I came in to drop off 5 of my necklaces to get them untangled. I originally reached out to the team via email, in which they expressed there'd be a 3-week turnaround. When I walked in I felt very safe & secure with the security check at the door. The receptionist immediately referred me to her colleague Seth W. at the nearest counter. He shared that he learned how to untangle from a mentor, so every time he does it he feels like he's honoring that person. Seth finished my "puzzle" within 10 minutes, leaving me very impressed. Also, the pricing and selection is terrible now; so I had to order some custom jewelry for my wife on our anniversary, the sales manger and the sales rep have no desire for customer service at all. Great customer service and pleasant experience! You can definitely tell Diamonds Direct has high expectations and their staff is very knowledgeable about their inventory. I had the same experience when I originally bought my wife's engagement ring 5 years ago at their Dallas location. My only negative would be the parking. Their location is located at The Domain which is already a busy area. They have spots blocked off for their customers only but it was tricky trying to park my truck in one of their spaces. They have a great selection and my wife loves the ring we picked out. The sales guy we that was with was very pushy and most of the store employees feel like a used car dealership. I ended up getting my band online since I wanted a claddaugh design. The diamonds direct manager said "we can do that same ring but better". First, that's copyright infringement. Second, what would that even mean? Ultimately, it was about 25% of the cost and looks way better than the men's rings they had available. I would buy online again without a doubt and not even look here for men's rings. Unless you like the used car shopping experience. The other thing that really bothers me, and happened yesterday, is we went to the store for the inspection they require every 6 months to guarantee the mounting of the diamond. Most people won't do this, so it's almost a scam to begin with that they say it's guaranteed but if you don't do it every 6 months they won't honor the guarantee. This was our first time back since buying the ring. The woman at the front seemed confused we were even asking for an inspection. She said they don't typically do those anymore. If we don't and there's a problem, I'm sure they'll immediately point at the fine print and charge us thousands of dollars. There comes that frightening day when a guy has to step foot in a jewelry store for the first time. No matter what the employees can do, there will always be that feeling of intimidation. On this visit I declined the drink offer and was led to Karren Garces, one of the Diamond Experts. Karren was extremely cheerful and patient. I had so many questions and she answered every single one of them with gusto. She explained to me the various properties a diamond had with samples pieces from their storage. A huge information dump, but I was given time to think things through and made any modifications I wanted. Karren was a master with working with my budget and found the best ring that matched my specifications. Being frugal in nature, I also appreciated all the security and maintenance benefits offered when buying Diamond Direct products. While all the staff there seemed both knowledgeable and personable, I would definitely recommend working with Karren. I came here after a bad experience with a different retailer (I say retailer in this scenario because the place I am speaking of is not a reputable jeweler); my center stone fell out of the first ring I bought after only 4 weeks (not at DD) and I luckily was able to get my money back from them. My FFIL suggested I go to diamonds direct. My FMIL walked in on a Saturday. They greet you at the door and put you down on list. They offer you refreshments and you are able to walk around and browse their vast collection. I got excited pretty immediately because there was so much to look at. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any crazy unique designs, as my first ring was certainly one of a kind, but I was coming to accept that I wouldn't find something like that again. I now know that DD actually can do custom designs, so that is something to consider (though I don't know what the process or pricing is like for that). We were set up to work with Sarah Ellen, who is an absolute delight. Very funny and down to Earth, which I absolutely need. She explained that most of their displayed rings are set with CZ or other, and you are able to customize most designs with your metal type, ring size, setting, and diamond - and then they custom order the design for you and set the stone in store - a process taking about 4-6 weeks. I didn't want to wait so we settled on a pre set item, that they would resize and have back to me the following week. As soon as I left I didn't feel good about it. It was beautiful on me but it wasn't right. I waited until Monday (the store was closed by the time I had a chance to really think about it that night) and spoke with another customer representative. They were so understanding and said if I came in that week they would absolutely make it right. They had the ring I purchased waiting for me so I could try it on again, and when I said it just wasn't right they set me up with a new person to find the right fit (Sarah Ellen was not in that day and I wanted to get it done ASAP). I wish I would have gotten this woman's name, because she was so incredibly patient and helpful . She spent an hour with me picking out the right design, and then stone - even though I was exchanging an item bought from another representative. Since this was not a preset, I picked out a design from a selection she brought out in my budget ( I gave her a range and just a few starting points of what I like and don't like.) Then, once I decided, she brought out about 4 stones that fit with what I was looking for and in the remaining budget. I didn't like any of them so she brought out a few more. I told her I liked those, but wanted something just as big as I could possible afford, upping my budget by 200$. She came back once more with the stone we decided on. A .63 G color that sparkled more than the others. She let me see it in a temporary setting, put it on, look through a loupe, and take it to the window to see it play in the light. Then she allowed me to do the exchange. Lord, help me, I ended up calling Sarah Ellen the next day and was concerned that I needed to change the order to a smaller size. She was so helpful, and made the change. The order ended up being ready the sat before it was due. (She told me 5 weeks, which would have been the following Monday). We happened to be at the Domain and stopped in, totally surprised and delighted that it was already in. I had been told that an appraisal would be given to me upon pick up, but I think because I had come in early they did not have that prepared. They told me they could send it on Monday but I asked nicely if it could be done today. No problem, they made sure to get it to me. I was so absolutely pleased with my ring, and it fit great. Sarah Ellen made sure to stop by one more time before I left to address any concerns I might have. Not once did they make me feel like a bridezilla. Even my FH felt comfortable and welcome. Been meaning to write this review since December! Got my beautiful fiancé her engagement ring here. I did the preemptive research. Search no more, I have a couple points for you. 1. They do buy direct and they're big enough to do it so you're cutting out at least one middle man. 2. All the sales staff I dealt with were gemologists and they have their own lab onsite so I was able to make a last minute change on the day I was picking the ring up. 3. They're are so many online reviews marking them as the best around, why really waste your time at some fancy named shop where a guy who doesn't sell enough is trying to make his week's salary off your one piece? I had a delightful experience with Jennifer whom I first and last bought the diamond from. She was absent as I went in 2 times in between to check things out before pulling the trigger. Every time someone else helped me, they helped as if it were their own sale, couldn't believe it! Not once was I rushed or pressured. I can't say enough how important that is to me in a true sales environment. Fun fact: The day I purchased the ring and I went back to work my boss kind of freaked out. It was the 2nd store out of the 3 we wanted to check out for an engagement ring. We walked in on a Saturday without an appointment and Jennifer greeted us right away and offered us drinks. Jennifer was so sweet, just asked questions about us, what we wanted, what our budget range was and then just went straight into showing us rings! Jennifer was great letting me try on every ring I wanted and even 2 times if I couldn't make up my mind. Jennifer was so patience, personable and informative with us. After trying on rings and picking our top 3, she showed us the diamonds she had in the store. Jennifer was awesome at educating us on things we should be looking out for. She made it a fun experience and was extremely understanding and supportive, since my fiancé and I had different ideas on the ring. After spending 2 1/2 hours with us, we asked if we could think about it. My fiancé asked not to me contacted as the 1st store we went to the sales person has been hounding him daily. Jennifer was so respectful with our request and after shopping around I couldn't stop thinking about the ring Jennifer showed me and how lovely she was. We made an appointment a month later and the moment we walked in the store she greeted us like old friends. I really would like to give this company more stars. Customer service is so important, and they went above and beyond any expectations I and my husband had, and we have very high standards. Anat worked with us throughout, as we designed and redesigned a custom ring - the result PERFECTION. She was patient, beyond understanding, and so incredibly kind.
