If you are looking for a place to play games, this is the place for you! There were a ton of people and the vibe was fun. If you are looking for a place to purchase games, they do have a small selection, but that's not their primary purpose. There are a lot of large tables, and our group of 6 fit perfectly around one of the smaller ones. If you are hungry their burger is amazing! Like, I kind of want to go back just for that. They have some drink options, mostly beer and meade, and white wine (no red, sad face). There is also a snack selection, but it was mostly out when we were there. Worked for the owners here and at their other location for a few months. Never got paid a cent. Then refused to return a Warhammer army I loaned them for their pick up tournaments and games when I was "let go". Came back to pick up 4 row boxes because I didn't want to drive an extra half hour just to avoid them. Stood at the counter staring at the owner for twenty minutes watching her play commander with the others at the tables before someone else finally noticed I was there and apologized. Had no idea what 4 row boxes were, which I think is odd for a tcg store, and ended up having to ask the owner for help anyways. Was ceremoniously given a ESAD look before she went back to her game. None of the employees from 2023 are still there. All of the ones I've talked to today have cited quitting due to the fact that Dice is simply not paying them their paychecks. Go to Kapow. Literally opposite side of 400. Owner there knows I worked for Dice and still greets me by name every time I'm there. Still makes me feel like a human being and welcome in his store even though he knows I used to be with the competition. read more

I hope this place can figure out what they need to do. This review is in hopes that someone sees it. Obviously, things are declining at Dice Goblin. I used to frequent the store from time to time. Play some games, or just get a bite to eat. It was alright. I got into miniature wargames and would play about once every two weeks. But something happened with another store closing, and this location inherited a LOT of stuff. Including two sofas that do not seem to be for the customers. I was up there around Thanksgiving '24, and I was amazed at how gross the store was. First, no one greets you when you enter. You have to guess who works there. The gaming tables seem to be in the way of storing random boxes. The paint selection is scattered, and many of the paints are not on the rack, but in a container under the rack. I only know this because I opened it since there was no one to assist me. There were Legos and other game items all over the floor. Now, the bathroom was disgusting. Seriously. The kitchen may have been open, but after seeing the bathroom, well, no way. I watched four groups/couples walk in the door, look around confused, and walk out, without any employee ever talking to them. No one checked on my table once. It is hard to play there these days. They need to hire a manager who will get the shop in order. Clean the store. Stock the shelves. Remove the garbage, the boxes of random stuff. Greet your guests, warmly. The owner need to pick her head up, stop playing games, and do something. I can't see this store open by Spring break if they keep up like this. It is a great location, it can succeed, but someone needs to play adult. read more

I don't hate this store but I'm highly disappointed in it. I won't tell you who I am because I don't know if the owner or current staff is even smart enough to look on Yelp for their business but if they are then I don't want to get called out. All I can say is that the staff at the time that I worked there never had any "Real" issues with me but come to find out someone had complained and I got let go for no real reason. How can I fix it if you don't tell me what's wrong? Then you have to keep hiring people over and over and you will never get things fixed. These are the types of people who are afraid to tell you if you messed up cause they are afraid they will hurt your feelings or they are afraid that they will cause a problem. So they make "HR" the other manager, do the dirty work for them. Every other hobby shop I have been to is treated about the same. The owner is almost always playing a game and their lackeys are doing all the work. I get that they own the store, but when you don't even micromanage, you don't order things, you hire and let them do all the work, what is even the point? Especially when you're moving locations. I remember her telling me they were moving from Vendetta games and had all this extra stuff from there, all in the back. Why they didn't buy a storage shed, I don't know. The store was doing poorly at the time and barely able to keep above water, they are always scraping by on bills, and food, but god forbid they hold big ass events they can't afford. I Look, overall, the owner, she's not a bad person, she's just misguided and takes her own shop little to not seriously enough. In other stores I have played at, even Galactic Quest, people say Kyle the owner is a dick but each time I've talked to him, or interacted with him, he's a cool guy and takes his business seriously. I may not own my own business but if I've learned anything about mom-and-pop stores is that you have to take your business seriously but with a hint of kindness or else you will get bulldozed by the competition. The 1/5 stars isn't because I don't like the store, I do miss them, it's from the total lack of respect for the hobbies, the food, the store itself, overall I wish the owner did better and from reading other people's reviews, it makes me sad that nothing has changed. read more

I'm sure this place has the potential to be a lot of fun and maybe I just happened to be there on one of their off days, but I felt like a complete outsider entering this business. It was dark and they seemed to have a lot of cool games and accessories, but not a single person greeted me. I THINK the place serves food, but I didn't see a single menu. It would've been nice if someone, ANYONE, could've tried to explain what the business was all about. If you are not a Magic or D&D player, you may want to avoid. Even then, the clientele seem cliquish. Store has been slowly going downhill for about a year but it's really gotten worse over the past 3-6 months. Staff friendliness and engagement is very hit or miss. I completely agree with the last reviewer about feeling like an outsider when you arrive. Food availability and quality has been in decline. The left hand side shop is a OSHA violation of storage and 1/2 built projects. (Seriously, two visits ago, I hurt myself getting to terrain buried in a bin shoved in the back). There is a solid showing of regulars when I visit on weekday nights, but it seems to be the same people and strictly for card games and D&D. The boardgame and wargame side seems to completely fallen off the map. Owner is nice, I have had a few conversations with her but whatever turnaround she is trying to do is falling flat. Would recommend Meeple Madness or Level Up as an alternative if the location works. I will still visit every once in a while to see if there is improvement because I see so much promise here but my last few visits just completely soured my view on the place. read more

About a year ago, I decided to come check this place out as someone who wanted to try Dungeons & Dragons in person but never really had a chance to. I was hoping this would be it and I could make some new friends and play apart of the story. I was wrong. They had two ongoing games going and I was just placed in one of them after figuring out if they even HAD a table willing to have more players. No problems there. The DM however was terrible. I was given no introduction to the group, no idea of what was going on in this story, and basically was treated like a spectator. When I asked if we were doing introductions, they said no and that I was just there. At some point, I couldn't hear what the DM said and I was trying to be involved in the conversation so I had to get on my knees on these short chairs they had to hear and talk. Just as I did, one of the employees came by and told me to "Sit down properly." I would have if the chairs you provided were actually chairs that were high enough to reach the table. Ever since then, I haven't been back. I was disappointed with this experience and hopefully they've improved since then but just judging from previous reviews, I highly doubt it. Only good thing I can say is that the food was pretty good and the selection of stuff you can buy is nice too. Unfortunately, I wasn't looking for food or a place to shop, I was looking to play Dungeons & Dragons, and I did not get that experience. read more
