One of our go-to burger place. Prices are pretty decent and service are always fast. Food are still hot when served. I always order the deluxe burger because I love the double beef patties. I love their normal burgers as well and they are pretty cheap. I love the fries as well, they are not crispy but I love the combination of it with the burger. Their fries only have one size and ketchups are not free, it cost few cents. I haven't tried their shakes and ice cream but they are cheap as well. My aunt gave this place great reviews so I had to come try it. We stopped by for lunch and there was a little bit of a line, but people were getting their food super fast. I really wanted a deluxe burger, but I really did not want the mayo. I tried to order it without; they don't do that. To save time they make them ahead of time with everything already on there and they just grab them and shove them in the bag. I had to get a cheeseburger instead. The deluxe burger has double patties with lettuce and diced pickles on it too so it just has a little extra than the cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was good but it wasn't that great where I would be like omg I need to stop by here every time I come visit. I did take a bite of my aunt's deluxe burger and they mix the mayo in pretty well with the other condiments on top and it doesnt appear to be a lot of it in the burger. The deluxe burger was better than the cheeseburger, but it was also still not something I need to go out of my way to get. They also have a burger and fries max limit you can buy in one go. 20 burgers and 10 fries. It is so you don't buy their premade supply out. I didn't try the milkshakes or fries. I ordered a Deluxe Burger, Frys, Strawberry Shake, with addition condiment of onions. Cost: $12.44 This is the second time I been to a Dick's. Living in the Tacoma area, there is no reason to make Dick's a designation venue when going to Seattle is more a chore than pleasure. By happenstance I was in the north end of Federal Way for an errand and it was during the lunch meal period. I was not too far from the restaurant. I decided to give the Kent/Des Moines Dick's another try. As taste goes for a burger I have to say I prefer other styles more. I am more an InNOut style more than this. Closest approximation of a Ducks burger is Tacoma's Frisco Freeze burgers. The chopped lettuce and diced onions is not my preferred accompaniment to a beef patty. I like full piece of lettuce, slice of onion, and slice of tomato. My taste bias aside, the beef was tasty and good quality. It had real beef feel and taste. Not like some venues that uses processed patty that was likely pre- or par-cooked. This burger had that "was made fresh" effect. Overall an ok burger. Why just ok? To me, portion size and quality if preparation failed to justify the cost. Additionally, they charge for onions and other condiments. These should be added onto the burger as freebies. What's also an distractor is the fact you have to assemble the burgers with these condiments. (they come separate in tiny paper cup containers) The fries were ok as well as the milkshake. Will not make a special trip to a Dicks. Will make repeat trips to InNOut if line not too long. If I want a non chain franchise burger fix, I would go to Jubilee on 38th in S Tacoma. read more

I've been coming to this DICKS since my first concert at The Coliseum and now it's in KENT. Hell ya and bang your head to a late night Deluxe & Fries in the valley. Now I'll grab a Dicks Deluxe anytime of day, yet nothing tops off a night of boozing & chasing women like the taste of Dicks Drive Inn at 1:30 in the morning. THE DELUXE my favorite burger is a combination of 2 meat patties, lettuce cheese & sauce slapped onto a bun. The fresh cut fires made on the premises and served with either a Coke or handmade strawberry milkshake to cap off a prefect night. Well, only one thing better is when you've manage pull in special friend with you ( wink wink ) to share it with. Not much has changed over the years. Dick's has manage to keep a very basic menu with 4 choices. The Hamburger , Cheeseburger, Special & Deluxe are your Burger choices along with french fries that are hand cut from fresh potato's on the premises for quality. Ice cream scoops & milkshakes for those desiring something sweet or if your maintaining a vegan diet yet just wanna participate in the institution. Meals are served fast and hot. Everything is pretty much pre-made so if you don't want something on your burger you have to wait longer to have it made the way you want it. The dicks deluxe wasn't anything special, just a basic burger. Same with the fries and milk shake. Food is inexpensive though so not horrible if you're looking for cheap eats. read more

Maybe our expectations were really high since we were comparing it to other fast food places that we have back in Cali ( In n Out and Shake Shack ) In our opinion it actually taste like a Micky D's... but just fresher and a step up but not better than In n Out. BF is an Advent Micky D's connoisseur and he said it just tastes like a fresher McDouble. It even looks like a McD's but without the second patty. Stopped in @ 10 pm on Cinco de Mayo to pick up SPICY CHOCOLATE SHAKES for the tribe. A special for today only--really good!!! A nice Spiceology Mexican chocolate with the added kick of chile pepper. Not overwhelming unless you're a spice wimp, but all agreed it is a very enjoyable treat. Lots of spicy shakes were being passed across the counter, so maybe it will become an occasional special! My mom stood in line and when the person ahead of her was done ordering the worker closed their order window without warning my mom or the people in line behind her. She had already waited 5 minutes at that point and when she asked the worker in the next window about the window closing, this worker told her to get back in line and this was due to "short staffing". Sure short staffing is real, but it's no reason they couldn't have announced they would close the line after the last guest or even helped the remaining 3 people from that line in the other two open order windows. For those who already know Dicks, you're lucky and happy there's one in Kent now. For those who don't know, Yo-Yo said it best - "You better ask somebody!" Seattle's landmark burger joint is now a little closer to the airport, thus making it my go-to meal after landing or before flying out of SEA. A quick 10-15 min drive away and a U-turn gets you to the newest Dicks, and it doesn't disappoint. If there's a few things you come to know and expect from Dicks- it's deliciousness, supremely affordable, and consistency. I know exactly what I'm doing to get and how its going to taste, no matter whIch location. For me, it's always a Dicks Deluxe (Two 1/8 pound grilled patties, with melted cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise and pickle relish) $3.65 and a $2.95 real ice cream chocolate shake. Perfection. Dicks seems to always have a crowd, but the lines move along pretty quickly, and it isn't much of a wait. If it's cold outside, I grab my food and jump in the car to eat it. There's something to be said about a burger joint that brings ALL people together in Seattle. Nobody dislikes it, and apparently, even Bill Gates was seen standing in line just like everyone else here. I love Dick's Drive-In! I'm not from the area, I'm actually a California gal, so whenever I come to Washington (past 4 visits), I've hit up Dick's every time as my first meal. These burgers are simply good with no frills; good-tasting, juicy patty, melty cheese, soft bun. I usually get the deluxe. I've heard people try to compare this to In-N-Out, which I don't believe they should because the tastes are way different. This is a take-out only restaurant, so you order at a window and there's no dining in. Always a line whenever I go, no matter what part of the year, but it's always fast. The fries and shakes/floats are simply delicious as well, no complaints. The only thing I find weird is that you pay for condiments, like 10 cents for ketchup. I had a chocolate shake that didn't disappoint. It was busy but not a long wait at all, the staff is quick and friendly. They do have bathrooms available and lots of parking space. Now Yes I came from Vegas when it was just low 100's to Seattle when it was 50's and raining, but this was some pretty good cocoa. I was surprised. Exterior is roped off for good ol Covid safety. There are certain roped off areas set up to ensure social distancing. Everything outside was clean. No litter or any of that. Customer service was on point. Dick's burger. What can you expect? It's a good quick burger for those whose on the go go go. Nothing fancy, nothing extra, just a straight up good burger... if you get the Duck's Deluxe($4 something). All the others, in my opinion is eh. Might as well spend a little more to get double the patty and all the yummy goodness it comes with. The fries ($2.20) just like the burgers, nothing special, nothing crazy, just descent fries. If you want condiments like ketchup, mayo, tarter sauce etc it'll cost you 10 cents each. Be aware the parking set up is a little weird. Where before covid you can drive around the store, like a U but now, in front of the store, they blocked it off to create a nice covered area for lines, which I like. The parking is is pretty tight if you want to park closest to the restaurant. If you're not comfortable with that, there's additional parking in the back, which has plentiful of space. Overall, if you want a quick and good burger I would recommend to come here. If there's a line, I think it's worth the wait. read more

I want to say that I understand that this review will be wildly unpopular. We stopped at Dick's Drive-In in Kent for the first time (our first time at any Dick's Drive-In) and were immediately wowed by the 1950's nostalgia. If you're looking to step back in time, this is your place. We ordered a deluxe burger, a cheeseburger, two fries, and a drink (this was a little over $11). After waiting only a couple of minutes we were given our food and it smelled delicious! After making it back to the car we began by trying the fries... and they were freaking delicious!! The soft hand-cut fries are always amazing no matter where your eat them, and that especially rang true today at Dick's. The fries were soft, salty, and yummy. Now for the burgers. The deluxe has a sauce that my wife was not impressed with; she says it was okay, but definitely not her favorite. My cheeseburger was very, very small and it tasted like it has been sitting for quite some time. If I didn't know any better, I would think that the burger was from McDonald's or Burger King. Despite the fact that it had been sitting, it was hardly anything to write home about. The Verdict: the fries were great, but the burgers won't be bringing us back to Dick's again (I won't say ever, but they weren't very good). I stayed in the car while My Sweetie picked up a few items. He had ordered 4 cheeseburgers, fries, and a chocolate shake. It didn't take long before he was back in the car. I was very disappointed with the lackluster food! The cheeseburger tasted just like it looked - blah. I ended up eating a quarter of a small cheedeburger. The fries were soggy! Buddy turned me on to this place while I was traveling for work. Wasn't sure what to expect but he said it was amazing. The staff was very welcoming and patient with me. I ordered the deluxe because I am a fatty that loves to eat. I had to get fries to complete the meal. My buddy recommended their hand spun shakes so I grab a strawberry one. I am new to ordering condiments so i had to over due it with tartar sauce, because like I said, fatty The burger was great. Two piece of meat covered in melted cheese with lettuce pickle and mayo. Of course I have to throw a bunch of tartar sauce on that beast. Fries were good. I like them a touch crispier but they will still good smoothed with more tartar sauce. The shake.
