Dickeys BBQ is a damn fine place to eat really good and leave full. I'm a Dallas man born and raised. Majority of the family is from Kansas city Missouri so I'd say well experienced with the entire spectrum including Memphis pit and the Carolinas. Yes the gentleman mentioned costs. That's typical for good BBQ. If a choice piece of meat is properly done it can take half a day and often longer to get the beautiful pink smoke ring. Some things are just worth paying for unless a person wants to tackle it at home which requires more skill than "meat on fire". Ha. Texas uses dry rubs as KC is a wet mop sauce. Nothing extravagant but is a place to get your BBQ fix quick. read more

Appearance was very clean. The staff was friendly and polite. A man, I am assuming was a manager did come over and checked on us and offered a coupon for a family meal on our next visit. That was nice to see. Unfortunately, the food was bleh to us. My husband got the Fancy pork sandwich which not very big and it was $6.50 with no sides or a drink. My husband said the pork tasted dry. I got the Holy Kielbasa Jalapeño Cheddar. Which tasted just like a Hillshire Farm Jalapeno Cheddar sausage on a slider bun for $6.50, again with no side or drink. My daughter for the kids meal chicken slider with a side of mac and cheese. She seemed to like it. I just think it is a little overpriced for what it was. If you want pulled pork I would just go down the street to Got Que. i am not impressed with my first visit at Dickey's but I am not opposed to giving it another try. read more

Yeah Covid and all...still...just had delivery today and it is so so so so bad. Obviously, every restaurant is taxed with what is happening these days, so I kept order simple. Wings and a half slab of ribs. There is flavor in each but it is SO obvious that everything is days old and warmed up when an order is placed. Especially the ribs. So bad. Hopefully they figure things out and when all the BS passes they will have some quality control and not allow any garbage to be served or delivered. The remodel did them good. Way less claustrophobic. Prices are reasonable and customer service was very good.

I'm going to hope all the mistakes and issues I experienced are from new employees needing more training/experience. I may re-review if I ever am brave enough to try again. My first visit I ordered the "six pack" which includes two pounds of meat and some sides and bread. Running about $50 after tax. I asked for chicken but they were out so settled on a pound of pulled pork and a pound of ribs. Upon getting home with my order, the pound of pulled pork was missing. I decided I was just going to call them as I didn't have time to run back down there. Eating the ribs and sides first, we found the ribs extremely dry and the green beans swimming (SWIMMING) in liquid that was not very appetizing. The other two sides, the mac and cheese and potatoes were good and ended up being the only things my family of 5 ended up eating. They were good but nothing spectacular. Definitely not worth $50. Calling them I was hoping they would just refund me for the meat that was missing but Ian, the manager on shift, told me unfortunately he could not do that over the phone. He said since I had to come back down he would just replace the whole order for me. He not only told me this over the phone but left a voicemail on my phone stating this. He also said he was going to put me on a list so other managers would know so if he wasn't on shift, I'd be taken care of. Just a few days later I go back. The manager on shift pulls the list and I am not on it. Sadly he refuses to honor the offer of the other manager... even though I have a voicemail (which he won't listen to) stating I could get the "six pack" again, on the house, for my inconvenience. Ultimately he said the most he will do for me is offer me the deal below what I originally ordered, which only includes one meat, bread and some sides. Disappointed (since I was expecting what the other manager offered), I go ahead and accept that as it is better than nothing ... and after all, they did originally just forgot one meat. They had chicken this time (which was good but again, nothing to get overly excited about). And I re-ordered the mac and cheese and potatoes. (Again, both were good, but not spectacular) Once I got to the cashier, I went through the bag to see if they forgot anything and sure enough, the bread was missing. Mind you the restaurant is not busy and they have about 5 employees working the line. After throwing some unbuttered bread into the bag, I'm on my way. Yeah, not going back anytime soon. read more

I went in about a week ago and ordered a one meat pulled pork extra lean plate with waffle fries and baked beans to go. The "staff" was built of what looked like a bunch of teenage boys and I was not impressed with their customer service skills at all. I was concerned that they didn't make my ordered right so when I got in my vehicle I looked through everything. The portion of meat is very small for what they charge and I looked in the tiny package they put my fires in and there were nothing but crumbs and 2 full waffle fries. So I go back in and show the fries to the boy who took my money and said, there's nothing but crumbs in here can get a different side?, he looked at the fries and completely agreed with me, told the boy who gave me the fries in the first place and it was corrected even though I asked for a different side since I did not want to wait for them to make fries. Today, I go in and order one meat plate pulled pork extra lean and a two meat plate ordered the same way. Two of the previous boys were there, one asked me which meats for the two meat plate, I said I wanted double pulled pork extra lean, he said ok. I paid $30 & change for these two meals. When I got home, I opened the containers and they looked exactly the same. I called and asked to speak with a manager, the boy who answered "josh" informed me that he was one of the mangers, so I proceeded to tell him that my 2 meat plate only had one. His attitude is argumentative and rude, he explains to me that the 2 meat plate has one more ounce of meat than the one meat plate. The boy who took my order never said anything about this when I said double the pulled pork. I'm confused and questioning this, he says it's normally 6 ounces and I watched him "the other boy" measure out 7 ounces. I'm still don't understand and say so you charge $3 more for a two meat plate but only put one more ounce? And, I say , both of these look like there's a lot of fat in them, I asked for lean. He's laughing arrogantly and with an attitude and says yes again and says some bs about the fat in it , then just sits there silently. I've asked for lean before and I know what it looks like, these were not lean. I said, so you're just not gonna offer to do anything about this? He says no. So I asked for a name and number for his manager. He said his GM was there but she was outside so when she comes back in he'll have her call me. He asked for my name and number which I gave to him. He repeated my number wrong so I corrected him. I never got a call from this GM. I tried to eat this food, it was awful!! The cornbread that I had to pay to upgrade was super hard and dry. The meat had a ton of fat in it & the Mac n cheese looked and tasted like it had been out forever too it was inedible. I waited all afternoon & evening, still no call. I guess they don't care about the quality of there food, they don't care about their customers and these boys they hire are rude, disrespectful brats and shouldn't be working there. I've been there twice in two weeks, both times it was completely dead, that says something. I'll never go there again or advise anyone I know to go there. For what they charge, the food should be pretty damn near perfect and the portions should match the prices. It's a rip off. Stay away!!! If I could give no stars I would. read more

The employees looked overwhelmed and unorganized. The place is new so I want to like them, and cut the employees some slack if they are new, but the service really was lacking. The food was not bad - it's a quick BBQ joint. I would try them again and hope they get their service dialed in. It's not there yet. If they get it together, They could do very well in the area and we observed a steady line customers coming in. There is another locally owned BBQ joint one exit down on Greenway next door to the Fry's supermarket. I have never tried them but now I want to go there and do a comparison. read more

I preordered a Party Pack one week prior for a surprise Birthday Party for my husband, it happened to fall on Mothers Day. The food was delivered at the specified time, accurate, hot and delicious! There was plenty of food and everyone was more than satisfied! My only "problem" would be it would be nice if I were able to choose my own 3 sides, however, other than that, my hubby was surprised and all guest were well fed. I will be going back for sure! The BBQ smell soon as you walk in is mesmerising. Get the rack of pork ribs and the meat falls off the bone. Their sauces are vibrant and add a burst of flavor to any cut. The kielbasa is delicious too. I don't think you can order anything wrong. They have daily specials all week. "So I just ordered 88$ worth of food through the GrubHub. Fees were cheaper than UberEats. The food we received is great. BUT they forgot the Spicey BBQ sauce in the order. No sauce at all. So sad. Tipped the driver anyway. Not totally his fault. I think he should check his orders. So I gave him a 10$ tip. Going to have to eat without sauce. The wings are very dry. This is not the same quality as the one in Mesa. The food was on the bottom edge of warm, for best results I recommend taking it to subway to be toasted as they also use square (2 triangles) of sliced cheese. Cheese should be somewhat melted when placed on top of the chicken in a chicken taco. Overall the staff is super nice and very friendly and the food has potential but the warming methods need to change. Oh and the BBQ sauces are good but way to hot, the small plastic cup was to hot to carry to the table and started to loose its rigidity. I hope things get better as I always try to support businesses in surprise. read more

I've always wanted to try this place and finally did. The chicken was amazing as well as the spicy BBQ sauce. I also tried a brisket slider that was really good. The only down side is they forgot the Cole slaw on the slider and we ordered the family pack and received our food without rolls? The macaroni is very very basic. I am not sure as to why this Dickey's location has received poor reviews. Each time my family and I visit this location, we have an enjoyable time. We appreciate the friendly staff that greet us as soon as we walk in, and enjoy the casual conversations with them while paying at the register. Just like when you smoke/bbq your meat at home, it never is the exact same each time, and that is the same for any bbq (or any kind) of restaurant. Sure, there are times when they sell out of items (which is a compliment to them) but we have never been served cold/overcooked meats or sides, and have never been disappointed with the quality/quantity that we're provided. We have visited this location when there were lines out the door, and when there was immediate seating available, and each time the restaurant is clean inside and out (even the restrooms!!). Kuddos to this Dickey's crew for being courteous and for the superb service given. :) read more

We ordered 3 lbs of each (chicken, brisket & pulled pork) for a party over Memorial Day weekend and the service and food were excellent. The woman at the counter even helped me bring the food out to my car. Our sides (mac & cheese, cole slaw, and beans) were also very good. This is a chain restaurant, the food is good, staff is friendly, menu a little confusing on your fist visit. It's a stand in line to order type place, there's are a few tables. The staff does a good job of cleaning the tables as people leave but can be busy at lunch time, may have to wait a few minutes tor a table. The turn over is usually pretty quick. Better than most fast food places but it does cost more. read more

We made the mistake this evening of stopping at Dickies. As we walked in I felt the place was not clean. We ordered a rack of ribs for $27.98 and two large sides(coleslaw and mac n cheese) with 4 dinner rolls. Lets start with the Mac n cheese. It was dry and thick just awful. The coleslaw was acceptable. The rolls were like hockey pucks. Now the ribs. Lots of gristle and small bone pieces. Not great flavor. They were very dry (seemed old). I've eaten at many Dickies in Arizona and always liked their food. I had the pulled pork sandwich today. It was pretty dry. I wanted to get the onion strings and I was told they don't have their fryer yet. I also was craving an ice cream cone. They don't have the ice cream machine yet either. This is the first time I ever left a Dickies BBQ disappointed. I was excited to have a Dickey's Barbecue on the west side. This is my first visit to this restaurant and I don't plan to return. I was very disappointed in the portions. I was hungry when I got there and went away hungry. The smoked turkey was unimpressive that I had. The sides were equally as disappointing the cream spinach and baked potato casserole we're not what I expected. Portions small and nothing special compared to other barbecue places that I have been to in the valley. My buddy that was with me felt pretty much the same way was not impressed.
