I was a bit hesitant about writing this review, but after one last phone call with Israel (manger),…read moreit feel obligated to let people know. I had a very disappointing experience with California Transmission. I came in looking to swap Chevy Astro transmission and the high selling point with California transmission would be completed in a one day turnaround. However, unfortunately, I found myself having to call the shop multiple times for an update, and we're constantly hesitant to update me. In the end up having to wait three days to get my vehicle To make matters worse, they failed to properly reconnect my oil dipstick to the engine block, which is a basic but critical oversight. I know that mistakes are common, however, granted to the fact that Israel emphasize how professional they are 25 years of experience, I am surprised something like that went unnoticed so I went ahead and give them a call today and after the vulgar conversation, he gave me I decided that I ultimately had a write a review. Overall, the lack of professionalism and attention to detail makes it hard to recommend this shop. I will provide photos below to show that I am a true customer and not a fake reviewer.

However, after the repair, my reverse lights stopped working. When I asked them to check it out--whether it was an electrical problem or a transmission switch issue--they completely blew me off and walked away. No help, no follow-up. I would not recommend this place if you need reliable service or respect for your concerns.

I was driving on the freeway at 70mph and suddenly my gear selection started blinking and it…read moredownshifted to 3rd gear by itself. Definitely a scary experience. Apparently when the frame lead sensor goes out it causes the truck to go into safe mode which is 3rd gear at any speed." I found Julio Transmission through Yelp, I called him to inquire about replacing the lead frame sensor off a 2017 Ford F150 with 170,000 miles on the 6R80 transmission. I had codes P0706 & P0707 on the Ecu. I told him I had all the parts (lead frame, gasket, filter, oil and a new oil pan with a bolt to make it easier to service going forward) and I would like to know how much he would charge me for the Labor. He told me to text him the codes and he responded and told me the price of $250, I was in shock because the dealer had quoted me $800 depending if there wasn't anything else to change. I did not hesitate to scheduled my truck with him. He explained that he has over 25 years of experience and that he had service these transmissions before. He also shared that he was very familiar with the replacement protocols for the Lead frame sensor. He took about two hours to get it done and so far I drove the truck and it feels great. He showed me the old sensor, gasket, old oil pan and the transmission fluid which had never been changed and it was black. I will update the review if needed but as of now I'm glad I found him.

I came in for a transmission service after noticing rough shifting, and I'm glad I did. The team…read morewas professional, knowledgeable, and upfront about what the service would involve. The quality of work exceeded expectations. The vehicle runs noticeably better, and everything was completed in a timely manner. Communication was consistent throughout the process, which I really appreciated. In terms of value, the pricing was reasonable and well worth it for the peace of mind and results I received. No pressure, no gimmicks--just honest work. This is the kind of business that earns repeat customers.

I delayed bringing my car to the shop until a work stall with a lift was available to begin working…read moreimmediately. Alex told me that one would be available but when I arrived that wasn't the case. Therefore, he lied to me from the beginning. The job was completed the next day as he said it would but my car was left very dirty and greasy when I returned to retrieve it. When I asked for a rag to wipe the greasy from my shift knob, he proceed to wipe down the steering wheel and knob then used the same dirty rag on my door panel, scratching the paint. Alex informed me that my check engine light was on and tried to suggest that it may have already been that way before I brought my car to the shop. I was appalled at this suggestion for my car only needed a new clutch and nothing else. I'm sure he turned on the key and saw no such warning lights but was trying to cover up that it was damaged during their repair process. When I returned the next day to have them repair what they did, I was not greeted with respect and I will not return to this shop again, even if the check engine light returns. I was initially quoted a labor cost only to be baited and switched after he learning that I had a very nice vehicle. Albeit, the clutch works as expected but I cannot get over how smug and disrespectful Alex treated me during this entire time. One could say you get what you pay for but the disrespect is unacceptable, not to mention I had to wash my floor mat because it was so filthy. I made sure not to put them in my car when I brought it back. I had to spread paper bags all over the floor then I noticed they had their own paper shoe protection that was laying on the floor when I returned the second time. I think they do decent transmission work but if you care about how you are treated and the care of your car, I would not recommend them but if you want to go the economic route and do your own cleaning and hope to don't cause more harm to your vehicle then these are your options. The engine light wasn't on when I picked up my vehicle the second time, but they could have just erased it and may return in a few days. Alex never called me once to tell me my car was ready for pick up. I had to call him both times, and the first time I came to pick up my car, he told me he had texted about coming the next day after I already told him l'm on my way. We had never texted before and I later learned he never texted me at all, that's typical of my experience in a nutshell.
