I come here often to enjoy the music, but this is the second time I've been told I can't sit at a certain table because it's "reserved," only to later watch other people take the same seat with no issue. Tonight, at my friend's birthday, we tried to sit at a high-top right beside the party. Macala immediately told us no--without a real explanation--and moved us to a low table. Fifteen minutes later, the rest of the birthday group walked in and were allowed to sit in that exact high-top. No problem. On top of that, no one came to take our drink order. We waited, went to the bar ourselves, and then nearly 20 minutes later she came over insisting she had been to us twice (once to move us and once to drop menus). I truly try not to jump straight to assuming bias, but when this type of situation happens more than once and only seems to apply to certain people, it's hard not to feel singled out. I love the live music here, but the seating inconsistency and lack of service made us feel like we didn't belong, and that's incredibly disappointing. read more

Had the best lunch outside here yesterday with my family! The weather was just perfect for an outdoor lunch, and we must've come at just the right time because I've never seen City Center that calm before. It was so peaceful and quiet, and we snagged a table in the sun so we stayed warm with the heavy breeze. They also have large umbrellas available for use. We started with the buffalo chicken dip and I don't have a photo because we were starving and could not stop after the first bite! It was so delicious! For our main dishes, my husband got a burger and I got the chicken salad sliders which are actually under the apps list but were the perfect portion for me, especially after all the dip and pita! Nice bar with OK food. Came out to see Purple Alt play- great time!!!! The band bar is under Homestead, outside stairs. Service was really good, no complaints there. Prices are normal for these days, but $9.00 PER BEER. Tropicalia, but NOT necessary to charge these prices. I think I was drinking Miller- they didn't have Coors- so odd! Anyway, the pork fries were pretty good- Loved the cut. The grit cubes were really good. I hear the pimento balls were good. We'll be back for another show!!! read more

For starters - not sure if our waiter was just high or had the millenial zero fs attitude. First thing he says. "I'm kinda tired, but I guess I'm taking care of yall tonight". It was 8pm, but anyway-- it was entertaining at least. Ordered pretzel bites as an app -$8. 8 burned pretzel bites came out, $1 a piece apparently. No sauce. Asked the waiter if it came with cheese. He kinda muttered -"oh yeah, it's supposed to have cheese.....huh, I forgot to put it on there" brought me a 2oz plastic ramekin of watery cheese dip. Getting less entertaining now. Had a quick stop in for an appetizer and a couple of drinks before dinner at Homestead upstairs. We had an amazing evening. Food: we got jalapeno Gouda grit bites with a honey mustard dipping sauce that was sooooooo good. My husband had an old fashioned and I had a glass of wine and it was all delicious. Service: our server was AMAZING. I THINK he said his name was Ofad but I didn't ask him to repeat it. Homestead is open!! We went on the opening night! Had the farmhand burger with blackberry bacon jam! Really good! And came with a side we got the Caesar salad! Very good! Came for the live music (These Crowded Streets) and left bragging about the food and service! Let's talk about the fries. Absolutely the BEST fries that I've ever devoured! EVER!! They were literally bursting with flavor. You'd be doing your tastebuds a disservice by putting ketchup anywhere near the fries. As a matter of fact, they should consider renaming them "bougie fries", because they are in a class all their own. Skip the condiments and allow your tastebuds to live their best life! :) The burgers! This was another pleasant surprise. The meat was well seasoned (was that oregano that I detected?) and cooked to perfection. Another item that I chose not to use condiments on, because it just didn't need it. I know that coleslaw typically isn't a fan favorite, but I also enjoyed the coleslaw. Fresh and creamy (mayo based), with a hint of "life". I'm guessing some sort of pepper (chipotle?). The service was awesome. The server kept us updated on how things were going with our order. Checked-in several times to make sure we were enjoying our experience. I hate that I didn't get their name so that I could acknowledge them properly. Last, but not least...the band was phenomenal! High energy entertainment. The crowd matched energy creating the perfect atmosphere to "dance like no one is watching". Definitely will be returning soon; even if only for the fries. read more

I came in expecting bar food. What I got was a sorry excuse for bar food. The wings came out un-sauced and the meal did not taste fresh at all. The service was really sub-par as well. Went in on a Sunday afternoon-- wasn't busy and service was extremely slow. Had to ask multiple times for drink refills, only to find our waitress sitting at another table across the restaurant chatting with other employees. This happened repeatedly. Food was extremely underwhelming. Ordered the Brussel sprouts (good flavor but arrived cold and soggy, not crispy) and the French fry appetizer which no one at our table liked-- strange flavor bbq sauce and sub par bbq pork. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she agreed that the bbq sauce was not good, despite the fact that this is the appetizer she recommended we get! Waitstaff definitely needs more training, food needs big improvements. read more

The location and venue are perfect for this place. I went with my wife last week and the Dueling Piano guys were playing - the music was great! Sat at the bar and I ordered a spicy margarita and my wife had a beer. Margarita was just OK. It was dispensed from a machine... For food, we ordered wings (requested all-flats, and fried crispy), French fries, and a club wrap with a side of corn salad. Service was great, food was unfortunately not great. The wings came out slimy and cold, we had the server just cancel and remove from our order. Fries (as others note) were good, but I find it hard to measure based on just this. Corn salad was good, but the wrap was mediocre at best. Tortilla was stale, with some leafy greens and deli meat. Nothing super inspiring. I wasn't anticipating fine dining, but given location and competition in the area, this place could do better. Revise the menu, and control quality of food leaving the kitchen. read more

Sat at the bar on a Tuesday night following a bad experience at Homestead. Ordered the egg rolls and they were very good. The Old Timer burger was fine. The pork sandwich was absolutely terrible- so dry it was honestly hard to consume, and flavorless. Our food arrived and we didn't have utensils to eat our salads with, but the bar tender ran around fulfilling orders that poker players behind us were barking over our heads at her. Poker patrons would walk up and demand their bill closed or a fresh beer and they got what they needed pronto while we had to patiently wait for every little thing...but we were seated at the bar! But they were sold out of everything- make sure you ask what they are sold out of before you sit down and commit your time. First time here. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich wrapped in lettuce with a side of fries. The fries are bomb! The " sandwich" had no sauce, just a plain chicken patty with a slice of tomato and some onion. Despite the lack of sauce, it tasted ok. My husband ordered the plow fries appetizer. The meat was cold, so he sent it back to get it heated up. The cheese Pimento balls were also tasty. One side note... our server, though pleasant, was clearly not well... coughing, sneezing, and frankly, we did not appreciate being waited on by someone who might be spreading germs on our food and on us. Management should advise their staff to stay home if sick and if they show up, they should be sent home. Just sayin'. Next time, if there is one, we are coming for the live music. Second time trying this place and as much as I want to like this place it leaves SO much to be desired. The first time I came my beer even though "fresh" out of the tap was barely even cold within the three steps it took for it to be brought to me. This second time because my beer was unavailable (meaning server hadn't asked recently what was out) I got sweet tea which was just diluted very light tan sugar water, ordered the pasta salad and while the description in the menu made it seem supremely appealing upon arrival it was so basic. The fried chicken fell right out of the breading, the description stated wild mushrooms (so I was expecting a mix of bellas, porcinis, and a wild variety of mushrooms) it was just bellas, whole cherry tomatoes and red onions, none of it was even mixed together. The seasonings and dressing were all on the side so the salad was very boring looking. While I wish this place all the best it definitely isn't a foodie spot. I recently had a problem with my garage door, the torsion spring broke and the door would not open. I called Overhead Doors where I purchased my garage door and opener. They had a technician out to my house the next morning . Arturo was very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He replaced my spring and had everything working again within an hour. I have used Overhead Doors for 25 years and I have never had a complaint about their service or their products. Keep it up Overhead Doors!! read more
