These guys are great. I never post reviews online, but these guys are worth it. I've never felt like they misdiagnosed or over charged.

I went to Reliable for 6 years - and was always happy until my past couple of visits. They kept my…read morecar for FOUR HOURS for an oil change and did not tell me that a tech had been injured, causing the delay. when I called at hour 2. If you would've told me that someone was hurt, I would've taken it back the next day. But that option was not provided and then I was made to feel bad about it when I complained that the appointment took so long. They also misdiagnosed a problem with vibration in my vehicle. I ended up replacing the front struts, which probably would've needed it down the road, but it was not urgent or the cause of my problem. They also quoted over $500 more than any local shops for the struts. They were even more expensive than mitis! And they wanted a down payment as a deposit for the work. I've never seen this before. Not just here but anywhere! The kicker is that it was not the struts at all, instead there was a driveshaft problem that they should've seen because I asked them to look at the alignment, steering, and rear differential. They also missed the fact that a rear strut was leaking during that same check (which should've been obvious if they were actually checking the rear differential fluid). When I called to ask why the service was so inconsistent with the actual issue, and to see if they would issue me a refund based on the extra work I had done because of them, I was hung up on. I'm not sure what's going on with the manager but she used to be a very nice person. Not lately. Don't get me wrong, are used to rave about this place. I even took down a five star review in which I joked that I hope they did not get too popular because I liked getting good appointment times. I wish this place was good. They were good for a long time. Not anymore. Watch yourself. Who asks for a deposit especially from a long term customer - over six years I've been going there and always trusted their suggestions and prices. Maybe COVID has affected the way they do business.

I have always gotten excellent service here. They don't press you into buying anything and they…read morereally listen to what is wrong with your car- wheels, tires, breaks , etc. and they will look at your car and tires, breaks etc and sometimes you know that you need new tires but 2 are more worn down and they don't insist on you buying more tires than you need. They will mention sales going on but I have used them for several cars and have left satisfied every time. Today we weren't sure if 2 tires has leaks and if one wheel an the interior part was rubbing the tire or had a nick that was creating a little leak in tires that had been on that wheel so before ordering tires in my size ( the treads are in good condition) they thought that they may need to patch to tires to the rims but after a thorough dunk test- looking for holes and really looking at the 2 tires and the wheel and inside the area around the tire and the breaks and break fluid they said that it was unusual for tires to need air often but they were fine and in about 7500 miles or before keep an eye on the treads and to return if the one tire loses air more often and the bill was low and fair. I have always been treated with respect and appreciate their feedback and they are understanding if you can replace one or two tires and need to wait a few weeks to change the other 2. They actually sold me 4 once but I got an emergency call so they finished putting 2 on and held the other 2 until I could come back a few days later. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and does good work and they won't sell you what you don't need unless you want it. The manager is great as is the assistant manager. Highly recommend!

I love these guys. Their honesty saves me real money. They even allowed me to ship tires from an online shop to them, to install at a great price.

I brought it in and the tires were balanced but when I got on the highway again, my car was still shaking, so I brought it back the next day and that's when Will Feehley, the store manager asked me if I'd ever used Fix A Flat in any of my tires. When I told him that I had and what tire it was, he removed the tire and found that there was the liquid from the Fix A Flat trapped inside the tire and that was why my car was shaking so much. He cleaned it out and the car is perfect now. Will knows a lot about tires and cars in general and I would highly recommend their service at Midas in Pikesville, MD.

Found them through Tire Rack's recommended installers directory and booked an appointment via email on a Sunday (the day before Memorial Day) for the immediate Tuesday morning in Towson. If I was limited to just a single word to describe these guys, it'd be professional. With two words, it'd be professional and friendly. Carl and Mr. Maurice (his uncle) arrived within the quoted time frame (I received a text message about 30 minutes before their arrival saying they were on their way), and the job (removing wheels from car, replacing 4 tires, reinstalling wheels back on car) took about an hour. I've been wrenching on cars for 15 years (as a hobby), and in that time, I've used countless shops, big and small, for tire work, so I'd like to think I have decent knowledge and experience in this space. The service Carl and Mr. Maurice provided was more meticulous than I've ever received. Despite using a typical spin balancer (versus a road force balancer), the balancing performed was absolutely spot on, and my car drives as smooth as new. The other thing that really impressed me about their service was that they used a torque wrench to tighten my lug bolts. Unfortunately, some shops just zip your wheels on using an impact gun and call it a day, while the "better" shops might use a torque stick and call it a day. Torquing 20 lug bolts to spec takes time, and time is money. But there was Mr. Maurice, carefully torquing every one of my wheel bolts to spec on a very humid 75-degree day after already having spent an hour on the job. Like I said, professional. The total for the job was exactly what I was quoted in my email, and I received a final/paid invoice via text message/online. The price for their service is actually no more than what you'd pay at a typical brick-and-mortar tire shop, and it might actually be less. I assume they can be so competitive because they don't have the overhead that tire shops do, but with gas prices being what they are nowadays, the level of service you get from Halls for what you pay is still very impressive. I'll be using these guys for all of my tire needs from now on. Highly recommended.

Hollenshade's, what happened? I've been a solid customer for 20+ years, I take good care of my…read morecars, and I've always trusted your shop to do honest work. Like everybody, I waited patiently in your thimble-sized office, navigated your comically undersized lot, and quietly appreciated the humor of your staff through the years. Thank you for that. So why today was I met by two new faces at the service desk with such a strikingly different attitude? I was surprised to hear oil changes require advance appointments, and you now prefer online. I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. Old guys from the desk, you are missed by your customers! Maybe it's the same great mechanics working behind closed bay doors at Hollenshade's, I don't know. Two guys I've never seen before told me things about how the business works that I've never heard before and treated me in a way no one at Hollenshades ever treated me before. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is not the same Hollenshade's I've trusted for over 20 years. I'm genuinely disappointed that I need to find a new mechanic. I honestly don't know what's happening at Hollenshade's anymore.
