I had a very disappointing experience with California Transmission. I came in looking to swap Chevy Astro transmission and the high selling point with California transmission would be completed in a one day turnaround. However, unfortunately, I found myself having to call the shop multiple times for an update, and we're constantly hesitant to update me. In the end up having to wait three days to get my vehicle To make matters worse, they failed to properly reconnect my oil dipstick to the engine block, which is a basic but critical oversight. I know that mistakes are common, however, granted to the fact that Israel emphasize how professional they are 25 years of experience, I am surprised something like that went unnoticed so I went ahead and give them a call today and after the vulgar conversation, he gave me I decided that I ultimately had a write a review. Overall, the lack of professionalism and attention to detail makes it hard to recommend this shop. I will provide photos below to show that I am a true customer and not a fake reviewer.

They…read moresaid they did a full inspection of the transmission going in before installing it and when we took it back there was a fully MISSING seal and they put it in anyways. We take it back to them to fix and after a "2 day" job took over a week (for another $510) the car all of a sudden won't start at all. The starter is clunking and smoking which was never a problem. Don't go here unless you want to leave with more problems than you came with, I'm out over $1000 (not including the parts I helped source) and no one bothers to return texts even though we were given the owners personal number. So I decided to give this place a try considering this place was close to my house and they had really good reviews. This place made me lose trust in mechanics and made me believe that the stereotype of mechanics is true, that they will screw you over to make more money. I brought my car in and the manager drove my car for about 5 minutes. He came back and said I needed the transmission rebuilt (at this point I knew he was trying to screw me over already, like how can you tell within 5 minutes). I told him, "nah I'm good.. I'll go elsewhere", and then he proceeds to try and offer me some type of loan payment plan and at this point I just nodded and let him do his whole speech because I really didn't want to argue and wanted to leave. Next, he says, "we can also buy your car" . In my head I'm like "What!!!?" Anyways, turns out my transmission oil just ran out. I had a huge transmission leak that needed to be sealed up which definitely didn't cost a whole new transmission or the need to sell my car. This place could've took their time and not jumped to conclusions for personal gains. Never coming to this place again and told all my close friends and family not to come here. Crooks I tell you.

There's no reason to pay more than $6,000 for an engine replacement or buy a new vehicle and spend upwards of $50k when you can potentially revive the car you love.
