I had a very disappointing experience with California Transmission. I came in looking to swap Chevy Astro transmission and the high selling point with California transmission would be completed in a one day turnaround. However, unfortunately, I found myself having to call the shop multiple times for an update, and we're constantly hesitant to update me. In the end up having to wait three days to get my vehicle To make matters worse, they failed to properly reconnect my oil dipstick to the engine block, which is a basic but critical oversight. I know that mistakes are common, however, granted to the fact that Israel emphasize how professional they are 25 years of experience, I am surprised something like that went unnoticed so I went ahead and give them a call today and after the vulgar conversation, he gave me I decided that I ultimately had a write a review. Overall, the lack of professionalism and attention to detail makes it hard to recommend this shop. I will provide photos below to show that I am a true customer and not a fake reviewer.

I provided detailed information, but instead of a professional response or even a simple decline, the representative responded with a single period ('.'). When I called them out on this, they made a ridiculous excuse that it was a typo for "85" because of a "crazy phone." It is clear they only value high-profit jobs and treat other inquiries with blatant disrespect. If you are looking for a business that communicates professionally and takes customer concerns seriously, this is NOT the place. A simple "we cannot provide that service" would have been enough, but responding with a dot is insulting.

TERRIBLE SERVICE -- THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR OWN WORK OR WARRANTY…read more I brought my vehicle here for brake work, and after the service, my brake rotors were scratched/damaged. I went back and asked them to inspect the problem and honor their warranty, but instead of taking responsibility for the work they performed, they refused to honor the warranty. Their excuse was that I provided the brake pads. If providing my own parts was going to affect the warranty, that should have been clearly explained before the work was performed, not after there was a problem. What makes this even worse is that they wanted to charge me additional money to fix the problem. So they get paid to perform the work, the job does not turn out properly, and when you come back with a legitimate issue, instead of standing behind their work, they want to charge you again. That's not what I consider good customer service or professional workmanship. I'm not asking for anything for free. I'm simply asking them to take responsibility for the work I already paid for. VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. I WOULD NOT TAKE MY VEHICLE BACK HERE, AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANYONE. If you decide to use this shop, make sure you get everything in writing, especially what their warranty actually covers if you provide your own parts.

Delfino gave me a quote and started work immediately. I had already researched parts and labor and found his price very agreeable. I usually do most mechanical work for my own vehicles. Brakes, steering and suspension, differential rebuild, axles replacement. Timing jobs and mild engine rebuild, but a transmission is something I will leave to the professionals; and delfino is A+. The job was done quickly and he met me after hours to release my truck to me. Forward 3-4 years and I'm back again for a different vehicle. I'm back knowing with confidence that delfino is fair, honest and a damn good transmission mechanic!
