younger workers.
