I'm so sad to report that Marc no longer works at this location, and since then I've had an absolutely horrible experience with this shop. The first is when I needed the appraisal letter for my diamond. I had changed the setting and needed the update appraisal for my insurance company. When I got the revised one, not only did they get the CARAT SIZE of the diamond wrong, but they also changed verbiage to not include all the specs of my diamond. I called and requested a fix, and it came with still more mistakes. It took me 3 times to get them to redo my appraisal letter, and two different visits to the store. No apologies were given. Their attention to detail was extremely sub par. I ordered a second setting for my engagement ring (I wanted a trendy rose gold one for little bit... what is a girl to do? haha) and came to get the diamond moved from one setting to the other. The wait time was 10 days and when I came back they didn't give back my original $1,000+ setting. I had to ask them to go retrieve it. Thank god I checked, and thank god it was in the back/vault because I would have had to come back if they didn't, an hour trip round trip from my house. Again... attention to detail was extremely sub par. We came in to order my husbands wedding band. Our experience was terrible, our sales guy was disinterested, and the entire time he just wanted to sell whichever one was on his finger at any given time regardless of our commentary. I get it, the wedding band is a much lower commission than the diamond for the girl, but we had ALREADY bought the diamond here. I'd expect the positive service to still hold. We decided to take our business elsewhere and did not choose to buy any of our bands here. After thousands and thousands and THOUSANDS of dollars spent here with Marc, I'm sad to say we won't be back. The sales individual makes all the difference. read more

I have an unusual shaped engagement ring and finding just the right band had been a challenge. We were greeted at Diamonds Direct with smiles and offered a beverage while we looked around. A glass of wine for me and a beer for my fiancé. Nice touch. We looked around and wound up finding a diamond band that snuggles up to my engagement ring perfectly. My fiancé has a commitment ring that he was going to use as his wedding band. However, Richard Posey patiently assisted us (I think we were still there a little after closing) in finding a beautiful comfort fit (rounded edges) white gold band that very nicely compliments the commitment ring so he now wears both. It makes a nice fashion statement. Diamonds Direct prices were much better than all the local places I checked. I considered shopping on the Internet because I might pay a little less -- BUT, the service at Diamonds Direct is beyond compare. Before we even found my wedding band, I'd asked about rhodium plating my engagement ring because it was scratched up from years of wear. They did it with a smile, while I waited, and without charge. Just days before my wedding, they rhodium plated my old engagement ring one more time just to make sure I'd be happy with the look of my new set on my wedding day. I've had rings rhodium plated at jewelry stores before and there's always been a charge. When we came in to pick up our rings that we'd already paid for a couple of weeks prior, they happened to be having a 20% off sale. I mentioned it in passing to the manager, Richard Posey. I said something like, "Darn, wouldn't you know it - I missed out on the sale." He said, "Oh no, you're here - we can make that adjustment!" He gave us back $400. He did it with joy and a genuine smile on his face. Awesome. After we were married I decided to have my rings soldered together so the rings wouldn't spin in opposite directions. Their master jeweler, Dominic Ly is amazing! He is a perfectionist who made sure the stones and interior of the ring matched up exactly, even to the point of making sure the engraved words inside faced the same direction. Again, there was no charge for this. Every time we've been in Diamonds Direct we've left with a good, warm feeling. It's not just the prices that are fantastic, it's the people. I visited on vacation recently and I spoke with Linnea to help me "figure out what kind of ring my girlfriend likes." The actual plan was to find the ring to buy. Linnea asked all the right questions and helped me find the perfect ring. My girlfriend had no clue either. I went back the next day alone and finalized the purchase. They're offering a 60 month 0% APR option currently. I flew back home to California before I noticed some kind of fiber stuck in the setting of the ring. I contacted Linnea and she assured me they would take care of shipping and the ring is fully insured through them. Other jewelry stores should take notes from these guys! We (fiancé and I) live in Houston. We visit Austin frequently and we were referred here by friends that live in condos at The Domain. We did a little research and saw that they carried Verragio rings and they offered 60 months financing at 0% interest. I called the store and spoke with Ryan, I told him what we wanted and our budget. We set an appointment and met with him a few days later. We were late due to weather but he was completely understanding of the circumstances. He had the 2 rings and a few stones ready for us (per our phone conversation) but he still welcomed us to browse around as they have a huge selection. He was very welcoming, attentive and patient with us. This particular weekend ended up being a special event weekend with guest host, Christoper Slowinski of Christopher Designs. During this event, they had more Christopher Design rings than they normally carry. Luckily, the timing was perfect because my fiancé fell in love with one of his rings. We browsed around a little more and finished our walk around the case before narrowing down the choices. The Christoper Design ring was the clear winner! Of course, ring was a little more than I what we budgeted. Ryan allowed us to sit in private and discuss our options. He was never overbearing or too pushy, and I never felt uncomfortable or overly pressured. Ultimately, we decided to buy the ring and we couldn't be happier! The ring is amazing and looks like it cost 3x the amount it did! In closing, we're ecstatic that we made the decision to come here. I had an appointment scheduled with Jennifer Anderson. Jennifer was 20 minutes late and when she introduced herself she was short and didn't appear to want to be there. Firstly, Jennifer seemed to discriminate against my partner and I being a younger (30s) same-sex couple. Jennifer made the experience uncomfortable. I went to several other competitors and shopped around for a very long time, got pressured and asked so many questions, that I questioned if I really knew what I was doing. There are SOO many things I never thought about a ring that my head was spinning. Every time I walked into a new store, I would brace myself for the next bombardment of questions. Most places weren't very transparent with their pricing that it became a game of "how much will he spend", and sometimes I felt I had to haggle, which I'm not very good at. Fast forward to my mental breakdown, I decided to punish myself one last time. Diamonds Direct was my final stop, I just had to see what the (what I thought was fake) tv ads, radio ads, and even friends were saying about Diamonds Direct. Just walking up to the building I had so many practiced conversations in my head and the first thing I was going to say to the FIRST PERSON, that said anything to me, was "I'm just looking today". Well, that conversation was CRUSHED when the first thing that came out of the greeters mouth was a welcoming greeting followed by "can I offer you a water....wine...or BEER?!!! *cue jaw drop* Fast forward to meeting our Diamond Expert/Professional Ring Designer/Goddess Among Men/Savior of My Future Marriage, Cora Noyes. Going back to the rehearsed conversations, I had a plan of action for her, that once again was crushed. She was kind, concerned, professional, and knowledgeable. She asked questions and walked my fiancé and myself down a path of creation towards our very own customized ring, well within a budget and getting WAY more than we expected, and we didn't even know it. We were waiting on a catch, but it never came. There were no smoke and mirrors, no bait and switches, and certainly no hustle or hassle. It was comfortable, new, and fun! My soon-to-be said this was the most enjoyable part of the whole engagement and planning process(if you're still planning and know the stresses of it all, can I get an amen!!). All the while this is happening, my band is being "made" from a competitor, we'll call them store Z. we purchased my ring on May 6 and was quoted 4-6 weeks. Ok, that's fine since the bells ringing date is July 21. No prob. Well of course after 6 weeks of constantly calling, and going into the store just to check, we finally get the answer we almost already knew and were terrified of...the ring was not going to be ready until AFTER the wedding. I CANNOT MAKE THIS UP!! We pulled the plug, I'm a very relaxed and patient being, but the line had been crossed. We cheated Diamonds Direct, and yet with open arms and forgiveness, Cora was there to catch us when we fell. She immediately got to work, DESIGNED my band to match my lady's, put it in and will be completed 4 days before the wedding. I've already witnessed the miracles she and this company can perform, so I'm not even worried about the time frame. At the end of the day, I'm a consumer, just like you. I spend money, and save money where I can, but one thing that I always want back at the end of it all is the time I lost trying to save that dollar. Don't waste your time. The commercials tell it all, I hope that I one day get the opportunity to tell my story so people can save the time, hassle , and headache of the competition.
