Hubby needed some shoes since he was having issue find some at Tangler outlet. We decided to stop by and check out their shoe selection. I was able to find me a pair myself also for 52.00 Nikes! Hubby found him a pair after searching what felt like all day lol. I also need a new travel cup, for work/travels. Found a cute yeti cup. Have a handle to hold and a straw! We both left super happy. Plenty of parking and check out was fast. Everyone was super helpful all through out the store! read more

Just wanted to review and say thanks for the level of customer service you provided today. I was looking for a specific pair of shoes that were on sale per the website, and your store had the last one in the size I needed. I called before coming, and by the time I got there, the person met me at the door and with few words said, knew exactly who I was. He guided me to get in line and brought the shoes to me. The store is ok. Employees are friendly. We utilize the company when we have a specific need, but it definitely is pricey. My only thing with this particular store is that they no longer give a military discount which really isn't a big deal. I don't expect any business to do so, and as a military family, we rarely ask if anyone does. However, the one in Durham gives 10% and still does as far as I am aware. Presented with the two options, I'll choose Durham any day. read more

There is a manager that works here that is a female and once I remember her name I will post it (It's something short). Every encounter I have had with her has been negative. I asked for a price check once and after she told me I was lying about the sign saying it was cheaper I had to walk to the back of the store and bring the sign up front. She gave no apology when she was proven wrong and then suggested that I was still wrong and she would "just have the cashier give it to me if it was that big of a deal" when the sign clearly proved I was right about the sale. We do not go to This store anymore because of her attitude issue that I've encountered at least 3 times. We prefer to drive to Cary to bass pro shop or field and stream for our sporting good needs. Positive is that the store stays clean and carries some brands I like. read more

My son and I were shopping for a new bait caster/rod and reel. We found what we liked and the young lady "Crystal" that was working in the back area of the store noticed what we were doing and offered to put the new braided string on the reel for us and we let her. That's customer service! Thanks! Update: had to take the bait caster back, handle came off. Crystal saw me coming in and took care of me immediately without and question! Put new string on new bait caster as well and made sure everything was ok with new caster! Again....great customer service! Thanks Crystal! read more

If you like big-box stores that mostly only carry the over-priced, over-marketed brands, have staff with very little expertise on the activities for which they sell products, but have fancy displays and radio-wielding folks to follow you around the store as if you are trying to steal from them, then the appropriately named Dicks is for you. I would characterize Dicks as more of a "sports fashion" store than a "sporting goods" store. The folks in the Burlington store seem friendly enough. What they lack in product knowledge and ability to actually help the customer get the right product for their needs, they make up for in blank stares. Dicks carries all of the fad gadgets that you could ever want, but flat out ignores many of the core products for common sports and activities. For many activities they sell products manufactured just for Dicks that may look similar to the normal versions of the product, but are actually "budget" version of the products that are not as well made. My experience with these budget, Dicks exclusive models has been in the camping, hockey, kayaking, shooting, hunting, and archery areas. I've found that Dunham's, in the old Mall, usually has better prices, better product selection, and a somewhat more knowledgeable staff. AND Dunham's sells all firearms. Dicks corporate policy is that they no longer sell "black rifles". So, you can buy a semi auto rifle that shoots the .223 remington round, but only if that rifle doesn't look particularly menacing. Want a Savage hunting rifle in .223 Remington, no problem. Try to get an Ar-15 that shoots the same .223 Remington round and Dicks refuses to sell it to you. If it visually resembles a military style (regardless of how it operates), then Dicks won't sell it to you. Dicks "no black guns" policy is absurd and unAmerican. I will not set foot in their store ever again... which, honestly isn't a big loss, given that they are a sub-par "sporting goods" store to begin with. read more

On 1-18-17 I placed an order (in person at store) for a N.E. Patriots Jersey. On the order it said "In Stock." I received a confirmation email saying the order was being processed and item was in stock. Delivery between 1-17 to 1-23. I waited for the shipping confirmation to arrive. It didn't. On the day after (1-23-17) the N.E. Patriots won their division I received an email saying my order was cancelled. After calling customer service I was told the item wasn't in stock. Asking why I was told twice (and in print) that it was in stock, how could it possibly be "out of stock" the day after the Patriots won? And why did it take so long to suddenly discover it was so-called out of stock? So when you order something from DSG's don't assume you will get it. Apparently, it's like playing Russian roulette. Order from a site that knows what they are doing. I can't blame the local store, but I do blame their national system for not properly keeping track of their inventory. read more
