James is not honest and not professional or proficient at cleaning pools. He misses weeks but charges you the same monthly. Charges extra for what should be part of a pool service. Does not scrape the walls if it starts turning green. Says the pool does not have enough chlorine but misses a week and of course bleach is going to evaporate in California heat if you don't service it. Spends maybe 10 min on servicing. The best thing I can say we have someone new servicing and James will not have to text me on a weekly to say he isn't showing up. read more

We actually wanted to drain the pool since it wouldn't be in use. We had no idea that could actually damage the pool. Hired him to service our pool . Started to want to overcharge for chemicals that he does not put in. Does not clean the pool and spends maybe 10 min cleaning. Tells us to buy all the chemicals, water conditioner, skips weeks, changes days. Told us that our filter system wasn't working properly and that we had to replace the pool vacuum, so we called a another pool company to come out and checked the equipment and we were told everything was working fine. And when we told him that we didn't need his service anymore he stop by to give us a final bill and try to charge us for two extra month and also try to charge us for extra chemicals that he never put in, extra shock tablets that we had to purchase and for water conditioners. I meet with James and his mom to discuss taking over the care of my pool. My old guy disappeared. We agreed to a start fee which covered cleaning the filter, he insisted it had to be done, and initial chemical and bruising. Two step process, brush and add chemicals one day and return in 2 days to clean the filter and change the Oring which was leaking. The pool was to remain in service mode, running 24/7 till he came back to complete the start up. Two days later he did return, swept the pool again and added a gallon of chlorine then left. I did not realized this until 2 days after his second visit when the pool pumps woke me from the noise they made when sucking air! The pool had been left in service mode, the filter had not been cleaned and Oring changed so it leaked enough to drop the water level low enough to cause the skimmer to suck air. In addition the filter had been running more than 4 days 24/7. When I contacted him is said the filter didn't need changing for a couple of weeks, so he didn't do it. Learned my lesson, only work with members of IPSSA who have contracts that spell things out. I hate to think of what a new pump would have cost me if it had burned out, melted pipes from heat ect. He has been here only once my pool has now started to turn green. I have called him on several occasion and he has always come up with excuses of why he didn't clean my pool. Found James on yelp and moved forward with him based off his reviews and quick response. The first time he came out to our pool he went over everything with me, showed me what everything was and adjusted everything as needed. The following week he came to the property while we were at work and we were very nervous considering we have three dogs...he was very careful and followed our requests...for example shutting the gate and locking it correctly. My elderly father needed a new pool guy. I checked Diamond Pool's yelp reviews and thought I'd give him a try. I definitely would not recommend this company. The previous pool guy told me that the filter and pump were broken. when James came out to look at it he said everything looks fine and that he needed to charge $220 for the start up fee. I said ok and my father paid him. He came to clean the pool and said the filter was broken and kept saying he would come back on certain days to look at things and he never came back. He is horrible with responding to phone calls, we've asked for our money back and no response, as he never once actually cleaned the pool. He just threw a bunch of chemicals in and never came back. He said he could fix the filter, he never did, never quoted for repairs. He just ran off with my father's money. My father passed away in the midst of all of this and my sister was trying to deal with him and still no resolution. We we had to get another pool guy to do all the work, who told us if James had actually opened up the filter he would have noticed that all the cartridges were gone. James is not reliable in anyway and we feel like he just stole my father's money and didn't do things he said he was going to do. He was real quick to get his money though. First day, someone named James arrived 1 hour late with an attitude. I told him this isn't the way it's going to go. Worst pool service ever, if i could give no stars I would. To start off with, trying to get him to come out and do an estimate took several attempts. He never started that he has different plans to choose from; he quoted me $75 a month. He missed several weeks of cleaning and never notified me until I had to ask if he cleaned that week. He does a half-ass job cleaning the pool and after he would leave, the pool was still dirty and the skimmers were not always cleaned. After one cleaning, he left keys to all properties at my house and I had to call him about them. He has a flyer out stating unlimited filter cleaning, but when I asked him if he had cleaned our filters since he started service in September 2015, he states that unlimited filter cleaning is only for patients who pay $100 a month and that if I wanted the filters cleaned it would be $50. He does not leave/give out invoices even when several requests are made. Came last Thursday to clean my pool and did a shitty job. After he left, my pool had dirty, rocks, and yellow algae in the spa and pool. He claims he does chemical checks on the pool but from the condition of my pool, he doesn't. Had to take a sample of my water to Leslie Pools too have them check the chemicals and they stated that my pool was in horrible condition and all the levels were out of balance. He failed to show up this week for the cleaning and failed to notify us, until we questioned him. He has a poor attitude and does not reply to call or text message.
