    Outside, down a bit

Nice bar with OK food. Came out to see Purple Alt play- great time!!!! The band bar is under Homestead, outside stairs. Service was really good, no complaints there. Prices are normal for these days, but $9.00 PER BEER. Tropicalia, but NOT necessary to charge these prices. I think I was drinking Miller- they didn't have Coors- so odd! Anyway, the pork fries were pretty good- Loved the cut. The grit cubes were really good. I hear the pimento balls were good. We'll be back for another show!!!

    Pretzel Bites - $8

For starters - not sure if our waiter was just high or had the millenial zero fs attitude. First thing he says. "I'm kinda tired, but I guess I'm taking care of yall tonight". It was 8pm, but anyway-- it was entertaining at least. Ordered pretzel bites as an app -$8. 8 burned pretzel bites came out, $1 a piece apparently. No sauce. Asked the waiter if it came with cheese. He kinda muttered -"oh yeah, it's supposed to have cheese.....huh, I forgot to put it on there" brought me a 2oz plastic ramekin of watery cheese dip. Getting less entertaining now. Ordered the Reuben. Didn't bother to cut it in half as you would think for presentation and consumption ease. It was good though. Better be for $22. Not the greatest experience. Coulda been worse.

We were craving burgers and this place did not do it for us. The burgers were cold and tasted okay. Nothing special. The fries were cold. The Fried Pimento Cheese app was salty. The only thing that tasted good were the wings. Service was good. Sports bar.

    Gouda and jalapeno grit bites
    Jamie G.

Had a quick stop in for an appetizer and a couple of drinks before dinner at Homestead upstairs. We had an amazing evening. Food: we got jalapeno Gouda grit bites with a honey mustard dipping sauce that was sooooooo good. My husband had an old fashioned and I had a glass of wine and it was all delicious. Service: our server was AMAZING. I THINK he said his name was Ofad but I didn't ask him to repeat it. Anyway- he was so attentive gave great recommendations and told us to come back other nights when they have fun activities. He said they do trivia, line dancing and bingo. We will definitely be back. Ambiance: it was lovely, good music, comfy seating and a stage setting up for a band at 9:00 pm. Parking: good parking in the parking garage

Not impressed at all. $14 for a cocktail in a plastic cup that didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it (all juice). This isn't Atlanta. I can go to Avalon or Alpharetta and pay those prices and get a much better drink for the same price with a nice view. We weren't even interested in trying anything else after that. The seats were uncomfortable and it was more of a bar feel than a restaurant.

She said she is cutting me off - no food no nothing. And I asked why and she said because you ordered your food x 5 and ordered your drink x 5. 100% lie. I had just showed up and my new friend ordered my food and I wasn't sure what he ordered. So I kept asking what did he order. And then I ordered a vodka on the rocks and switched it immediately to a double vodka on the rocks. I've gotten double vodka on the rocks there for a long time. But tonight this new waiter just cut me off on drink AND food. And on the food I never even ordered yet. I got upset and then the manager or whoever ran out and said don't talk to my "wife" like that. And I tried to explain I haven't even ordered anything yet. So I just left. Bizzare experience. I wasn't drunk. I know when I have had too much but these people freaked out. Bizarre as hell. Never go back.

It is housed in a sprawling & cavernous California Ranch Style building that has an assortment of tables & booths & a centered & open barroom. The bar tenders hustle. I found my margarita weak as were the fancier style mixed drinks. But straight on the rocks drinks & martinis have a good pour. The ridge provides Forsyth County residents an '80's vibe - with weekend entertainment & dancing - only thing missing are the ferns hanging from the rafters. The acoustics are very good for cabaret style singers. Eating in the back area with its spacious booths adjacent to large picture windows & overlooking a wooded lot is very nice indeed. The Ridge has fairly new owners - all for the better. Menu is basically the same as the original with a few more seafood selections. The fried jumbo shrimp are very good. Steaks are a little too thin for my liking but look good coming off the flames. Their signature filet mignon medallions is still an excellent choice & good value. Best are the double rack of BBQ Danish Pork Ribs. Danish cut ribs are more petite & leaner than baby backs. On this night they were excellent. Weekends are jamming at the Ridge so a reservation is definitely needed. Be sure to note your table style choice & avoid the dance floor area if you want to have a more intimate dining experience - otherwise you will be part of the entertainment. I gave the ridge a very generous 4 stars. But they actually should rate 3 3/4 stars. I was glad to see that the expansive outside deck area with tables under umbrellas will be opening up soon.

Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

It's a 1920s school turned into a theater, with a majority of the original school intact. I was able to get some last minute tickets for the show, The Producers, literally 2 hours before the play. Cost was not bad at all, $25/person. They offer a VIP experience too, for another $25/person, that comes with heavy hors d'ouevres and non-alcoholic drinks (not offered on Sundays). Parking was not bad. We got there early and ordered drinks from the bar (fairly full bar of offerings). Costs on alcohol were not bad either. It was fun touring the school house and seeing all the old pictures of class photos taken there, and all the frames photos of previous plays put on. Even the school rooms had the window above the doorway. There is also a restaurant in back with some great mural art/paintings on the wall. The theater was fairly large and presented well, with cushy seats and convenient drink holders. My expectations were low and I was very much surprised by the skill level of the cast and how well the show was run. I've never been to Broadway but I've been to the Fox, and this show would equal some of the stuff I've seen there or at other theaters. Very talented cast! The show was also incredible. Overall, this was a wonderful visit. If you live in the area, you'd be crazy not to check out a show here!
