I was skeptical to try out a new salon after moving to South Riding, but I tried this salon out by chance after seeing the amazing reviews from other yelpers. When I said I wanted my nails cut short, she cut them short! Other places try and only file your nails down so you come back quicker for a pedi, but Nancy didn't try and tell me what's best. Absolutely love this place. I only go to John, he is my main man. He is so talented, kind, and when you sit with him it feels like you have a friend to talk with about work, life, etc. He always asks you if the shape, length, and overall look is up to your liking before moving on. One thing I love is if I am not sure if I'll like a color or not he will let me test it out on one nail and if I don't like it, he will find something I love. So accommodating. He never makes me feel rushed (like lots of nail places do!). Place is welcoming and CLEAN. He encouraged me to try coffin nails and I fell in love!!! John is the BEST. Went in for a dip powder manicure. The results were just ok. The finish on my nails was not smooth and the person working on me sped through it and it shows. Couldn't stick around to fix it, so I'll just take it as a lesson learned and pass on this place. read more

This nail salon *used* to be a 5 star place. I really liked talking with the people and having a nice, clean salon to go to where they would take care of you for a decent price and color selection. But, recently, they have gone downhill. Here's how: -Multiple times, I have had an appointment and I have had to wait to get seen or they take walk-ins while I'm soaking my nails. -Last time, I called over an hour ahead of time, and they said they couldn't take me. Understandable, but then they changed their mind and said I could come. I come in and they scold me multiple times about being inconvenient and "lucky" that I could be taken. It was very off putting. -They messed up one of my nails (there was a white line all the way through from a scrape) and I asked them nicely if they could fix it. They said "Sorry, no." -Their prices have gone up significantly. I have been coming here for less than a year and nails used to be $35. They are now $50. That's a huge jump. -One time, I came here with nails on from a different nail salon (I went somewhere close to my mom's house since I went out of town to visit her). They were quite rude that I went somewhere else and charged me extra for taking "their" polish off. Not unheard of, but it could have been said upfront. I am a really good customer of theirs and they could have waived it, but they didn't. -They don't trim cuticles or massage with lotion for manicures anymore if you're doing dipped nails. If I'm paying for a manicure, I should at least get things trimmed up besides the nails. The past two times, I have had ragged nails after I have gone and had to trim cuticles/put oil on it, as well as file rough edges with the base coat. Again, if it's jumped in price, I expect excellence. It would be different if it were cheaper and these were "add-ons." -Last time, they used the electronic buffing tool to CUT my nails. It was painful and burned my skin. I have literally never heard or seen this before. -My husband's toenail from his pedicure got trimmed too close and clipped the skin. I had to treat it for several days with Neosporin and a band-aid. -They ONLY take cash tip now. -Technicians are hit or miss. Anna is absolutely amazing but basically, if you get anyone else, they will rush through your nails. Even if you make an appointment with Anna, they switch you once you get there, which is really frustrating. -They are closed on Mondays. At first, I didn't mind, but with federal holidays mostly falling on Mondays (which is a great time to get your nails done), it's actually a nuisance to get a decent appointment time after work since they are closed on Mondays. -The last two times, my dipped nails were grown out in 2 weeks instead of 3-4 weeks. On top of the price jump, I'm probably not coming back. read more

Peter was able to do the design I was looking for - he asked specific questions and quoted me a price before we got too far into the appointment - which I really appreciated (no one likes sticker shock at the register)! He was kind and worked quickly (I got a fill in and a 3D design on four nails - and was in and out in under an hour). Peter even locked in my next appointment. Its not a salon- its a factory! John is in a rush to squeeze in as many clients as he can! In the bargain one ends up with poor quality like i did! After 2 years post pandemic i went there to get tips and powder dip- he was done in like 25 mins!!!!! The nails looked fine but within 10 days, the powder dip starting peeling from near the cuticle! One of them ended up getting entangled in my cotton blanket and ripped my real nail off! I was in so much pain for 3 days! When i went back, John laughed at me when i told him what happened and told me its natural for this to happen in 10 days and I should get fillings! I am sorry i paid him $75 for my nails- i am not going there every 2 weeks to get fillings! I told him he needed to take the tips off and redo plain dip free of cost- he blatantly refused! The pedicure was so bad due to the quality of the old nailpaints that even after 2 hours, the nailpaint woulnt dry and kept coming off- i went there 2 times to get it fixed!! I've been seeing John at Diamond Nail Lounge for over a year now. He's done my nails for all events leading up to my wedding as well as my wedding and I've been thrilled with the results. Every time I come to him with an idea or inspiration photo, he executes it perfectly. He's also very efficient without compromising on the quality or longevity of the services. I've never had an issue with my nails chipping or coming off and I keep them on for at least 3-4 weeks at a time. I've had friends come to get their nails done with me and they've switched from their regular nail tech to John after seeing him once. This is definitely a go to place for all of the ladies who want the latest designs on their nails. I have noticed a lot of the local nail shops in the surrounding area only like to do gel Polish changes or acrylic nails with simple color changes. They do not care too much for the challenge of showing a picture of a design and having to recreate them. This shop is really great at recreating inspiration images you show them. They also are really fast. I'm not sure how they are with mani/ pedi so I can't vouch for that but if your looking for fun,nails for certain occasions/events then this is definitely a place to go to. This nail salon is tucked behind the McDonalds right off Ox road. The girls here are all so friendly and pay attention to detail. I have had both a dip and gel manicure and I always leave satisfied. Don't worry about bringing your own nail polish because they have a ton of OPI and Essie polishes to choose from. I started coming coming here over Luna nails because they do a better job and are not trying to turn over so many customers at one time. Another plus is that you can pay and tip with credit card where some salons make you tip in cash. Definitely recommend! read more

I sat down and he went straight to shaving my nails down and gluing the acrylics on. There was no before care to my nails not even a bowl of water, he glued my nails to my skin he didn't moisturize my hands before or after didn't care for my actual nail my cuticles weren't pushed back or anything. I had a pedicure and for the first time ever the day after my nails started chipping they kept on pushing for gel for my toes which I never do. IF THERE IS A ZERO STAR OPTION I WOULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS. JOHN WAS SO BAD AND RUDE HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SOOOO HORRIBLE. I have been getting my nails done for about five years which is a long time and I have never gotten my nails done in less than an hour. I went to Diamond Nails with this guy named John, and when I tell you this guy took 30 minutes. He rushed my nails so much and it ended up looking so poorly done. It looks like it's been done by a 9 year old. My appointment was at 10 o'clock. I came in at 10 o'clock and he already had a client Who ended up leaving at 10:15 so I started at 10:15 and then he had another client walk in at 10:45 and when he saw that client walk and he ended up rushing the last part of my nails, he gave me no hand massage, didn't even rub in the cuticle oil onto my nails, which decent nail techs always do. He just slapped the oil onto my nails and said OK you're done. I told him I wanted a shade of red. He gave me a pallet with only 3 or 4 shades of red, when I asked if he had any more he said no, then after he put on the color and did my nails. He said that he has about 700-800 nail colors that I could've chosen from but HE liked those shades of red so he wanted me to choose from that. I did not ask for his opinion I wanted to choose my own color and but he only let me choose from what HE liked which ended up looking horrible .He definitely overcharged, me the design that I showed him had long nails but mines were much shorter then the image, and then he said and I quote " I don't charge for length, I charge for design, but if you were to get them longer, I would have charged you extra" sir, how does that even add up? It's so contradicting and so poorly said he charged me the same price as he would if I had gotten them longer. When he asked if I liked them I say yes ONLY because I was nervous in the moment and then when I walked out, I worked up the courage to go back in there and tell him that I didn't like them and I was very polite about it, I didn't yell I did not say anything disrespectful, I just told him how I felt, I was not rude in any way, shape, or form then he started calling me crazy and he was being so rude and disrespectful. His customer service was so horrible, any other DECENT nail tech would have asked how they could fix my nails because I paid so much money for them. I walked out of there LITERALLY CRYING. My birthday was the next day and I was sooo sad about how ugly my nails were. I will never go to this place again and I hope it shuts Down. That's how bad of an experience I had with this place please do not go there save yourself the drama, the disrespect and save your nails. I threw away $86 on the ugliest set of nails I have ever gotten in my life. JOHN IS THE WORST!!! When I asked for a refund he was being so awful and when I said I'll go back to fix them he said that if I go back there will take them off and charge me $10 for taking them off. read more

Had my nails done (full set) by Peter. I called ahead and booked an appointment but I guess they double book at this salon because he was going back and forth working on my nails and another customer at the same time (no explanation whatsoever). His station was filthy. I could see cut nails from previous clients on the table and all over the floor. In general, not sure how that place is passing inspections. He was also very rough. I had to tell him to slow down and stop poking/scratching me multiple times. His attitude was weirdly annoyed/combative from the minute I sat down. What could I have done between literally walking in and sitting down that could have offended him so? No clue. Don't be fooled by the 4.5 stars. This place is not it, look elsewhere. read more

Update:UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!!!! This place is far from what it used to be. I went in to have a polish change on my toes and a gel manicure. The polish change on my toes was done well. I then had someone else do my gel manicure. Nothing was being done correctly. My nails were kept under the light for 90 seconds, an electric file was taken to my nails (nothing was on them) to work on my cuticles and then the top of my nails shaved with the electric file (never had that done before). The male tech then proceeded to paint my nails and it was AWFUL! He was trying but it was so badly done. Finally Nancy came over and corrected the issue. However, my cuticles were never done correctly, they look awful and my nails now have a yellow tint to them from being under the light way too long! My mom, sister and I visited Diamond Nail on a Sunday. We made an appointment (suggested) and we were met with friendly faces. There were so many nail colors to choose from including new fall colors. The staff was so friendly and did an amazing job. We have never found a salon where we all leave completely happy with our nails. We all agreed that our manicures and pedicures were the best we ever had! We can't wait to go again! I can't rave enough about this nail salon. They're amazing! I bought 2 Groupons. One to use, one to gift. When I called to see if I could drop-in, Tansy wouldn't see me that afternoon, made me wait till morning. When I arrived the next day, she and I were the only ones in the shop. She did a hard up-sell and then never made me feel relaxed as she pressured me to Yelp her a good review! Meanwhile, i tipped $20 as a courtesy because her business was so new and the place remained empty the entire time I was there. Frankly, she didn't even knowledge with a smile my consideration. A couple of months later, and I had bought a different gift for my friend--and the next Groupon was expiring so I tried to use it myself. I was told in no uncertain terms that, since I had already been in, she would not honor the Groupon. That was extremely aggravating. Now, I refuse to use or recommend her business. read more

I was very disappointed with the service here. I was so excited initially to have an appointment with John as I found him on instagram and heard/saw great reviews. Turned out he only made a slot to see my cousin & not both of us. I wasn't upset as this happened since this place had 4.5 reviews.... Boy was I wrong. They turned me over to another "nail tech" lady... got there at 6:30pm & didnt leave until 8:15pm. Yet my cousin got the same service with John & finished in less than 1 hour! The whole station I was at was just gross. I didn't see her clean any utensils from her client before. I was just hoping she used new ones. Since the start she didnt shorten/cut down my actual nails that were already grown out a bit, she was drilling down so much on my nail that it burned & stung. When she actually got to adding the acrylic, the 2 layers she added on my right thumb started to BURN under the UV machine. It got to the point where the tip & actual thumb started going numb & aching horribly. All she did was add alcohol. Did not seemed phase, that to me is not normal. She couldn't do either design I had originally showed her, until we came up with this. She had a very hard time drawing just the flowers... :( there was no clean up until I asked & yet there are patches of glue or acrylic around my fingers. Some of my nails especially the thumb still ache the next day I woke up. Did not even bother asking for her name. But, will definitely not come back. There are better services closer to me. Hopefully my nails don't get any infection, I will get these professionally removed & redone else where. read more

I had an appointment will John . He has always done a good job . Side note : don't get the chrome nails from here, they chipped In 2 days . Like I stated John has always done a great job especially the shape . Even though I booked with Peter I was passed on to John . So I arrived to my appointment and he seemed irritated. That's not a deal breaker because I am also in customer service . I work at Ulta as an Elite- stylist. I'm also #1 in the region so I'm familiar with clients and customer service. I tried to have small talk with him but he wasn't trying to have that. I asked him about a red color I wanted for the holidays and which tone of red I should use. He answered very rudely with " it doesn't matter red is red". At this time I decided I was not going to continue being treated badly . I decided not to get the red and just wear my natural nail color. Talking to one of my co workers who knew him she confirmed he has a bad attitude. I'm writing this review because i wanted to warn others about this salon. We shouldn't have to be treated badly and also pay. I've always tipped $20. -$25 dollars I will take my money elsewhere where I'm appreciated as a customer. read more
