Went here yesterday for a birthday party. There was already a reservation set up for us so we were sat down fairly quickly. When we sat down, our server came back to our table and asked what we wanted for drinks and she got them for us. We also were pretty quick to order as everyone in the group ordered Butter Chicken, and I ordered Cheesy Pasta. Our orders kind of took a while...even the server had to apologize for it being slightly delayed. Our group didn't bother with it too much as we were too busy chatting amongst ourselves. Everyone got their food without any mistakes or problems, and when mine came everyone said how my dish looked delicious. The Creamy Pasta is really delicious to look at and eat! Kind of had a similar taste to that of KD Mac and Cheese, but that was great to me :) It also came with garlic bread and it was great to me. The taste, and presentation was as expected. Our server was pretty good as well. I think some people has eaten here before and had recognized her as being a new server. Either way, she did a good job. She was polite, and always ensured that our drinks were topped off. I would recommend. However, some comments from our table was that to be careful when ordering steak dishes.

Tried their curry lunch special for $11. Picked the goat and the veggie curry. Friendly staff and sat on their sunny patio. Great atmosphere inside as well!

I'm glad my friends suggested my namesake restaurant . . . The menu has higher priced standard fare entrees and what looks like good value East Indian, which we settled on. We started with The Diana appetizer ($5 pp): a pakora, veggie samosa, and avocado spring roll. The latter was surprisingly good even with its smooth texture. All fresh tasting and delicious. I enjoyed the "Diana" drink ($7) which reminded of a Bahama Mama. Wine by the glass with dinner ($10) and they are generous on their pour. I chose the Thali ($13) as it has a bit of everything on a tin rectangular buffet plate: naan, daal, raita, and choice of two curries - butter and coconut chicken. The bases were well flavoured and the chicken tender. It doesn't look like a lot, but it was filling with the appetizer. My friends enjoyed the chicken tikka ($18). Only minus is the dark, sparse environment with low lighting - good for winter, but not summer. If it's warm enough I'd suggest the sidewalk patio tables. I'd return if I lived in Guelph . . .

The food is mediocre but it's the way they treat their staff. I felt very uncomfortable listening to the shaming tone that the owners used.

The staff is super friendly and I appreciate the loyalty cards for coffee and bread. The bakery itself is small but so quaint being in an old historical house. Great location and customer service…read more Scones: Decent. A little sweet (which I like), served with whipped cream and strawberry jam. Fruit: The fruit was the best part of all our meals here. It was so fresh and sweet, which I thought would be difficult to find outside of California! I also enjoyed it with cottage cheese, which is not so common at breakfast spots in California unfortunately. Tea: The tea is enjoyable but pretty average when compared to bougier tea spots like The Bruce in Stratford. It's not clear how long I should let it steep for for optimal flavor. I preferred the Winter Dream green tea, which was warm and cozy, slightly sweet. I also preferred the McCrae over the Boathouse blend. The Boathouse blend was a little basic for me, and the McCrae had a slight sweetness that I enjoyed. High Tea: Average - a good price and pleasant experience, especially if the weather is nice enough to eat outside (and catch a bald eagle flying by!). My favorite dessert was the carrot cake cupcake. Ice Cream: Yes, ice cream and tea is definitely a good idea! The banana cream pie tastes like your classic Runts banana flavor (the original banana that got wiped out) and the black cherry has plenty of big cherry pieces. Great servings, and we loved that they served them in reusable bowls instead of disposable ones. Would definitely come again!

If you follow the route, it leads to another bigger parking lot. Parking is free! Reservations are highly recommended. My guest and I made a reservation for two for 1:30pm. It was very busy when we walked in. We got a table right by the door. There were artwork and paintings hung all around the cafe - it was cute. I ordered an afternoon tea set, as well as an extra breakfast burrito for my guest and I to share. There is a tea menu to look at all the various options they have. It was nice to see that they had many options to choose. Our set came with mini sandwiches, scones and dessert and fruits. I would definitely come back to visit - it would be nice to come in the summer and book a table out on their patio.

The appetizers (calamari, mozza sticks, and wings) were great! Very solid choices although personally the wings (medium) were a little too sweet for us. Service was ok but the waitress did seem a bit stressed. The mains, however, were a bit disappointing. The burgers were just ok, my halloumi in the halloumi salad was burnt (although the salad itself was great), and the children's cheese sandwich was also burnt. The fish & chips were very oily. Usually I really want to like and rate local establishments well as I am a local myself, but burnt food is a no-no and unfortunately with kids I don't really have the time to ask for a remake. Great vibes for a good beer though.
