But in August 2025 we bought two items for over a thousand dollars each, two different transactions a little over two weeks apart, and each time, when we went to pick up the item, the rudeness of SOME members of the staff was a gutpunch. Some of the staff have been lovely, full credit and appreciation, but the other staff who barked at me, WHAT DO YOU WANT? WHY ARE YOU HERE? while I waited near the desk as previously instructed for the lovely furniture mover to help carry the piece out to my vehicle, this was outrageously hostile. I chalked that up to a bad day. But the second pick up of an already purchased piece a different staff member also barked at me stridently and I was so shocked, I asked her, "Are you having a bad day or something?" and she said, "I'M JUST VERY BUSY.." though there were perhaps three or five people in the entire store at the moment. I mean, I get that there are pressures we are not privy to, but my only sin was in purchasing two pretty high priced items and waiting quietly with good humor and care, for instructions about how to go about loading them from the store to my vehicle. The more I think about this nastiness, the more I simply cannot bring myself to go into this store, formerly one of my favorite haunts. So maybe save yourself some trauma, and find a different shop. SEstatesales.net is a great resource.

We have some small collections of cast iron, Pyrex, coins, blue cornflower corning ware, etc. We have also enjoyed finding items and re-selling them occasionally. I guess you could call us pickers. My in-laws are also pickers. When they were in town visiting us a few weeks ago we brought them to several antique stores. Treasures on the Lane was one of those stops. While we were there, my wife noticed they were advertising a vacant shelf within a lighted cabinet for $15/month. She asked a few questions and obtained a business card. About a week later my wife decided to call and inquire. She spoke with Phil, one of the owners and he provided her with the necessary information and she decided to give it a try. The next weekend we arrived and filled out a bit of paperwork and set up her space. We also enjoy looking around when we stop in. The store consists of a wide array of items including coins, baseball cards, Pyrex, corning ware and other vintage glassware and dishes, military items, vintage toys, and much more. Treasures on the Lane is also very convenient to the interstate making it an easy stop even if just passing through Burlington.

My wife and I were very familiar with The Good Samaritan Thrift Store because we both love to go thrifting. They are a God send for people in need because of suffering with addiction and all the things that go along with it. I filled up a room completely with good merchandise and called Good Samaritan because of not only what they do but they also will pick up. I was concerned that their truck may not be big enough for all my stuff so I asked them to please send the truck empty. I had some items that other thrift stores won't accept so I had a concern that I may be left with some merchandise that I would have to figure out what to do with. We scheduled a date and time for them to come to my house and they were very prompt about getting there on time. in 1 hour it took 3 men to load all my stuff on their truck and they left me nothing but an empty room full of dust. I could not have been happier. If you are considering donating please donate to The Good Samaritan. Their cause is great and their work ethic and manners were also great. Thank you Good Samaritan for what you do and emptying my room full of goods.

Elegant Relic is both a home furnishing store, with a fair mix of redone antique items and modern equivalents. But they also have a cute clothing boutique that has some unusual items. There's a vintage vibe to everything. Maybe it's the subdued lighting, the scented candles and the hardwood floors, but everything is well displayed and draws you in. The clothing in the upstairs area (hen feathers) has a bohemian feel with mostly unstructured garments, but that might be owing more to the time of year than anything else. Although I didn't find anything I had to have, it was nice change of pace. The owner directed me to quite a few items on special and owing to her salesmanship skills, nearly had me buying it all. She wasn't pushy about it, though, and that itself was pretty remarkable. For the most part though, when I preferred to browse without a sales person following me around, the Elegant Relic staff let that happen. It's not a particularly inexpensive store, but they are consistent other stores of this kind. Elegant Relic does have something in nearly all price points though, and enough to let me find a nice gift without breaking the bank.

Hen Feathers had some unique women's apparel but it was exactly that, women's apparel. I feel as if many trendy women would love to shop around on the top floor.
