There were lots of latino patrons in the joint so that was promising. lol It was around 4pm on a Friday and the place was busy but we were seated quickly. What we swallowed: *HORCHATA: Not too sweet. *PUPUSAS-REVUELTAS: Ok what??!?!?!? I saw those on the menu and you know I had to order them! Pork and cheese for the win. They were delicious and definitely hit the spot! *CARNE ASADA BURRITO: Ginorous and tasty! *PIZZA: Pineapple and pepperoni for my little ones. Yes, we love pineapples on our pizza, don't come for me! Absolutely disappointed. First bite of my $12+ personal pizza was just a very large mouthful of completely raw onion. Immediately puked and was done with the meal. Beyond that the sizes for rice and beans are either less than a serving for a single person or literally enough for a full family of 6 or 7 people - nothing in between. Over the last 8 years, and eating here several times weekly, we have easily spent over $10,000 at this place. Last time we went, they charged us $3.50 for chips and salsa. In all the years we've kept this place afloat, this has never happened before, and it won't happen again because I'm not spending another dime here. GTFOH with that nonsense. read more

I have eaten here three times. Once for tacos during the pandemic bc nothing else was open, it was cold and disgusting. I ordered take out pizza bc nothing else was open (except fast food) , it was not bad, but really not very good and cold. Then for breakfast, because our favorite place Order Up was not open. Terrible service, the waitress was not nice, all our food was freezing cold, really chinsey on the beans, and was not good. Stopped by on our way to fruita. Family run. Really nice people. We got a carna asada burrito. With tax it was closer to $11 and it comes with a small side of chips and salsa. Personally it felt steep. BUT it was a good burrito and I see why people like it. It has the umami flavors that keeps you coming back for more. I can only imagine the smothered version is to die for. They were seriously some of the friendliest people I've met in a long time. We got our meal in less than 10 mins and they kept apologizing profusely for taking so long. Which is crazy! read more

We ate here tonight and the food was good. But on of the 3 of us found a grey hair in our Quesadilla! We informed the waitor of what we found and he said that he would let them know in the kitchen. When we went to check out the owner argued with us and told us that his workers wear hair nets and that there was no way it was one of them. We then told him she pulled it out of her food and it was covered in sour cream. He continued to argue with us. We won't be returning to eat here again after this terrible experience. read more

Worst carne asada plate I have ever had hands down! Over cooked, dry, bland, bone, gristle, and fat. Horrible cut of meat. Service was awful, do not see why this place has great reviews. Been here twice now ordered two different things, last time was years ago and I wasn't impressed. Today is the last time they will ever get a dollar from me. I honestly feel like because we were white we got bad service, server came to our table twice in the hour we were there, once for our drinks and once for our food. We were impressed with this place! Friendly (and accommodating) service, reasonable prices, and incredibly delicious pizza. My husband and son split a large supreme. They both thought it was exceptional (and even had a few pieces left to take with them). I ordered a mini pizza and it was excellent, too....the 4 pieces were more than enough for my meal! We ate lunch here in a Friday. There were only 2 other tables of guests. Staff was friendly and attentive. The space is small and looks old but was very clean. It is located right next to Rifle Creek but there is not a good view from the restaurant, even from their outdoor seating. The food was typical Tex/Mex. It was not bad but not wonderful either. Food: Not the best Mexican food I've ever had, rather subpar actually. I ordered the taco plate which included three tacos , rice and beans. I also ordered chiles toreado and Orchata for a drink and here's my review of the food: Tacos were subpar and small portions, the chicken was boiled or maybe baked and then put in water with some tomatoes, it was not good. I asked for onions and cilantro only, but it came out with cheese on top and the tomatoes the waitress said was in with the chicken. I ate it, but it was not very good, absolutely no seasoning. The rice and beans were fair, nothing better than any other Mexican restaurant. The chiles toreado were entirely under-seasoned however they were cooked well. Cost: For the small portions and the subpar cooking and seasoning, it was too expensive in my opinion. This is the most expensive Mexican food I've ever eaten and I eat all over the USA. it cost me $12.97 for the taco plate, the chile toreados and one orchata. This shouldn't have cost more than $10. Dining Area: Small dining area, but seems sufficient, no one was waiting for seating and there were seats still available, but I did get there around opening. Parking: Standard small parking lot, seems sufficient. Service: The service was lacking. Either the waitress didn't take the time to listen to my order and messed it up or the cook didn't pay attention to the order and then the waitress didn't check it before giving it to me. Either way, the waitress wasn't paying attention. Then I asked another waitress for red salsa and she brought me green salsa. I ran out of my drink and was never asked if I wanted more or something else, horrible, just horrible. It wasn't busy at all so there really isn't a good excuse for these mistakes and lack of service. Summary: I don't go to Rifle, CO often but when I do I'll find another place to spend my hard earned money. I don't like going to a restaurant and having my order messed up, my requests messed up and running out of drink. I would have given one start except that despite the waitresses constantly messing up and me pointing it out to them, they stayed pleasant throughout the entire visit. read more

any place that has Hurachas and Pupusas on the menu is special to me. It is always fun and tasty to see the local twist on these dishes. The huracha was so packed with goodies, and lots of asada. topped with the mexican cheese it was one of the best for sure. the pupusa was good, and fresh, and the topping had just a bit of zing. - very nice. The salsa with cabbage that came with the chips was interesting and tasty. Have patience, everything takes time, If you want fast food, go to a fast food place. This is a good little Mexican restaurant. The food is closer to authentic than most Mexican restaurants I have gone too. The gorditas and tacos were great. The atmosphere is a little on the rustic side but clean and friendly. I took note that the local construction guys seemed to like the food a lot. I'll be going back to Lilly's for sure. Found this little joint on our way home from Colorado...and was actually pretty good. We all really enjoyed our food. And I actually really liked that they had cabbage in the salsa. Holy cow this is amazing food. Driving a big dodge pulling a 40 ft trailer we were nervous about the 2 miles off the freeway (and through a sort of neighborhood) but parked by the liquor store there was a big gravel turnaround area and walked across the bridge there. Beautiful location and awesome small family restaurant. Had a carne asada breakfast combo and my wife got pupusas and we liked them so much we got 4 more to go for our lunch. Prices were not too bad, $3.50/ pupusa is about $1.00 more than I've ever paid in the most expensive pupusa place, but the rest of the menu is priced really reasonable. Clean place, well kept and tasted awesome! Two thumbs up, this is our new road trip stop when passing through Rifle CO! Can't wait to come back and try their pizza. read more

Respectable blue collar food in a town without many great options. My wife had pupusas, which were fresh and very good. I had pizza, which was basically fine (in the same way that a good frozen pizza you cook at home is 'basically fine'). Not the tidiest establishment and not the most attentive service, but everyone was friendly and the value was good. read more

The food was ok but they got 1 star because they are not dog friendly. We couldnt set on the patio outside with our dog. He is well behaved and doesn't bark or bother anyone. Every other place in Colorado state allows this on outside patios. They're going to loose alot of business because alot of people bring their dog on vacation. read more
