My Washington friends highly recommended this fast food chain, saying that it's their staple burger chain in Washington. The location that my friends and I went to was in Kent, located in the same parking lot as Lowe's. The parking area for here can get packed as it's only a take out place and people are eating in their cars. I got the deluxe burger and fries. It looked sad by how small it seemed. But boy. The burger is pretty good! The relish def made the burger goooood. I can see why people would hype this place up. The fries aren't bad either. It's a local burger joint but well worth the trip. if you're averse to long lines, go online to their website and they have line cameras at most of their locations now so you can see what kind of a potential wait there might be. The menu is simple, and the workers move things along very quickly. I have found a fair amount of parking at each location and eat in my vehicle. The parking lots are kept clean. One of the down sides to moving back to WA is no more In-N-Out Burger. I ate at Dick's many years ago and here everyone thinks this place is the greatest place ever for burgers. Decided to give them another try with an open mind. I LOVED the chocolate shake, it was better than the other place. Fries were also good but not as good as In-N -Out. This place doesn't put onions on their burgers and I love GRILLED ONIONS on my burger but that wasn't an option. The burger was good but needed grilled onions. Dicks is always good, this is a regular stop every time I am near. I love that they pay their employees a livable wage and the food is always above average and cheap. I think this is my new go-to place on the way to/from the airport. It's a convenient location to take out of town guests for a quick PNW tradition. It's no Habit burger but I think it's better than In-N-Out. The milkshakes are definitely a must and great addition to any meal. You really can't beat a burger for the price. These burgers honestly don't taste any different compared to other fast food burgers, the only real value and love for them is the price. This is Washington's version of In N Out, but don't expect too much. They are pretty standard burgers that are $3.50 or less. The deluxe burger comes with everything, but you need to order the condiments on the side, which are only a nickel each. The fries were soggy, so I didn't like that. I saw them getting made when I was eating my burger, so I'm curious what made them soggy. I think they were probably sitting out for too long. The float was good! Classic root beer float. read more

Good burgers, very small like a jr bacon cheese burger from Wendy's. Very expensive. The fries are really soggy and cold/oily. The staff was fine. A lot of it was policy. Asked for fresh fries and they refused and said they're supposed to be cold and soggy. Locals recommend this, I've been 3x now and will never be back. Never have i heard of Dick's or the appeal of its menu. i am a big 'cheap eats' person that isn't the mainstream fast food. I was looking for something fast and simple on the way home from a trip to Seattle and came across this gem. Now it is no in n out, more of a sonic burgers type... I would say the best best is to get the dirt cheap cheese burger and a few sides of sauce to spread round. The fries aren't amazing, and the burgers aren't crazy good, but as far as price goes, I would say it is good for its lane. Now why the 4 star review.. Well honestly I do not know, but I liked it and enjoyed the whole experience. I got one of each types of burgers, now the deluxe one had no cheese, yet... it was a superior item on their menu... Went there tonight, they where fully staffed at 01:00 a.m. I had to wait to order because the only counter help was deep in conversation with the security Guard about giving a girl directions to some where. Once I was helped, the service was quick. I ordered 2 fries and left. Now about the fries. They were barely warm. They where limp as to be expected for fresh cut fries. But some how they where dried out and barely edible. I think they were left on the warmer for very to long. I realize it is a new Dick's . But they really need to improve there service and food. I will still patronize the other Dick's locations. But this location should be avoided in my opinion. read more

I hear that Federal Way will be open sometime soon as well, yay for Dick's making it more in the south! This place never fails to hit the spot, especially after a long night out. It tastes like home! I always get the special burger with fries and a coke. No, the drinks are not $1 like McD's, but totally worth paying a few extra bucks in order to get their food items. I've never been an ice cream girl, so I never go for their shakes or sundaes, but my pets always seem to like them, haha. Dicks is that little vintage style drive in that is known for cheap burgers, late nights, and drunk munchies. Dick's new location right in Kent by the Home Depot is literally a replica of the one near the University. The burgers range from $2 - $3 dollars and the fries is just under 2 bucks. In the mood for a shake with your burger? This place has it all. The burgers aren't anything too special, they are beef burgers with a mayo, ketchup, pickle mix and are never piping hot but just warm - I think this has to do with the fact that the burgers are always ready to go. Come to Dicks to enjoy a quick lunch/ dinner, or snack if you are feeling nostalgic or not feeling the commercialized McDonalds or Wendys - there's something about this place that bring you back and while the food isn't anything stellar, it satisfies! read more

Never liked that Dick's get compared to In & Out. They're nothing the same in terms of taste. I Love Dick's because it tastes homey and simple - like what an old fashioned burger place should taste like. I've had Dick's Drive-In on my list of places to try for years. I grew up in California so of course I'm a huge In-n-out fan. I've heard a lot of people compare the two restaurants. I personally didn't think it was even remotely close. I wasn't really into the flavor of the tartar sauce that was on the burger. They don't do substitutes, which was fine with me but just something to keep in mind when looking over the menu. I appreciated how quick the service was. The food is also pretty cheap but their burgers are super small so if you want to be full.. one may not be enough. We got a shake, which I thought was okay. 4th and last visit. Dick's gets a lot of hype because it has been around for decades.Every time we have eaten there, we came away unimpressed. We decided to go back because we were on our way home from a concert and they were open lat at night.. We order 2 Dick's Deluxe, 2 fries and 2 chocolate shakes for a total of $24.95 up from $21.80 the last time. The burgers were tasty but nothing exceptional. The fries were good but very very small relative to other fast food joints. The chocolate shakes were very good and but they need to invest in larger diameter straws to accomodate the very thick shake. Bottom line is there are lots of better burger places but Dick's is okay. Probably will not be back again. Nothing special. read more
