Best BBQ we had in a long time. Service was friendly and the food was amazing! Worth to try.

After waiting for one of the two people in there working last night to take order for 15 minutes, the food we got was still cold. The ribs they pulled out of the refrigerator were not heated up nor was the brisket. I would only suggest eating here if there are zero other options. Generous servings with super friendly staff. We popped in & I was indecisive and slow to order. My server was so sweet & patient with me. We had brisket sandwiches & they were out of this world. This place has gone down hill! Our previous order had to be partially refunded because they forgot several sides- they even messed up the sandwiches and didn't put bbq sauce in the bag. Tonight, my husband checked the bag before he left and they forgot one of the bbq sauces. When we went home to eat, us sandwich was missing cheese, the brisket I paid extra for on my potato was actually pork. I was already irritated and then we were both lucky enough to find plastic wrap in our pork, so disgusting. We used to be frequent customers but I honestly can't remember the last time we received an order with everything we paid for, had the meals correct and it tasted good. read more

This place has some of the best Bbq' ive ever had. The pulled pork sandwich is not only built for the hard working hungry man piled high with a hungry busting amount of pulled pork. They offer a good selection of sauces to add to your taste buds and the sides are plentiful hot and cold . My sandwich was so stuffed with pulled pork the leftovers lasted me two days of home cooked variable dishes. The service is friendly and efficient. Went to pick up to go food at 8:30- they were rather put out just having a customer in there. They also couldn't provide any fried items because they said the had shut the fryers off already. 10 minutes after picking the food and arriving home, everything was cold. I start taking the sandwich apart to microwave it and found a piece plastic wrap and the slice of cheese just crumbled when I tried to take it off. Stopped and grabbed brisket to go. Turned out to be 60% fat. Was so disgusting . Would have returned it if I was at restaurant. I called to let manager know that they need to train employees better. Called to pick up an order at 7:50 pm they supposedly close at 9. The man that answered the phone was completely bothered by my call and even asked how long it would take me to get there. I asked if I could get a side of okra and he proceeded to tell me no we turned off the burner. When we got the food we asked if they closed at 8 instead of 9 and they said "no we just ran out of trash bags." When we got home the food was cold and was the scraps of everything left over. My parents love to frequent this place when going through town so they brought me here today for lunch. It did not disappoint. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was massive. Could be shared with 2 people. I had the green beans as a side and they were very heavily peppered which didn't bother me but might affect someone's decision if they don't like pepper. The baked potato casserole was a nice side as opposed to a traditional French Fry. I really like the options of the various bbq sauces. read more

TL;DR: Small cold portions served on a sheet pan. Terrible customer service. Avoid. There is a kid cosplaying that he's a redneck behind the counter. Every time he opened his mouth some stupid fake Southern accent and cheesy insult would belch forth from his prison goatee. In his best Deliverance voice: "I'm gunna chop yer meat now, boy heehee" *loudly bangs tiny portion of meat on cutting board with dull knife to make it edible due to gristle - dramatically dumps shreds of cold dry meat on sheet pan muttering something about tourists* "We ain't go nomo rolls". No offer to sub the roll for a side or another starch, just a dismissive pissy hand wave after he got my money. The other guy working the register was cringing, and looked down sheepishly when I commented. I genuinely felt sorry for him having to deal with his disgruntled co-worker for eight hours. I don't know if he's related to the owner or if he genuinely resents the customers or whatever, but his personality was abrasive enough to send me to Rib City from here on out. read more

I have always liked Dickey's BBQ and this place is no exception. My brisket sandwich was tender, lean and flavorful which, combined with their spicy sauce, made for a delicious lunch. Dickey's simply isn't good BBQ. Reheated smoked meat is poor form, and if a place is serving multi-day old smoked meats, then it's not an authentic BBQ joint, or at least not one that takes any pride in their product. We shared a three meat combo, with turkey, chicken, and pulled pork, along with jalapeno beans and coleslaw. The turkey / chicken is cubed in 3/4" irregular cubes, and almost fall-off-the-bone, except there is no bone, so it's just falling apart, cubed mushy meat. The pulled pork was clearly reheated, or had been sitting in a warmer for days; it was greasy and grey, like it was microwaved. Sad little pork :( Even the sauces were mediocre. For sides, the colelaw was diced cabbage with Marzetti coleslaw dressing. The beans were the only redeeming quality of the meal. We would have rather had Subway than here, unfortunately. It was okay for me. When we got there, they ran out of chicken, sausage and something else. And they didn't have enough ribs for us to order two racks. However, the pork was good. Drive 20 mins to arrive at 8:30p when they close at 9p and they tell you you can't eat in and they only have sausage. If you are't going to stay open til 9p then don't advertise that you will. I wouldn't have driven to come here. Next time I won't bother. Don't waste your time either. read more

I usually LOVE Dickey's so I was thrilled to find there was one a couple of towns over from me. Went to this one on a Friday night and it appears understaffed. Took longer to get through line. Sweet tea was completely out and when I asked if they had more or could make more they were just like "nope." Asked for fried okra when I ordered, but they didn't drop the okra in the fryer until I paid, adding to the delay while waiting for the okra to cook. Whoever owns or runs this one: you need to do better. read more

Good slow smoked barbecue served up quickly. One of the few places in Colorado that has actually done Southern-style fried okra the right way. Great, super-friendly staff helped us out with several allergies and took great care in putting together the plates. read more

Recently had the Dickey's Barbecue at an event they catered and it was very good. The meat, both ribs and brisket were melt in your mouth. The delivery was on time, set up efficiently and there was more than enough food per person to make even the hungriest men happy. read more

I will never get talked in to trying this McDonalds style BBQ place again. Seemed like a good idea but no way this place should survive. FINALLY! I have been eating Dickey's BBQ since the 70's and am thrilled to see them in Rifle. The Brisket was moist and tender, the onion tangles with to die for and the Okra was awesome.
