I politely said, "can I please have the rest of my ice cream?" And she said that she will have to charge me for a gotta-have-it size. Bro... what the actual f? I paid to add the brownie, which increased the amount. Why would I then lose a third of my order? So I said ok, and then paid for the brownie and for an increased size, gotta-have-it. And there is a photo booth inside the store that is free to everyone! The inside is a bit dirty/sticky, especially the top of the fridge where they put the ice cream. The servers are mostly teenagers, so most of them are friendly. Are they supposed to sing when they get tips? The best coupon deal is a Buy One Get One coupon for any of the Signature Creation items. Second time my boyfriend has ordered a nutter butter ice cream add brownie add nutter butter and they keep adding mango boba. It's never selected, it's been ordered from both of our accounts. Popped in here on a hot summer afternoon as it sounded so delicious to have an ice cream! Doesn't ice cream always sound better in the summertime? The staff were so nice and kind and handle the demanding customers with grace. I got to give it to them as most kids working in retail and especially in the restaurant industry these days are not very good. They are what are driving my review to be three stars. No complaints about this location! I was about to go to the Covington location, but one look at their food rating and I opted to try another store - downtown Kent, it is! I very, very rarely eat ice cream, but my b-day is close enough to valentine's day that I like to get myself one of the little cakes. They were clearly set up to promote social distancing, along with hand sanitizer. When I went in there was only one other person, and since I wanted the case it was super easy pickings. I didn't see a mini cake like I wanted, but I did find cupcakes and cookie sandwiches!! After much debate, I went with the sandwiches since there are 4 different flavours! All of them were really good, the cookies were definitely made fresh. As an added bonus, I found that splitting them in half was plenty so I basically got 8 cookies. Based on the other reviews, it looks like one of the biggest problems here is customer service. No complaints on my end, the employee was friendly and was able to quickly ring me up and send me on my way. read more

The ice cream is fine. It's cold stone you know what you are getting. The single star is for getting what is expected. The additional star is for the employees who are working hard and doing an excellent job. My primary issue is for the owners of the establishment or the building owners for forcing an environment in which these workers are working during a heat wave WITHOUT AC. The employees are doing their best to serve patrons in awful heat. The freezers are blowing out hot air as well. Furthermore ice cream is melting because the freezers cannot keep cold in the heat. I walked in and simply ordered chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and expressly stated I had a severe anaphylactic reaction to peanuts. Once I got home and began to eat, I realized the employee had placed peanut butter, a rather large amount into my ice cream. This caused me to receive medical treatment and ambulance services. I really like this place. I'm addicted to cake batter ice cream, so it makes it even harder that they're so close by. You can even buy a tub of whatever your favorite flavor is and take it home, which is so dangerous. About 80% of the time, the employees are friendly and welcoming. The other part of the time, they are a little more withdrawn, but never rude or hostile to me. I appreciate how they put up with so many people at a time, especially since this includes large groups, families, etc. I know I couldn't do their job! Used to work here and at the Covington store (owner owns both stores). Ice cream's okay and the waffle cones/bowls are good if made the same day bought; management isn't attentive, so consequently workers didn't really care when I worked there but were given lots of freedom. Lots of flies and other bugs in the store (sometimes in the ice cream too). Brownies are a hit-or-miss; we had to use up all the brownies before we cut up more so sometimes they were hard and stale and/or cut way too small. Chairs and tables were rickety. We were always out of some type of mix-in. P.S. towards another reviewer, management told us to ask customers if they wanted the Love It or Gotta Have It size. We were never to ask if you wanted the Like It because the Like It is cheapest and we're supposed to be making a profit. If you never mention it, some people don't even think about it. We were also told to tell customers if they got a Like It, "Are you sure you don't want the Love It? It's only 50 cents more." Trust me, the workers do not care enough to take your body size into consideration when asking you what you want. read more

Hannah at the Kent station location is horrible and needs to go through some customer service training. I've worked in costumer service for awhile and definitely know good service when I see it. She definitely isn't it. My boyfriend and I went in today around 6 pm and it was dead, aside from someone in the bathroom. When we walked in, Hannah completely ignored us. Didn't say "hi welcome in" or anything. Barely acknowledged us until I started looking at her and then finally she said she had a costumer in the bathroom who she was helping and couldn't service us right then. Fine. When we were able to order, we both ordered love it sized shakes. I ordered first, then my boyfriend. She apparently gave me the last love it sized lid and couldn't give my boyfriend one. She informed us we could go to Jamba Juice and ask for a cup or lid... super professional. Then my boyfriend, who isn't getting paid to problem solve for her, asked for the lid they put on the cups for ice cream. She fills his cup half way and puts the lid on upside down..... like I know you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work at cold stone but you should at least have an elementary education. Hannah needs to get it together. Besides that she also didn't offer my free ads ins for my shake but she conveniently offered it to my boyfriend. I tried three flavors: French vanilla, skinny vanilla, and coffee before deciding that I wanted a mix of chocolate and banana. I asked for 25% chocolate and 75% banana. The guy had to repeat my request because he wanted to make sure he heard it correctly. Hahaa. I had roasted almonds added in my ice cream mixture and it was so tasty! The almonds were really fresh! Cold Stone has been around for a while, so the novelty has worn off for myself, but this is definitely a place to take anyone with a craving for sugary ice cream goodness. This location has always been a good experience for me, but it has been backed up before making the wait a bit long. It seems that the ice cream business is not good enough to keep two people working all the time, but I'm sure we will have ice cream bots before long to resolve this issue. This location is in the heart of a shopping area, so they do have a pretty consistent crowd. If it is too busy for you though, you can take a lap of shopping to get a better opportunity. The flavors are all what you make, and their selection of toppings is always well stocked. If you're not familiar with Cold Stone, they fold in everything on a cold slab, so you get some really fancy looking ice cream with this pretty simple process. If you're a fan of sugar, you will be satisfied here. read more
