On top of that, I spent an additional entire weekend preparing everything for their arrival so the work could be completed as scheduled. Day of work was confirmed. At 8:00 a.m. on the morning they were supposed to arrive, they canceled the appointment. Not days in advance. Not even the night before. They waited until the morning of the scheduled appointment to inform me they wouldn't be coming. They followed up with 3 variable stories from being overbooked to an ER visit for reasons why they cancelled. I lost day of work, an entire weekend of preparation wasted, and absolutely nothing accomplished. Canceling an appointment at 8:00 a.m. might be convenient for them, but it's incredibly disrespectful to customers who have rearranged their lives and invested considerable time preparing. It's a complete lack of professionalism and total waste of my time. Take your business elsewhere. Find a company that values your time, honors its commitments, and understands that professionalism means more than simply putting a date on a calendar.

We had a French drain installed and never another issue with water. Now mom's house is getting ready to be sold but she's had years of water issues. We couldn't ignore it any longer so I called them again and in 2 days the main part of the job is done. They will be installing a sump pump for mom and again they hung plastic to keep the dust down they move items out of the way and day one the basement was trenched. Tomorrow the outside work begins and the drains will be laid out. After inspection they will be back to put the cement down clean up and done. They were meticulous and timely in their work. Recently we had an issue with our sump pump, we could smell sewer water and had a lot of drain flies coming. Lou, came right away, and helped us get to the cause. It was the main sewer line from the city had backed up to our house. A small part of our drain had to get fixed as a result and they did it right away. Outside of this one issue, which wasn't due to their work, our basement which would get flooded all the time has been completely dry. I recommend A-1 waterproofing all the time.

Can I be a waterproof specialist? I doubt it but I am much more educated on the matter. Prices are very good and transparent at all levels. Proposals are easy to understand and no reading small print, because there are none. The owner Steve will match competitor pricing if lower than what Blue Umbrella offers. A crew of four came. Jose, foreman, did a great job! He was responsible and the crew were timely. Jose even helped me reinstall the dehumidifier to the new sump pump area. They took away all the garbage too! The crew had two large trucks and seemed to have everything down to a science. One truck replaces the other once all the dirt from the basement gets loaded. My job was finished in two days because I needed additional work but this was explained to me and I had agreed to the extra service and charge. Knowing in advance is a good thing! Steve, the owner, came out to meet the me on day one. It was nice of him to come out and meet his client. After having a conversation earlier in the week, I can say Steve is very feisty and passionate about his company.
