Thank you Shawn!!! From start to the very lengthy marathon of getting my 4 new appliances purchased and installed, you never left me...my calls, my visits back to the store, my unending questions...thru it all you made me laugh, you made me smile, and you were absolutely right, it's been worth it all cause I have the exact appliances that work for me and my lifestyle Couldn't be more PLEASED and I know EVERYTHING about my appliances, not because I spent hours reading the manuals, but because you did a short and very knowledgeable tutorial for me on each of the 4 appliances I purchased. You are worth every penny they pay you and MORE! Thank You, Sue read more

We called them to check on the ice maker that wasn't working from the Cafe fridge we purchased from them. 6 hours after they were supposed to arrive the repair person got here. The initial repair person that came clearly had no idea what he was doing, and spent about 20 minutes trying to figure something out before he called in backup. Once the other person came he repeatedly said to the first person " Are you drunk? Now I'm really worried. You need to go home and get some sleep" And then later "Just go home and get rest. I'm worried about you." This was a really strange and uncomfortable situation. The second guy kept trying to show the first things, ask him questions, etc. The first guy literally could not do anything or answer a single question. Ultimately, I was told it was a $500+ repair for an issue, but nothing was shown to me, and after asking to have the quote emailed to me, I never actually got it. Unprofessional from the beginning, and wildly bizarre that they would send someone out who was in such a state. (Not to mention still charging me for the visit). read more

miserable service experience on a refrigerator. Technician quoted over $900 of GE parts to fix without performing a single diagnostic test. When challenged, he stated he did not need to perform any , the information we gave him told him everything he needed to know. Charged $100 and disappeared. Pathetic excuse for a service call. I called the store to speak with a manager about my experience and was not allowed to speak with a manager even after I explained the issue in detail to her as she insisted I do. Really? Dick Van Dyke can kiss this 20 year customer goodbye. Costco beats them all day long on prices and ChatGPT and YouTube are a hell of a lot better at service. By the way, the new part I needed was $40 and took 10 minutes to install. read more

Service was not up to par. no one got out of their seat and when we stood at the desk and asked for a specific part, she just stared at us and said she needed a part number and when we tried to explain the appliance that we have she still did not get up out of seat ( which was across the room) or answer us. terrible service. We just walked out. read more

On Monday, November 10, 2025, Brandon and Jacob installed our new GE stove. They were incredible!! Fast, efficient, clean and professional. I was simply amazed. Old stove out, new one placed, setup (leveled) done. I would have expected twice as much time to do what they did. Every aspect was done. Great guys and great service. Please let them know how impressed I was. read more

I bought a new refrigerator/freezer to replace one that was dying. My house is a split-level house making it difficult to get large appliances up the stairs and into the kitchen. It took 2 attempts, but they were finally able to get the old fridge down the narrow stairwell and around the stair railings without damaging anything. New fridge is installed and appears to be working fine. read more

We are not going to do business with DVD again in the future. We believed in all of their marketing talking about their warranty and how much they stood behind their products. We bought a dishwasher, washer & dryer, and a refrigerator from them over the past few years. The freezer on the refrigerator just stopped working and after 2 of their techs looked at it and worked on it, they decided it could not be repaired due to manufacturing issues. They offered us $288 in store credit towards the purchase of a new fridge, eventhough our 5 year warranty would not expire until the end of this coming June. They say that is the prorated value of the fridge we spent $3,000 for at their store. We won't be doing business with them anymore read more

if you buy one of the most expensive appliances, in our case a Speed Queen dryer, and the heating element goes out, plan for several weeks even with their so called warranty to get repaired. I called DVD for a repair to my GE dryer I purchased from them 10 years ago. I made a morning appointment for Friday 8/26. I was sent a text saying the tech would arrive between 10-12. I later received a message stating the tech is running behind. No big deal until he did not arrive almost 1 hour and 45 minutes later. I called due to an issue with what I thought was the timer on the dryer. I was partially correct. The tech took the knob from one control and placed it on the timer control. The timer worked as it should. $84 dollars. Ridiculous. I whave bought appliances at a big box store and have had no issues. Should have called Ken's appliances. read more

Purchased a Bosch range at the end of November, 2024, and still hasn't been delivered. and now it's almost March 1, 2025. The stove was not cheap, but I guess they can use my money in anyway they see fit. Not happy as they keep using the same excuse, "We are at the mercy of the manufacturer and have no control over this." I heard the same excuse from 3 sales people. I think I will be seeing my attorney. read more

I have bought a number of appliances from Dick Van Dyke but this has been the worst experience ever. We purchased a Cafe refrigerator in November and still have not received it. I have reached out to head of sales with no help. I just found out it has been delayed once again until January 4. I'm glad I went to Lowes to get the matching double oven. It was delivered in a week. read more

Terrible customer service. Have been lied to and had multiple service calls on my fridge bought new a little over two years ago. It got replaced a year ago August with a new one now they say the new one is non repairable and want to replace. Was just told I am only getting half credit for a new one. They dated it back to the first one I bought not when I got the new one. Encourage all to never patronize them! Should have read the rest of the reviews before I bought. Wasn't going to give even one star but had to do at least one. read more

DVD has been extremely disappointing. They have been out to fix our refrigerator over eight times in the pasts year, and the manufacturer now says the fridge is unrepairable. DVD will NOT honor their no lemon policy. Their 5/10-year stress-free warranty is still valid, but they are not honoring it. They will only give a prorated amount, and you have to buy the NEW appliance with them. I agree with other reviews; it is so disappointing they must be under new ownership because they didn't used to be this way. The BBB should really stop them from advertising their warranty because they don't fulfill it. read more

SPRINGFIELD ILLINOIS STORE. This company is HORRIBLE! I purchased a refrigerator online due to COVID. I gave the salesman the dimensions needed. When it arrived it was far too small for the area. Nonetheless I kept it because my other refrigerator was totally incapacitated. I immediately found a huge door ding on the refrigerator. It took three weeks and the part they sent also had a door ding. Thee weeks later they fixed it but I told them the refrigerator kept running. They said that was normal. Shortly after ice cream stopped freezing in the freezer! They came back and now want to replace the compressor. I told them I wanted a replacement Unit. The very rude, customer service phone taker I spoke with said it requires service for four different problems in a year before they will replace a new refrigerator? She said it is in your contract! Which you don't even get until after delivery. They sure don't share that information with you when you purchase the item! Then I asked to speak to a manager and the rude unskilled girl refused. I tried to speak to sales who would not transfer me to a manager or owner only advised me to call back to the same girl I spoke with. Spent 1.5 hours trying to get Customer Service at GE to answer the phone. PLEASE NEVER PURCHASE FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY! read more

Update to 7/7/23 review: So, back from a short vacation, we called the store again. Margaret the saleslady seemed to vaguely remember us. We asked her where our new LG refrigerator was. She sure as heck didn't know, but she would get right on it and call us right back. Well, guess what, "Looks like it fell through the cracks." Forget the fact that it would take a pretty big crack to allow a refrigerator to fall through, but the fact that she had to look it up? If SHE had been MY customer, I would have been on it daily, and I would be able to answer my customer's request as to its whereabouts off the top of my head. I guess that's part of the reason why I didn't have to sell appliances for a living. (Retiree) read more

I purchased a high end Kitchen Aid refrigerator 2 years ago. Immediately had problems with the ice machine which took over a month for their service department to solve. In December I noticed the freezer not cooling and called for service. Had to wait 2 weeks for someone to come out by then the refrigerator had also stopped cooling. It has now been 2 months (during Christmas mind you) of not having a working fridge in my home ( small one in the garage). They have sent out 4 different technicians who say something different each time. I continually have to call them to ask of the status of my repair, instead of them reaching out to me. In short terrible service and no result. read more

I am beyond frustrated with Dick Van Dyke Appliance world. I absolutely do not recommend them. Only reason we purchased the washer and dryer from the was because of the warranty. Called to get it serviced and they do not have a record of a warranty. What? You mean the only reason we bought from them was due to them having a warranty and we don't have a warranty? Their parts department is horrible to speak with. I believe they want to make it hard to get service so you just give up. It is working as I am about to give up. TOTAL SCAM and not worth your time and energy. NOT A GOOD COMPANY! STAY AWAY! read more

They fixed our refrigerator and washing machine in years past, and we had perfectly good experiences. So we called them when our dishwasher went on the fritz a couple months ago. Alas, these are pandemic times. Two guys came out to look at it, my wife dealt with them and said the younger guy was fine but the older one was unwilling to put on a mask, finally put on a neck gaiter (hint: not a mask) and proceeded to brag about how we was unvaccinated and going to stay that way, which would totally be just his business if he wasn't at OUR house. Anyhow, they identified the problem, then came back about three weeks ago with the supposed replacement part. Again, my wife dealt them, said the older guy just stayed in the van to avoid having to put on a mask, but then he had to begrudgingly come in because the younger guy was having issues. So he came in and found that they had the wrong part. Apparently it was the box for the right part, but with the wrong part inside, which they blamed on the supplier. By that point I advocated for just finding someone else do handle the service, but my wife said we were stuck with them because she had already given them $60. So we go a couple more week without a dishwasher. Then about half an hour ago "Jason" (that's what he goes by) shows up. I open the door and ask him if needs a mask, since there wasn't one in sight. He glares at me as he pulls his neck gaiter over his mouth and nose. I tell him that's not a proper mask, and I'd be happy to give him one. Then I get "How is this not proper? It's a mask. It's the only one that I can breathe in." So after weeks without a dishwasher and the wrong part fiasco, here I am having this guy arguing with me and trying to impose the terms under which he can come into my house. I told him to either put on a proper mask or send somebody else. He left saying that "I did exactly what I had to do - I put on a mask." After all this, we don't want them to send somebody else over - we just want our money back and are already looking for someone else to get the job done right and show a smidgen of respect. read more

We bought a very expensive new refrigerator from Dick Van Dyke. But we found that after getting it in November it started making a rattle in Feb and we called for service. The guy came and said it was a defective compressor cooling fan. They had to order the parts. It should take a couple weeks we were told. No call back for over a month so we called them. Oh they had the part. Didn't call. Set up an appt to install the new parts. Have to wait for the call of when they're coming than wait for them to show. Guy gets here and discovers the wrong part was ordered. So now we are waiting again. Not at all impressed with the service from Dick Van Dyke. read more

Dick Van Dyke Appliance World - 3 months - no help from Dick Van Dyke - Appliances & Repair Near Me - Champaign, Illinois

We bought a unitized washer and dryer in December 2022 for $1950.00. At startup, it made horrible metal on metal sound. We discovered the shipping rod holding the drum in place had not been removed. Research revealed this can damage the drum and nullify the warranty. We called the store to speak to the manager, to request the unit be replaced. The manager refused to talk with us. The clerk started a case file and was supposed to call back but never did. We called back and they wanted to send a repairman. We wanted a new unit, not a repair, but they said the repairman had to come out and confirm. After he removed the shipping bolt, we did not sign the repair order, but they said their part was done. Again, the manager would not talk to us about the warranty or the unit. We had to call the GE home office to get a rep sent out to go over the machine and make sure the warranty would still be honored. We have been long term customers of this store and bought any appliances here for the last 36 years. We will not go back. This new manager has no interest in customer service or customer satisfaction. read more

If I could give -10 stars I would- one star is way too much. Totally fraudulent and useless warranty. Took forever to try to fix my one year high end dishwasher. They said they didn't have parts. I called Whirlpool who told me parts are in stock. Months later they came with parts that didn't work. Then serviceman "rewired" my dishwasher and said it was wired wrong from factory! He left and THE dishwasher flooded my kitchen 2 hours later. Want to see a picture of the $900 dishwasher when I dumped it in the local junk yard? 13 months old! Update my 2 year old Whirlpool refridgerator stopped working. Think I was going to call for warranty service. Noooo! I paid a reputable company and am going to send Dick the bill. I expect no reponse or reimbursement. Oh by the way, Whirlpool Corp. says Dick is not a authorized Whirlpool sales and service retailer! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED: DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. read more

UPDATE: they've returned my call and are replacing the fridge!!! Thank goodness! Let me start by saying, I rarely ever write reviews. However, I feel this needs to be shared. My husband and I purchased a new cafe brand refrigerator on March 1, 2022. On Sunday, June 5, 2022, that refrigerator stopped working. $4,000 and it lasted 3 months. My husband called the store and let them know the issue. They initially told my husband that it would take until Friday to send out a technician to take a look. Before I could call back and let them know this was not ok, they had called back and said they would be sending someone out as "an emergency" call since our refrigerator was just 3 months old. The technicians arrived later that day and stated that the compressor had went bad and that this is not a part they carry on hand. They would have to order the part and it could take anywhere from 7-14 days to get this part in stock. The technicians were very kind and apologetic. Once the realization set in that I had hundreds of dollars in groceries that would be going to waste and a family of 5 without a fridge for up to 2 weeks, I was very unhappy. I called the store and began to ask questions about how they could expect a family to go without a fridge for 2 weeks. Especially considering we purchased a $4,000 fridge 3 months ago to the day, this was not ok. Completely unacceptable. I sternly voiced this concern and let them know I felt like this was bad business. At this point, I didn't want them to fix the fridge. I wanted them to replace it. It's not like we were being asked to go without ice, or a faulty door, or simply some cosmetic damage. It was the main part of the fridge/freezer unit. The service technician that took my call let me know that she would contact the regional manager and would call me back. I waited a full 24 hours with no call back. I called on Wednesday, day 3 of no fridge, only to be told that it had not yet been 72 hours and they had no updates on the new part. I left my number since she was on the phone with another customer. I will update this review as necessary. Overall, we loved our fridge. However, I have lost faith in this company that sold us a faulty product and then expects us to wait up to 2 weeks to fix this issue. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I have had two major repairs to my GE washer purchased in October of 2015. The first issue occurred in September on 2019 less than 4 years after the washer was purchased. The unit needed a gear case and mode shifter. After numerous calls to the Service department, a technician came out to repair the washer three weeks later. The repairs were done incorrectly. I had to start the process over again with Dick Van Dyke. 10 days later, another technician came out to do the exact same repairs. In the process they broke a knob on the washer. The entire process to repair the washer took over a month. On June 11, 2021 the washer was making the exact same noise. On June 17th Dick Van Dyke came to look at the washer charged me a $59 service fee and stated the gear case is bad again and the motor had come apart from another part in the washer. I asked for an itemized estimate. The tech looked at me like I was crazy. He gave me an estimate of $496.08, $324 in parts which should all have been covered under the 10 year warranty. I gave him the okay to order the parts and was told we would receive a call when the parts arrived. I called Dick Van Dyke on five different occasions on June 21 and June 22 to get the exact price for the repairs and to ask when the parts would be in. I was told I would receive a call back. I never received a call back. I called again on June 24th and I was told the parts are in. Dick Van Dyke never called me to advise or set up an appointment for repairs. I scheduled the repair for June 29, 2021. Dick Van Dyke sent a text the morning of June 29th canceling the appointment with no explanation. I had to call and get the reason why the appointment was canceled. Dick Van Dyke explained the wrong part was ordered. I asked, "how could this happen?" I was told it just happens sometimes. No apology from anyone. Dick Van Dyke would re-order the correct part. I called on July 1, 2021 to check on the status and was told the part was in. Again, no call from Dick Van Dyke to tell me the part was in or to reschedule the appointment. Dick Van Dyke said the earliest they could get the repair scheduled was 7/12, which was 10 days away. I was told it was "the best they could do" even though Dick Van Dyke ordered the wrong part and canceled the appointment the first time. At this time we are without our washer for one month. I called Dick Van Dyke on July 9th at 1:00 PM to confirm the appointment for 7/12. Dick Van Dyke stated, "we are all set". Dick Van Dyke called me at 4:30 on July 9th and stated the WRONG PART WAS ORDERED AGAIN and the repair was now going to cost $750. During this ordeal, I never received the itemized estimate I requested on multiple occasions. I asked to speak to a manager and was cold transferred to Service. The service representative said she would look into all the confusion on their end and give us an explanation on the wrong parts being ordered and the difference in estimates. On July 12th Dick Van Dyke called and stated they were still looking into it. We were promised a call back within 1-2 days. On August 23rd, Dick Van Dyke called and left a voice mail stating they could offer me a 20% discount. 10 weeks later!! I have moved on. In all of my interactions with repair companies and customer service representatives, Dick Van Dyke is by far is the worst I have ever dealt with. The events occurring from this incident are inexcusable. The lack of empathy, the repeated rude behavior and the lack of responsiveness are indefensible. The 10 year warranty is an absolute farce. There is a reason their ratings are so low. don't be fooled by a sweet talking sales person. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars! Worst customer service. Big box stores are better than DDV and they're terrible at customer service!! For a company that advertises themselves as giving superior customer service, they're subpar at best. We bought a range and it was to be delivered Saturday morning before Easter. The salesperson told us Saturday morning and the day before we got a call from the delivery service stating Saturday morning. We got a call Saturday morning at 9am stating they'd arrive between 3pm and 7pm! That's completely unacceptable and we would have either scheduled a different day or not purchased the range in the first place. We called the store and they refused to acknowledge their mistakes, refused to apologize, and didn't offer any solutions to the problem. We were forced to go another route due to the holiday. When we called the store back to cancel the order and get a refund they refused. They are trying to keep 20% for restocking when all of this is their fault! Unacceptable. In no way can or should they make this the customers' fault. We will never use them again after this experience. First and our last. read more

They don't even deserve one star, but you can't post unless you check one, so this review would have been zero stars. We are new to the Champaign area and didn't want to buy appliances from a big box store because we were concerned about service. Everyone writing how awful their service is at Dick Van Dyke is SPOT ON! They do not live up to what they advertise. Just bought a dishwasher, microwave and stove. The stove has a steam clean cycle that did absolutely nothing when I used it. The service man that came out implied I was lying, then proceeded to tell me he's never serviced this appliance, he had to read my manual and call GE! After turning on the cycle he saw the oven only heated 3-5 minutes at 180 degrees, how is that going to do anything? His solution was to put the water on the bottom of the oven and turn it on to 350 degrees. This gentleman was condescending, curt and rude. I have never experienced anything like this ever. I reached out to customer service and they told me I could have another service call but if the outcome is the same I would have to pay for the service call. Seriously these appliances are 3 months old where's the warranty that you advertise? Would never go here again, shame on Dick Van Dyke awful customer service, seems like once they have your money their done. read more
