Gave Dick's Lechon another chance. But still disappointed me. I ordered 3choices, 2choices of lechon and 1choice Bbq stick. Also ordered lumpia. I saw brown bag knowing it was the lumpias. Got home and opened the plate and it looked lime 1choice of lechon and I didn't get my lumpias. The portion part of the plate had 2 cut up pieces of lechon and the other looks half the portion and some were burned. It's a 1.50 extra choice of lechon but they give you 50cent portions. Dick's Lechon. Never again. read more

Lunch trucks seems to be the popular thing now days, but dick's has been my go to for a while. The prices went up a bit, but the price is still dang good for the food you get! My go to is the pancit and lechon plate. I can barely finish the plate and it's only $8!!!! Pancit is flavorful and lechon is nice and crispy. They have sauces outside to add, but I guess I always miss the lemon. Wish they would have more selection in drinks as well. But I still will come back for that plate though! read more

Dick's Lechon - Small pancit with lechon - Filipino Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

Dick's Lechon At least they got half of that correct! Coming here for the second time, I was eager to dispell my last disastrous visit which I will sum up as one word, Apocalyptic... Ordered lechon plate with pancit and 1 bbq stick. Heres how it fared: Lechon: You've got to bring it to me when it comes to this and I cannot recommend a place to friends or relatives if it falls short in value and taste. While the skin still had a nice crunch, I detected no seasoning or fragrance. The meat? What meat? The pieces were mostly all fat, I am not on a deathwish, with even a heaping amount of my own vinegar and sauce to balance it out, I struggled to cut and chomp it down into something somewhat digestably pleasant for my insides to handle. Threw half of it away. Pancit: Uggnnhh, salty and oily. Tasted like last nights order. The salt seems to mask the oldness of it and it just wasnt vibrant as Id like. At one point I tried to think what it kinda taste like and I remembered. Manapua man noodles...good but not really fresh made. It was just as I said, cold, old, salty, and oily. Not chancing it, threw it away. BBQ Stick: Seriously, WTH.. its one thing to sell food that don't taste that good but its totally uncool and another thing, if what you're selling is bad food and probably Leftovers...I could not even eat this, it was ROCK HARD. If I had to guess, it was cooked a day or 2 ago, fridged, then heated up (somewhat) I couldnt even bite into it, it was so HARD and DEAD! The sauce coating was wax hard, and any flavor or sweetness has long creeped into the food after world. If you still wanna try, go ahead, I just know that the "name" of half this place can also mean something bad (they did give me food that was hard) and someone who treats people not very nicely! read more

The quality of their lechon has really gone down over the years. I've been going there for many years now however both times disappointed me. The first one they serve me with deep fried greasy (literally oily) lechon. The second one, the skin are lumpy and there is MORE FAT than meat to my meal. The meat tastes and feels boiled- no flavors at all. I guess we'll have to find another lechon place coz this one is not it. read more

I discovered this place more than a year ago and it's gone downhill. It used to be staffed by a few guys that were fun, and incredibly cordial, but now there's a snobby girl who acts like customers are a bother to her "do nothing" time, and the portionas of the plates have shrunk. They have taken items off the list to add to a combo plate, and the girl tells you about it with no regard for truth as displayed on the menu. If good, friendly service is important to you, you might consider some of the other options within a stone's throw - it's Waipahu. read more

#119 of 2017 Every time I go to Waikele, or even just driving by on the freeway, DL calls to me. Lechon is my kryptonite. This is a food truck in the parking lot infront of what use to be KMart. Starbuck's is there too. You will see other food trucks like Leonards. Yes, lechon is bad for you. Yes, it's oily and fatty. And, yes it is so good. The crispy skin, the sweet tender meat with the vinaigrette sauce is a pleasure to eat for me. It's a good thing I don't know how to make this. Yet. So, if you're in the area looking for something to not fill you up too much, try these guys out. Very friendly and can easily answer your questions regarding the food. read more

We decided to stop here after some Christmas shopping and got the lechon plate to go. All the flavors were on point! The skin was still crispy and it had tons of flavor. They give plenty of onions and tomato with the lechon. It was a mix between lean and fatty pieces. This is a good quick option if you are in the area and craving Filipino food. read more

I had a chance to visit Dick's Lechon although it was near closing time which ended up showing in the food I got. Since I was a bit late they were out of Pancit so I got a Lechon and Adobo plate with rice, the Lechon was decent and crunchy although very fatty, the Adobo granted I was late I don't think I actually got Adobo as it was pretty black so I think I got what was supposed to be Crispy Dinaguan which was not crispy and really mushy like I said that's what I think I got as it sure didn't taste like Adobo and sure looked like dinaguan so I was a bit disappointed not only did I not get Adobo and no Pancit but it was the tail end of the day so everything wasn't as good I believe as it could have been. I may have to give them a second chance but go earlier so I'll have better quality food. So unfortunately this review may not be the best representation of the food they normally serve. read more

My husband and I were out running some errands and decided to stop and check out the food trucks for a quick lunch. We ordered the lechon special and a side of pork lumpia. My husband was so excited to try everything, that the plate was almost demolished by the time i was able to get my phone out for photos! Any way, the lechon was very moist, and the skin super crispy. Very good lechon. The special comes with the tomato and onion, and a side of rice. As I said, the lechon was very good, the sauce was good, but, the lechon wasn't even hot, not even warm. This tells me that it wasn't even made to order and was probably sitting for some time before we ordered. At least the lumpia was hot, and the sauce for that very good too.. read more

Great lechon and prices . Probably the best lechon on the island. This place is fast and provides quality pork. Plus it is a good truck which just adds to the experience 10/10 read more

I always see Dick's Lechon as I drive back and forth on the H1 freeway. I love Lechon, so I had to try, and also heard some good and not so good thing. When I went, I had a difficult time understanding part if the menu. I asked a question about combining 2 items, and I think the worker didn't understand me and told me NO. I did end up ordering a combination and was charged double, as in 2 separate plates. Hmmm...well, it was lunch time, and I was starving, so oh well, didn't want to make a stink or take more time. The Lechon was ok. The pork itself did not have much flavor, but it was moist, the sauce was good. The skin wasn't crispy, it was more hard than anything else. A couple of month later, I went again, I stood at the window to order. And stood there and stood there, no one helped me and it wasn't busy. They looked at me, but didn't acknowledge me or at least tell me that they will be right with me. Just blank stares. I dunno what happened, so I went to Lavernes and had some Hawaiian Food instead! Laverne was yum, but that's for another review! read more

I wish yelp allowed half stars, becuse Dick's actually deserves 2.5 stars. I decided to round down as 2.5 seems a little generous. Dick's deserves 2 stars for the following reasons: SERVICE: Each time I visited Dick's lechon (which was likely in the middle of the day on a (Friday or a weekend), there was never a line. Yet, the worker seemed to not be super helpful. I even asked for no pancit, all rice and repeated myself and somehow still ended up with pancit on my plate. Not sure if he was just ignorant or not listening. Annoying. For the price per plate, I figured they would make more of an effort? I could understand if they were busy, but they weren't. SELECTION: It never fails, there is always something sold out, or should I say not in stock? Not sure. In my opinion, a food truck should try to have majority of their menu items replenished to get by until at least close to their closing hour. Not in this case. I remember going there on a Saturday at around 3pm and they were already sold out of everything I wanted to order. My kids now remember this place as the one that doesn't ever have bbq sticks or lumpia. LOL. They also were out of sauce containers for their sauce so I had to pour it on my food and was worried about it leaking or spilling. That just defeats the purpose of "take out." Ultimately, they're lechon is pretty good. If you're just getting that alone then I'd recommend Dick's. Otherwise, I would not. read more

Ordered a 2 choice with Lechon Special and Longanisa. Rice was hard which is a no no in Hawaii. Lechon Special was delicious! Don't forget to grab the vinegar sauce for dipping. It has some type of peppers in it but definitely not too hot, so no be scared. Lol Longanisa was yummy but not the sweeter variety. Still good just letting you know JIC you enjoy the sweet one like I do. It comes with pancit but it has a strong flavor like knorr chicken base seasoning. Nice different texture noodles. I will return for Ala Carte Lechon Special for sure. I would call first though because this time they didn't have white onion. It was made with green onion and tomatoes. read more

Every time I pass on the freeway I noticed all these trucks lined up and finally I decided to check it out. I ordered the vegetable lumpia's and the pancit with the Lechon. I don't mind paying the price of almost 13.00 but I don't think this is worth the price. You call that pancit? Just long rice and carrots, meh! As far as the guisantes, a little too salty and I like more peas in it. The lechon is good but if I get another craving I'll go somewhere else. read more

I thought I'd give this place a try since I was in the wailer area. Ahhhhhhh.... To be honest, not that great. BBQ stick looked really good but meat was hard and appeared to be sitting for awhile. Dick's Lechon - Lunch plate with 2 bbq sticks and pancit - Filipino Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

For a month this truck has been causing me to almost rear end the car in front of me on H1 (sorry to the person driving behind me for the sudden stop). It's a bright pink truck with a pig on the logo but I couldn't make out the name. Then while stuck in traffic, I could finally read what it said "Dick's Lechon". Lechon?! Sign me up! I got the pancit and Lechon $9 and 4 lumpia for $5. Service was prompt, there were people waiting but they were given their food rather quickly. This is in a parking lot with other food trucks. The Lechon was decent, some pieces are really dry and the pancit is good but a bit dry too. With the Lechon sauce it's all good. The lumpia are a good size. This food was worth the trip and a definite return. read more

I was done shopping in the Waikele area, and on my way driving out, I noticed a line of food trucks along where Leonard's Malasada's is normally parked. I decided to park and check it out. I followed the smoke and smell of pork roasting over to Dick's Lechon Food Truck. Are you kidding me? FRESH roasted pork! I ordered ala carte and got a 1/2 pound. I continued to watch the pork roasting right there in the Waikele Center parking lot as I waited for my order, wait was about 10-15 minutes? To my surprise, the pork was not greasy, not salty, and juicy! Tasted like my batch just got out of the roaster. Look for Dick's Lechon Food Truck, you should be able to see the truck and smoke from the freeway. read more

I'm a huge fan of lechon and when passed this food truck I had to turn around. I decided on the Lechon Fried Rice, my mouth was watering for it. Everything seemed reheated. There wasn't a line and my order was quick so these items has to be sitting for a while. Rice slightly crunchy and the lechon had some crispy and soggy pieces but extremely greasy. I was disappointed BUT maybe it was an off day. I'll give it another try in the future. read more

Visiting Oahu and foodies travel to try the places the locals flock to. Just ordered the Lechon belly to go and couldn't wait to try it. Very flavorful pork belly. Got of the plane after being in the air for 8 hours. Fought through more than an hour of H-1 traffic. Traffic opened up at the H-1/H-2 split. Yes!! We got time for a bite before going home. My Braddah(Brother) asked where we going eat. I told em- We go Dick's! "What kine place dat?" "Lechon!" Dick's Lechon is located on food truck row in the Waikele Shopping Center next to PetCo. The specialty is in the Name- "Lechon". Filipino style roasted pork. The food: Lechon, Longaniza and two scoops or rice. The lechon- The skin was nice and crispy. The meat was soft and juicy. Masarap! (Delicious). There were various sauce options but I didn't need them. The pork was well seasoned. After the first bite and didn't see the need to add any. The longaniza- was hoping for the sweet & juicy red ones. Got 4 of the garlicky bitter version. It was ok but not what I expected. Lechon is on point. My recommendation- get a double serving for your two choice meal. Enjoy some Dick's Lechon! read more

Dick's Lechon - 1st try at Dick's Lechon - Filipino Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

Food truck located right next to Taste Tea, the smell of roasted pork lured me to try this place. Unfortunately they were out of pancit but no worries. Normally pancit comes with plate lunch along with jasmine rice. I got 2 choices: lechon(roasted pork) and veggie lumpia. The wait was about 15 minutes after I ordered. Here's why. Lechon was juicy, crunchy, well spiced and lumpia was freshly fried. It wasn't pre-fried if you know what I mean. It was $9. I am glad I got to try this place. read more

Came here because we were craving Lumpia from Alyssandra's in Waikele and the line was too long. Figured that since Lechon was in the name of the place it would be amazing but it was ok. It wasn't crispy like we thought and there was too much onion. The vinegar that was mixed in had a good taste. There was barely a wait for our plate and that was nice. Service was terrible, their "OPEN" sign was still on so I walked up to the window and placed my order. Save your money and support other small businesses that are willing to provide great customer service. After over a year thought this place would get better so I gave it another chance and still the same. For one they messed up my order. I put in a phone order only for them to tell me they was out of longanisa so I asked for pork chops " sorry were out" was the answer. My side order of lumpia was burnt and drenched in oil. My lechon was swimming in oil. My plastic bag that they put my food in had puddles of oil on the bottom. NEVER AGAIN.. Drove all the way from town just for dicks lechon. I've visited here a few times just for their vegetable lumpia. They are crispy, flavorful, and thicker than average. Exactly how a lumpia should be, not those skinny twig lumpia's lol. It was a little oily but the brown bag helped soak up some of the oil. I realized after ordering and looking at the receipt that a mini plate is just a one choice plate. A regular plate is a two choice plate. I got a mini and my boyfriend got a regular. We didn't know this at the time, and if we did, we both would've got a mini size. The sign/menu is confusing but its not impossible to figure out. My plate portion was great. My boyfriends two choice plate was HUGE. The one choice of lechon will suffice anyone. I believe they do add on a dollar charge for lechon which is just weird to me. They should just change the price on the menu and have it included so you know what you're paying and it doesn't seem like a scam. The pancit was really reallllllly good. I don't eat pancit very often but to me it had a lot of flavor and just so yummy. The Lechon was crispy and juicy. The tomatoes and onions raw are so simple but it cuts the fattiness of the pork. It hit the spot. MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR SAUCES. I added vinegar and had some sweet chili sauce for dipping. It was worth the drive to waikele. read more
