Horrible service. Start to finish. We had finished our entire chip basket before a server greeted us and took our drink order. It took 25 minutes after we were done eating until our server asked us if we needed a box. There were only 4 tables of people in the entire restaurant and more servers on staff than that. Ok, I have to strongly disagree with other posters...we went her a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon, and I have to say, it was by far the worst dining experience we've had in Colorado. The food here is good. I have eaten here several times and have been generally satisfied with the quality of the food and the portions. However the service is horrible lately. The restaurant is understaffed, disorganized and the servers are untrained. No matter what time of day I've gone in the food has taken close to an hour to come out of the kitchen and the servers have virtually forgotten about my table. Do not go here if you're in a hurry to eat or even are expecting to get out of the restaurant in less than two hours. read more

Had dinner here with two of my buddies last night. The margaritas are really tasty. Our meals were delicious, too! They bring you chips and salsa as soon as you sit down, which is nice. I had a chicken burrito and my friends had enchiladas and chimichangas, all tasty. I work next door so I will definitely be back. Outdoor patio! I hate to give this place a poor review, but I really have to. First of all, I will say that I really want a good Mexican restaurant in New Castle, as we desperately need one. Coming into the restaurant, we were very impressed with the beautiful design of the interior. Arriving on opening weekend, the inside was packed, so we sat outside. This is where things went downhill. We received the chips and salsa. The chips were alright, though some of them were undercooked. The salsa was among the worst I have ever had. I was hoping for a tomato based salsa, but this tasted like it was based on Tabasco. It really was bad, and it seemed tables around agreed. Service took a while to return, but seemed like they were busy, and working hard, so understandable. We ordered drinks. My piña coladas were not blended properly, and contained near-ice cubes. This was bad, considering how thin of the straw. The margaritas around the table came in pitchers, as requested, but it was clear that there was very little alcohol, and far too much mix. We did get a refund on one of the two pitchers as it was barely drinkable. We then ordered food, as a vegetarian, this was very difficult. We were not able to get an answer as to whether or not the beans contained meat. We decided to order a veggie burrito with the beans on the side. The beans were inside of the burritos. We ate them reluctantly. Our food was slightly warm, and very bland. The burrito consisted of lettuce, tomato, beans, and cilantro. It seemed very boring and deserved a 3/10. Not good for the $8 price. Nothing seemed better than store bought. Apparently the carne asada that some of my group ordered was even worse. We watched as he struggled to cut the meat with the butter knife. We all left hungry, and went to another restaurant. The receipt wasn't split among our different groups, and was very difficult to divide among ourselves as everything was labeled the same with different prices. We left very unhappy, and are unwilling to return until we hear that things are improved. Apparently we weren't the only ones who hadn't enjoyed it, as the next restaurant we went to was full of people disappointed with Hacienda El Patron. I really want to see this place improve after seeing all of the hard work, and time that they put into the place. Hopefully the next time we return is better. read more

This place was really good. Very authentic Oaxacan food is their specialty. Everyone at my table was really pleased with their dishes. Really interesting and creative stuff. I wasn't familiar with Oaxacan food but I think I really like it! I'm not quite sold yet on mezcal, though. The liquor is an acquired taste, but I'd be willing to try it again. My drink was very strong and I just wasn't used to the flavor of mezcal vs. tequila. Really cute decor inside and a great location. I live 45 minutes away but I'm sure I'll be back. read more

We tried this place for the first time last night and it was delicious! The service was really great. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful on the inside they have really put a lot of work into the building and it shows. It is very nice to have a Mexican restaurant in new castle and this place did a great job! We ordered the seafood stuffed chili rellanos ,the special of the night , and they were fabulous ! We had the house margaritas and they were perfect strong and smooth! The worst experience ever! The service and food was terrible, it felt like it was overheated from several days ago, all dried out. The amount of food given was not even half of what it shows on the menu, and very over priced. The aguachiles $18 dollars and only reach for a single tostada. The michelada of 7 Mares of $ 26 came with only 4 shrimp, 4 slices of cucumber, and 2 slices of tomato, it's ridiculous! The steak tacos, the beef was hard like burnt and tasted awful. A seafood dish that was ordered, the mussels literally all of them came empty. Which by the way The manager,Jazmin, said that most of the time they serve them empty because thats exactly how they received the order. Really? Why should I pay over $25 for a dish that has empty mussels. Jazmin was very rude, did not even offer an apology nor any discount for the horrible food we recieved. As i was complaining to her about all the food she was laughing at me. So unproffesional. I endend up paying over $120 for a fatal and disgusting meal for myself and my family. peor experiencia! We recently celebrated my birthday at 2 Coronas with 2 other couples. It was just fine. No complaints... I had pork carnitas tacos, hubby had carne asada, someone else had steak and shrimp fajitas. I did not get a tomatillo sauce with my tacos which I found odd... there was no sauce, but it wasn't a big deal. Drinks were good. Large-ish restaurant with outdoor seating. Quiet atmosphere. First thoughts were, WOW this place doesn't smell like grease and it's very clean unlike most traditional Colorado Mexican restaurants. My Margarita Regional was wonderful- a blend of coconut milk, pineapple juice and tequila, served in a ceramic mug, topped with fruit. I have to say that if you are expecting traditional Mexican Food slopped onto a plate, then reconsider this place. The chips and salsa were average and tasty. Their Moles were delicious! I ordered the chicken enchiladas mole and they were outstanding, not covered in excessive cheese, just enough sauce, and the chicken was tasty. You could actually SEE the three enchiladas on my plate instead of them swimming in extra sauces. Our friend ordered the Chicken with Black Mole and we all agreed, it was VERY tasty. As my boyfriend stated, "the flavors are very complex and smokey". The others in our party ordered plates of grilled meat, served on crisp tortillas with a wonderful display of grilled jalapenos and a whole grilled onion, served with warm corn tortillas. We really enjoyed Hacienda El Patron. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. We had lunch outside and it is a very nice outdoor setting. Everyone in our group loved their food. I haven't had mole sauce since I was in Mexico. The food is authentic. The menu has a lot of fish dishes and no one in our party eats fish. The menu has many other choices besides fish.
