When I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager, I explained I couldn't believe how small the slice was, all he said was they don't make them in house, they come that way. From the moment we entered, I could tell I'd made the right decision for lunch. We were promptly greeted and seated. The music playing from the speakers was honest jazz pop fusion and lent to a great atmosphere. They start with bread and oil, which is delicious. The bread was soft and warm, with just enough garlic and salt. We ordered Meatball ricotta and shared. It was so pretty that I almost didn't want to eat it. But it was good once I did. Tucked away in a Kroger strip mall is this Italian gem. The ambience is warm inside, and the service was fantastic. They give you fresh, warm, complementary garlic rolls and they are awesome! I had the house salad, my wife had the Caesar both were very good. This is our first visit, my wife had the chicken Parmesan, and I had the baked ziti. The baked ziti was delicious and the portion was huge! The chicken Parm was average tasting, and we really didn't love the sauce. I have seen their billboard when driving through downtown Cumming and since we will soon be living in Cumming, of course we needed to try GrapeVines out!! Reading reviews we weren't too sure about going to dinner with new friends, but decided to go. It is located in a nice strip mall with ample parking. It's not a very large restaurant but we like small and intimate. It also has a bar side with high table seating. It is very nice inside with booths and tables/chairs. We were seated immediately because this particular Friday night was not busy. Apparently it was an odd evening of not being busy but we were okay with that. There was live music which was a one-man band. However he was very good and nice background music. We were told by our server Zack they have it on Friday and Saturday evenings. We were immediately greeted by wonderful server Zack. He was so friendly, engaging, attentive and some southern hospitality. We took a long time to decide on our food because we were with new friends, but he was so great checking back with us. He told us "I just don't want you to think I'm neglecting you". We assured him it was okay as we were here with our new friends and enjoying conversation. Of course before I commit to a glass of wine, I want a taste which he accommodated my husband and I. We finally decided, per Zack's recommendation, on the salmon along with a small salad and the Tuscana cup of soup, of course sharing everything. It was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly not tough and overcooked. It was bedded on Risotto which was creamy and yummy. I loved the Kalamata olives that garnished the salmon. Delicious and healthy menu choice for sure. And the garlic butter rolls they serve were outstanding, warm and delicious sprinkled with some seasoning also comes with a bowl of dipping oil with seasoning. Our soup was pipping hot with a tomato cream, chicken and a few small cut vegetables. Not too many of either but that is okay otherwise we'd be too full for our main dish. A cup was the perfect portion. Our salad with some veggies was also the perfect portion. But what made our evening complete was Zack as we thoroughly enjoyed his attention and engaging conversation. With us not living far away soon, Grapevines most likely will be our Italian "go-to". Oh and on Mondays, they have $5 Martini nights. Didn't ask if they have happy hour, but I will the next time in. We enjoyed a piece of scrumptious cheesecake drizzled with chocolate sauce of some sort which again was very tasty. Not too big of a slice, but again perfect portion. Our friends said they enjoyed their dinner as well. Our friend is gluten intolerant and they serve gluten free noodles which he said was very good. We had a wonderful (52nd) anniversary celebration with friends and family at GrapeVine's, and they couldn't be more accommodating. There were nine of us and separate checks were not a problem. I had the Cioppino and my wife had the Mussels appetizer and the pesto chicken pasta. Everything was delicious. The Cioppino had salmon, shrimp, mussels and more in a thicker marinara type sauce, with a bowl of linguine and marinara sauce. The mussels were perfectly cooked in a garlicky broth with tomatoes, excellent for dipping their yummy rolls. The pesto chicken was flavorful and she took most of it home. We had a Montepulciano d'abruzzo which went very well with all our dishes. We were most pleased and will definitely be back next t time we are in Cumming. read more

The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Every time a customer left, the hostess immediately wiped down the table. There was live music and the decor was rustic and cozy. The food was good but not great. There was plenty to eat as my chicken dish came with a salad and a side and the table got fresh rolls which were delicious, with oil and balsamic herbed dipping sauce. Risotto was very good but the chicken piccata was just okay. Husband had pasta with sausage which he did like but neither of us were crazy about the calamari. Honestly not 100% sure how I did not know this was here! I used to live right around the corner and never noticed it was now a different restaurant! My friend and I wanted to try something new for Galentines dinner so we decided to try it out and I am so glad we did! I will be back! WE were promptly greeted when we walked in and they cleaned a table off for us and got us sat within about 5 minutes. The lovely woman who greeted and sat us was so kind, and our server was no different. Full of smiles and answered all of our questions! So first off apparently they do Martini Monday and I am not sure if that is every Monday or just the first Monday of the month. Either way, heck of a deal! $5 martinis! Of course, since they were $5 we had to try some! I started with a classic Lemon Drop and my friend got the Raspberry Chocolate. Both were good! The Raspberry Chocolate I would say is something I would get AFTER dinner myself, but my friend enjoyed it before our meal. The lemon drop was great! As an appetizer we decided to try the mussels and were not disappointed. They were perfectly cooked with a good yet subtle flavor. We used our bread to soak up the sauce and it was next level delightful. For our entrees I got the lobster ravioli and my friend got the veal scallopini I think it was with risotto. I really liked my ravioli, and it was different since other places I have ordered lobster ravioli it was in more of a wine based or cream sauce. This sauce was a very creamy red sauce like a rosatella. So good! My friend loved her meal and I got to try it as well - perfectly cooked, and the sauce had a great flavor! The risotto was good too, but the veal really stole the show there! We did not get a dessert, but we did try the peach martini as well and it was good - VERY sweet in my opinion, but good. The service was wonderful (even the person who brought our food out was smiling and kind), everyone was smiling, there was live music - overall just a great evening! We ordered the Chef Special with Toscana soup and the Lobster Ravioli. The Chef Special was Pork Chop with Fettuccine in a Mushroom Sauce. The pork chop was a little salty but cooked well. The mushroom sauce was a little bland. I wanted to add some more cheese but our server never came back around until it was time for the check. The lobster ravioli was okay. The sauce was really good. Took ten minutes for us to be greeted by the server, who was pleasant. We ordered our food immediately and it took almost 40 minutes to get our food. Lasagna and ziti.... Shouldn't have been too complicated. The lasagna sauce was bright red, like tomato sauce out of the can. It was the weirdest lasagna I ever tasted. The ziti was piping hot and stayed steaming hot for over ten minutes. Took forever to eat and It was mediocre at best. Sorry, but since I'm somewhat fussy about Italian food, having lived in the northeast where Italian restaurants are on every corner and most are authentic and amazing, this was like a Stouffers meal. If you have a discriminating palate, this is not the place to go for Italian food. read more

Figured they were either closed or having a private party - drove by around 6:00 PM and sure enough they were open. I came in for dinner service last evening, and it was a small little quaint spot clean and neat. I was immediately seated. I asked the waitress what she recommended. My eyes had already viewed the menu, and I had an ideal of what sounded good. She recommended the pesto chicken and it was a wonderful decision! It was in a very creamy, sauce that was very flavorful! They were having five dollar martinis and of course I had to try one. It was a little strong for my liking, however, if I had come with a designated driver, I probably would've had another. A very pleasant dining experience. The server was very attentive and helpful. The food was quite good. I had the Tuscan soup and baked ziti (large portion, very cheesy, and very good). My wife had the fettuccine chicken Alfredo (Alfredo was heavy on the cream and light on the garlic, chicken was tender and tasty). Our son had the lobster ravioli (very nice vodka and garlic sauce, quite good). The decor was quaint and comfortable. Seating was adequate and comfortable. This restaurant is amazing and I'm so glad we found it to enjoy an 80th birthday party for a party of 14 people. This place has some amazing staff that made sure our party was very well served. I enjoyed the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious and abundant for the price. Out of 14 people there was a hiccup with one order but Brittney and Zac made sure to correct it and make it even better. Their attitude and attention to customer service was superior to other places we have dined. WE WILL go back to this location to dine more because of the amazing service we received tonight. Thus far we have tried the eggplant parmigiana, chicken Alfredo, chicken Marsala, penne with sausage and none have disappointed. So glad we decided to explore.
