I went to Reliable for 6 years - and was always happy until my past couple of visits. They kept my car for FOUR HOURS for an oil change and did not tell me that a tech had been injured, causing the delay. when I called at hour 2. If you would've told me that someone was hurt, I would've taken it back the next day. But that option was not provided and then I was made to feel bad about it when I complained that the appointment took so long. They also misdiagnosed a problem with vibration in my vehicle. I ended up replacing the front struts, which probably would've needed it down the road, but it was not urgent or the cause of my problem. They also quoted over $500 more than any local shops for the struts. They were even more expensive than mitis! And they wanted a down payment as a deposit for the work. I've never seen this before. Not just here but anywhere! The kicker is that it was not the struts at all, instead there was a driveshaft problem that they should've seen because I asked them to look at the alignment, steering, and rear differential. They also missed the fact that a rear strut was leaking during that same check (which should've been obvious if they were actually checking the rear differential fluid). When I called to ask why the service was so inconsistent with the actual issue, and to see if they would issue me a refund based on the extra work I had done because of them, I was hung up on. I'm not sure what's going on with the manager but she used to be a very nice person. Not lately. Don't get me wrong, are used to rave about this place. I even took down a five star review in which I joked that I hope they did not get too popular because I liked getting good appointment times. I wish this place was good. They were good for a long time. Not anymore. Watch yourself. Who asks for a deposit especially from a long term customer - over six years I've been going there and always trusted their suggestions and prices. Amazing experience with Reliable Auto Care. I dropped my car off because I had a potential leak in my tire, they called me about an hour after I left to let me know they found a nail and that I needed an oil change. Within another hour, I was already headed back to get it! Reasonably priced, great customer service, and very efficient. Definitely will be back. read more

I came for an oil change. (As usually. Before I was quite satisfied). I drive Toyota Corolla, 2011. The lady told me that my battery is about to die, it can happen anytime anywhere. And replacing is 200. A couple of weeks later .... Voila! Red battery sign. Sunday. They are closed. A couple of shops were open, all told me that whoever had put the battery in messed it up - didn't connect to the alternator or something like this. (I'm not a mechanic). How could you mess up just changing a battery? $200 battery is overpriced, and I as far as I understand now, the battery wouldn't die out of the blue - I would have seen a red sign first. Maybe I just started activating the gift card from Verizon - which was 200 bucks, while I was waiting for an oil change. And immediately got news about the necessity of $200 repair. I took my car here twice and was satisfied with my service. But at the end of Oct, I took my car in because it was making a lot of noise. They had my car for about 15 minutes. The woman at the front desk (who isn't very kind) told me that there is something loose in my engine, and that I had two options: (1) I could get a new engine which could cost $4000-$6000, or (2) they would need to take apart my engine to see what the issue is. Taking apart my engine would be $99 each hour for labor, estimated 6 hr worth of labor. That didn't make sense to me so I left and took my car elsewhere. The other business told me that I needed a new timing belt because it was getting ready to break. I got my repairs and all the noise went away... and I certainly did not need a new engine. My last experience at Reliable Auto Care was confusing. I will probably never go back. read more

They gave me a quote to renew my exhaust pipe and while I was there I noticed their promotion to have my cabin air filter replaced for only $29.95 Sounded really reasonable and it was because it was quite a job to replace it on my 2001 Honda CRV. I don't think it was ever replaced. The old filter was so dirty and full of leaves and debris. Now my passengers and I can breath healthy again. What's more, my Air Conditioner seems to be more efficient and cooler now. Thanks for a great job done while I waited. I am sure I will be back next time I need some repairs to my car. read more

This is going to be my go to place for All automotive service...I have a older suv 2003 and I'm always in need of repair or maintenance.,.i trust this place 100% because they don't do price gouging on anything ...they could've very well told me I needed other things expensive repairs done to get me to spend more $$ but they didn't....plus they don't keep yr vehicle for days unnecessarily...I've gotten my truck back in less that 3 hours depending on what repairs I need .... read more

I grew up in MD and have gone to this guy for years. I've since moved to NYC but still stop by when I'm in town and need any work done. Used to be a Midas but the owner James is still the same...dude is pretty rock-solid. Prices are reasonable. I can't say he'll give you the best price in the world but he won't rip you off or do work you don't need...which to me, is huge. I never got the feeling the guy was trying to make more money off of me. I don't need the cheapest mechanic. I just want one that I can trust and does good work. read more

Stopped by after a quick google search due to a tire warning light on my boss' car. The car was taken immediately and Kevin came out to tell me he didn't see any issues with the tire just extremely low pressure. When I tried to pay for his time he wouldn't accept my money. Came here to get an oil change and have my tires rotated. I planned on spending at least 3 hours at this place (usual wait time at most places). Surprisingly I was in and out within 20 minutes. I was pleased that they let me provide my own oil and filter. The guy servicing my car even checked the air pressure in my tires. I think I'll be back to this place to get regular maintenance on all of my vehicles. read more

We have been coming here for years (18-before they were even called Reliable) with several cars (6 different ones) and they have always treated us right. The don't tell you need something done unless you do. Lynn is the manager and has always been helpful. In her absence James has run the shop (as well as working in cars) and he is just as helpful and thorough. I've been a loyal customer for many years, switching to this location for my vehicle repair needs happened kind of by accident. The place I had been using wasn't able to fit me in so I came here & have never looked back. James, Lynn & the crew are GREAT. They're not in the business of blowing smoke to make a quick buck. You can trust that if a repair is recommended.... it's needed. I currently live in Howard County & drive past many much closer shops to get to this one...If that doesn't explain their level of service! I don't know what will. For months I have been delaying brake work, mostly because I feared how expensive it would be, and how long I would have to wait for the service to be completed. I expected to hear that my brakes and rotors needed replacement, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated. The waiting room was spotless, the bathroom was spotless, the service was incredibly friendly and honest, and quick! When I need brake work done again, I will only consider Reliable Auto Care.
