Stopped in today for brunch and wow so glad I did!! I enjoyed the breakfast tacos and an iced vanilla latte! The tacos were so full of flavor! On Sat. (05/02/26) this was the second time my wife and I visited Nido Cafe. Our waitress (Charlotte, the 1st time was "Kat") was a like a ray of sunshine and gave us Excellent service. I particularly loved the tea served with your own tea pot. (I could come here just for the tea and a pastry!) My only quibble is that they put the quacamole on the breakfast burrito rather than on the side as we requested. My wife tried to eat it anyway and this made her ill have to go to the bathroom to regurgitate several times, but I loved the burrito including the guacamole because I read it's good for one's heart, I'm just sorry my wife's experience wasn't as good the second time as the first, but that's OK. Went in and out of here within 10 minutes, however, one of the best Matcha Lattes I've ever had! The aesthetic is absolutely beautiful filled with gorgeous, modern tiles and live plants. Looks tiny from the outside but is actually a little bigger than it looks once you walk in. They have patio seating as well, which I hope to enjoy next time along with a few tapas from the menu. The Strawberry Basil Brie Sandwich and Avocado Toast are also on my list for brunch one day. I love that they serve their breakfast menu until 3pm daily. If you are a coffee drinker, they pride themselves in using a Mythos grinder combined with a LaMarzocco espresso machine to ensure the highest quality Coffee, Espresso, Latte, Cappuccino, etc. Parking is quite limited, but you might just get lucky like I did and find a spot in the front right by the entrance. Vickery is a really nice little village with restaurants and shops, so not a bad place to walk a little further if you have to. read more

I was visiting a friend in Cumming and found this cafe in Vickery Village for brunch. We went during a pretty busy hour and had to wait about 15-20ish minutes (nothing crazy as compared to Atlanta). The decor was very simple with just few items hanging on the walls, and there was enough seating to fit couples and families. We were seated indoors and had such a sweet server who seemed exhausted from her shift. Before perusing the menu we grabbed some coffee & matcha which were enjoyable. We came hungry so we ordered a few plates to share. To start, it took quite a while for our food to come out for some reason. The family seated next to us and ordered after us got their meal before the two of us. But seeing how our server seemed tired we suspected things were a bit chaotic and running a little behind. I ordered the strawberry basil & brie which I thought had so much potential but seemed very dry at the time. My friend ordered the Nido Burrito which he thought was underwhelming. We shared the goat cheese beignets and albondigas, and both were okay. Overall, we were not satisfied with food or service but I believe it has potential to grow and improve. It's in a nice area and I'm willing to give it a second chance. There's parking in the back and front of the restaurant. I recently visited Nido Cafe to work alongside my manager while in the area. The cafe is located in a quiet plaza that offers plenty of retail/restaurant options and tons of parking. I parked on the wrong side of the building but thanks to great signage, I easily found the doors to Nido. Nido is really a beautiful cafe that offers intimate seating indoors and a few outdoor options if you'd like to enjoy the experience out in the Georgia sun, (or cold). We opted to sit inside at their cozy cubby seating as it was a chilly day and we were planning on hanging out for a bit. I'll say, probably not the best place to cowork due to the lack of outlets and I actually felt bad for hogging seating after seeing that there were only a few other tables inside. We did luck up because the young lady sitting next to us was right next to an outlet and she plugged me in, although it meant my cord was kinda stuck behind her back. My coffee was absolutely delicious! Served in a big cup, hot with tons of great flavor - it was a great way to kick off my morning. For lunch I opted for a sandwich I know all to well, a Cuban. Being from South Florida with Cuban influences all around me, it's a favorite and knowing that, I shouldn't have ordered it at this cafe. Let me say, the presentation was fantastic. It was a huge sandwich on some beautiful Cuban bread, paired with homemade potato chips, 4/5 presentation. (A lil pickle garnish would be cute lol) But when I tried the sandwich, I wasn't a big fan but that doesn't mean you won't be. There was tonsss of pork on the sandwich. One piece of pork that tasted like a thick bacon and then the pulled pork on the bottom. I didn't love the meat and thought it could use more of a kick or savory taste to it. Another reason I love Cuban sandwiches is that I love mustard and I love pickles. There was only one pickle on the sandwich sadly and the mustard was super minimal, seemingly overpowered by a mayo-ish taste. I actually requested extra pickles that didn't end up on my sandwich, but our waitress brought some back for me after I let her know. The chips were beautifully prepared and obviously homemade, I believe that my manager liked them but I'm not a homemade chip kinda girl - sue me lol. I appreciated the effort and final presentation. So all in all, I think that I just have such a specific expectation of what a Cuban sandwich is, I haven't left much room for any kinda twist on it and that's probably my loss! If you love pork, it's a hefty sandwich that may be for you. :) We had a sweet server who was actually on her very first day on the job. Always something good to know because obviously that will show in the service a bit. There seemed to be only two waitresses working and although she attempted to be attentive, there was a lot going on around her/us and a few times she returned to the table without what was requested causing her to circle back around. 5 Stars for a fabulous cafe/wine/dessert spot in Cumming that has alll the natural light, free wifi, and yummy food! I was planning a coworking sesh in Cumming on a work trip and Yelp led us to Nido. I was thrilled with a coffee shop where you could post up and work, but that also had real food options (and some wine) for when the coffee and pastries no longer suffice. The entrance is deceptive as it looks small, but walk towards the back and you'll see a second seating area and a covered porch with plenty of spots. Josephina was our server and kept us fed and happy! She gave us suggestions, checked on us regularly, and didn't mind when we spent a couple of hours munching, drinking, and working. I was blown away when I found out it was her first day- She seemed like a seasoned pro! What really would have me returning is the abundance of natural light, the pleasant decor, and the fact that they seem to be happy to host folks who plan to graze, drink, and work for a while. For food, I ordered the kale caesar salad with grilled chicken added. I really appreciated that the kale wasn't hard and super bitter and that the grilled chicken was well seasoned (y'all know there are some sad kale salads out in this world and this one wasn't one of those). I also loved the dressing and the fact that it wasn't completely drenched, as well as the fresh croutons (these don't look store bought!). For drinks, I got a decaf oat milk cappuccino and a matcha latte. Note that the matcha latte doesn't come pre-sweetened. I really like that because I was able to request some lavender and honey be added, but to go light on the honey. It came just right! If you're not a matcha fan, though, I wouldn't order it because it is VERY matcha forward. I love the earthy taste, so I was very pleasantly surprised. Cappuccino was bitter and milk was barely frothed - big bubbles with a thin layer of milk - looked more like soap bubbles. We tried it twice. Apple empanadas were not served hot. Warm and soggy. Tasted old, not fresh. Avocado toast was plain - not worth the price. French toast was overcooked- bread was dry. Bacon was excessively fatty and undercooked- seemed to be of inferior quality. Service was good at beginning but after we asked for fresh coffee (a failure) then the server disappeared. I had to go and find her so we could pay. She was standing by the barista, chatting with two employees. Cafe was not busy. Ambiance at first glance is pleasant but then we started to notice dirty floors and benches with huge duct tape patches. Menu is small but it sounds good. Unfortunately did not measure up in reality. I saw the mixed reviews, and was a bit apprehensive coming here but my friend wanted to do lunch and raved about it. What a cute charming place to eat! I loved it! Their kitchen hours are 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, 7 days a week but their coffee / bar (wine/beer) service is open later, 5:00 PM Monday - Saturday. They have a nice variety of lattes, too, and you can sub almond milk. Yay! I loved that my latte wasn't steaming hot either so I didn't burn my tongue or have to wait ten minutes to drink it. They also have coffee, cappuccino, tea and expresso as well. They serve breakfast and tapas/lunch. I love that! Who doesn't like breakfast? Their menu can cater to just about any palate, and I love the variety. From hummus to steak burritos to a nice breakfast menu to fondue... I would like to come back and try more things. I got their avocado toast with a poached egg, and it was one of the best avocado toasts I've ever had! Soooo delicious, perfectly seasoned, and super super fresh! My friend had their salmon salad, and says it is worth trying too. I seriously could have eaten another portion. It was really good! Service was with a smile. The Cafe Nido is a mocha latte with Spanish chocolate. Pretty and delicious! Hubs ordered the avocado toast which came with two pieces of toasted multigrain bread, sliced avocado, and pico de gallo. He added an over medium egg on top. We both really liked the pico on it. I ordered the nutella crepes with strawberries and it was AMAZING! First, the crepe itself was huge. It was dark brown, which is a good sign right off the bat. I always complain that there's never enough nutella in my crepes and Nido's was loaded with nutella! We joked that they probably put an entire jar of nutella in there. It was literally oozing of nutella, just how I like my crepes! For a restaurant that's considered tapas, we were pleasantly surprised that the items (we ordered) came with generous portions. They were reasonably priced, too. 3* for food, less for service. Wife and I arrive at 12:20 for Sunday lunch and are seated in the rear dining room. 10 minutes later we have menus, and another 10 minutes we order. The couple sitting at the next table were there when we arrived and have only received their drinks. Wife gets her glass of wine, but no food appears for another 25 minutes. You can see where this is going. I finally flag down server that at least she could bring us the hummus plate that requires no cooking. We do get that, but couple next door still has no food. Having disposed of service issues, now we can address the food. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, and it's a decent approximation of what I might get in Havana. It's not pressed and grilled as much as it should be, but there's more pork inside than a usual Cuban. Wife had the cheese-stuffed beignets which she enjoyed, and we shared the hummus with pita. Wife thought that some balsamic glaze on the side would improve her dish. Or what should have been pita but wasn't. The hummus was of two colors, green and red, but tasted the same. At the end we and the other couple had our meals comped. Wife and bff plan a weekday visit to see if things improve with fewer guests.
