This isn't Christie's or Sotheby's, but I'm not sure we'd have a market for that in this part of North Carolina. But there *is* a lot of money here, and a surprising abundance of really high quality second hand goods, and I can see why Leland Little gets his fair share of them through his auction house. The catalogues are very well produced, with top-notch photography. The auction house itself has comfortable chairs and plenty of space in which to walk around and peruse the goods. The free hors d'oeuvres and cupcakes were a nice touch. Perhaps the biggest problem I had was the poor cellular reception I got inside the building ... but that's hardly their fault. The staff were friendly and professional and set me up with a bidding number as quickly as one could hope for. When I wanted to examine something in a case, it wasn't hard to find a staffer to offer a lending hand. Absolutely no complaints there. Another reviewer bemoaned the cost of the goods being auctioned. If your basis of comparison is Etsy and eBay, then you're probably in the wrong place. The clientele at Leland Little appeared to me to be a little more discerning, and i can entirely understand why these policies exist. Absentee bids cost a company money to process, and it's entirely normal to have minimum bid amounts. If you don't like that, then you're not going to like a lot of the higher end auction houses out there.

I put a 50% deposit down and then paid the balance 12 days later. I originally was told that the store should receive the items from the manufacturer in 3 to 4 weeks, but when I received my invoice in the mail, it said 6 to 10 weeks. On June 6, 2013, I called the store and left a message for Mr.Vester to check on the status of the order. Another employee called me back and said that they should have the items by June 27th and the delivery company should call me about a week later. By 7/15/13, I had not received a call from the delivery company, so I called the store back and left a message for Mr.Vester. The same employee who called me back in June called me back this time. He said that the notation on my account was showing that the items should be in by the end of July. I told the employee that he had previously told me that they should have the items by June 27th, and I asked him what the delay was. He could not advise and only said that it was now showing that they should have the items by the end of July. The end of July came and went, and no phone call from either the furniture store or the delivery company. To make a long story short, I was given several other dates as to when the furniture would be in. However, all of those dates came and went and I never received a call from Mr. Vester or anyone at the store. In August, I called and really unloaded on him about the constant delays and not being informed as to whether the furniture had arrived after each of the dates I was given. He said that all of the dates I was given was given to them from the manufacturer. He said the latest information from the manufacturer was that they were having a hard time getting the fabric from their overseas supplier. He promised to keep me informed of the status of the order thereafter. I was given two dates in September but the store didn't receive the furniture. I never received a phone call from the store when the items finally did arrive. Mr. Vester had assumed the delivery company had contacted me, which they had not. I finally got them on 10/23/13. The only reason I am giving this company a 2 star rating vs. 1 star is because of the great price. However, I don't know if it was worth the aggravation I went through to get them.
