First visit. Went here looking for a small dresser/nightstand, didn't find anything that would work for me but I did find some really lovely items that made me question why I bought new? Great prices on everything and I ended up finding a perfect painting for a guest bedroom and a cute basket, as well. I will definitely be making it a frequent stop. read more

Bella's House - Painting I just acquired from Bella's House. - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Burlington, North Carolina

Shopping, great! Service, traumatizingly mean. I have been a huge fan of Bella's for years now, making at least one weekly visit to this store, and having found many well-priced treasures there. But in August 2025 we bought two items for over a thousand dollars each, two different transactions a little over two weeks apart, and each time, when we went to pick up the item, the rudeness of SOME members of the staff was a gutpunch. Some of the staff have been lovely, full credit and appreciation, but the other staff who barked at me, WHAT DO YOU WANT? WHY ARE YOU HERE? while I waited near the desk as previously instructed for the lovely furniture mover to help carry the piece out to my vehicle, this was outrageously hostile. I chalked that up to a bad day. But the second pick up of an already purchased piece a different staff member also barked at me stridently and I was so shocked, I asked her, "Are you having a bad day or something?" and she said, "I'M JUST VERY BUSY.." though there were perhaps three or five people in the entire store at the moment. I mean, I get that there are pressures we are not privy to, but my only sin was in purchasing two pretty high priced items and waiting quietly with good humor and care, for instructions about how to go about loading them from the store to my vehicle. The more I think about this nastiness, the more I simply cannot bring myself to go into this store, formerly one of my favorite haunts. So maybe save yourself some trauma, and find a different shop. I came by today to check out the inventory at Bella's. I was surprised by the size of the warehouse. It's 2 stories crammed full of furniture and home decor. Some furniture was dated, but a lot of it was modern and fun. I didn't understand the pricing based on date, but did find a nice frame for under $9. Should I return to Burlington for another visit, I might stop by again. read more

I was in the area for work and decided to drop in to check out their inventory. I'm so glad that I did. First off, the store is quite expansive. It looks deceptively small if you're just viewing it from the outside. There's the main showroom, but there are also two smaller rooms connected to it that are filled with even more furniture and other trinkets. They have some lovely pieces here. I saw this ornate gold mirror and several nice accent chairs among other things. I ended up purchasing a beautiful floral painting with a gold frame for just $28! It's the first thing guests see when they come into my home and it's really transformed my space. I'll definitely be back! read more

I am a regular shopper at Bella's House and often find pieces of décor and furniture that fit right in to a need that I have. I recently purchased a mirror framed with beautiful carved wood bamboo design. Very heavy quality. My husband purchased a nice quality roll top desk and many other items. We enjoy stopping by to see what is new and often spend several hours mozing around, thinking about the families who brought items in. Pricing is very reasonable and the staff are nice to work with. I always love going to Bella's House and seeing all of the consignment items. Today I was searching for a table to go in our entryway area of our home. While browsing, I was not aware that I had roamed into the "working area" of Bella's, as they had no signs or areas roped off. I was approached very rudely by an employee, potentially someone of management, and was asked what I needed because I was in the working area so I must have been lost. I was not dressed up, I was in jeans and a T-shirt. Regardless, I was a customer ready to spend $200+ on an item I had my eye on. I believe this employee was judging me on my appearance, and did not take me seriously as a customer. Normally this kind of comment would not bother me, but the tone and manner of which this employee spoke to me was very rude and I am sad to say Bella's lost both a customer and a sale today. I will most likely not be returning to Bella's anytime soon. read more

BEWARE. Several years ago, I brought in a NICE dining set with 6 chairs to be consigned, and I was VERY CLEAR that I wanted at LEAST a specific dollar amount. I even had them write it on the contract in 2 places and they circled the dollar amount I needed. I called and checked a couple of times, and it had not sold. I received a pretty good offer from someone I knew, so I called the store, and they said they just sold it, and I could come pick up my $60 check. $60!!!!!! WHAT!!! Turns out they sold my beautiful dining set for $100!!! I couldn't believe it!!! I realize mistakes happen, so I let it go. Years pass. I decide to buy a dresser for a bedroom. I go buy a partially assembled dresser, under the agreement they will finish building it. I paid the store for the piece, and trusted it would get done. I bought this dresser as a Christmas gift for my kids. I went to pick it up on Christmas Eve right before the store was to be closed. When I get there, it was tied to a furniture dolly. The employee told me not to open the drawers till I got home. That shot at a big red flag. There were four drawers that were not tied shut so they could be opened, so I checked them out. The very first drawer I opened, the drawer glide popped off and onto the floor, and ball bearings rolled everywhere. At that point, I gave her the pieces and was still willing to buy it, if they could fix that piece. After I gave her the piece that had broken, she said " I was afraid that was going to happen." I went over to open another drawer, and that drawer would only open halfway. I think she knew it was broken. She knew I had paid extra to have him complete the repair process, but she was still willing to let me take it home aware that at LEAST two of 6 drawers were broken. In both of these events that I described, the staff that we dealt with was very matter-of-fact and did not show compassion or seem concerned that major mistakes had happened. read more
