Chewy is very sweet and gentle, Andrew is a bit more aggressive for love/attention I had fun with them for a good 10 minutes while being help. Somewhere in the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023 I brought in two diamond earrings I had…read moreinherited from my mom. The posts hurt my ears as they were too large. Mount Washington mounted them on silver mounts and posts, and weighed my old post and knocked off eight dollars or something like that off the approximately $200 bill. I only wear the earrings on special occasions and I'm certainly not rough with them, and the post broke off one. So a few weeks ago in July 2026 I brought them into Mount Washington jeweler to have the post repaired that had fallen off. They took both earrings and to make sure the post was good on the other one, I told them I had had them done by them and they charged me $90 to put a new post on the earring that it broke off. I just picked up the earrings, and the owner said to me that the solder looks good on the other earring so they repaired the one that they had done before. They implied that they had not done the other earring and they were just checking it for me. Now I'm confused. They did both earrings. I reminded him he did both earrings. To which he talked over me and wished me a happy day and bye-bye have a great day. The weather is good, see ya. Maybe I'm wrong, and you can all tell me I am. But to me, his lack of I owning his work, and probably should repair it considering it's my work kind of left me scratching my head. Does this mean that every third year I'm gonna have to pay $90 for a post that falls off because I have to trust that his work only holds for three years? Are they the only dog in the game? I don't know. I moved here from California and I just picked them out out of the phonebook. Is it normally close to $300 just to get a new setting for two earrings? I don't know. I'm kind of at a loss for words right now. I'm still trying to figure out what happened.

I recently accepted a project, from my Grandmother to get her ring repaired. (Read my next review why this was a "project") Well, I took it to Keva around 2:00p,m. today, got the estimate (because they have an onsite Jeweler-like you would expect from a jewlery store). Carla, was not only prompt in welcoming me to the store but was friendly as well. We had a laugh when she asked "Are you wanting it repaired or wanting to sell it?" because in all honesty, I just laid it on the counter and started rambling. Not telling her what I wanted at all. She took it over to Kevin the Jeweler, he took a look at it,came to the counter, introduced himself and explained what needed to be done. "One prong. $xx.xx amount the other three as well, $xx.xx amount" Cleaning, something else and something else included. I cant remember now. And I was on my way to confirm with my Grandmother the service and date the job was expected completed. I came back 15 minutes later, they had the job. They've actually been in business over 20 years. They had a small shop, over near a Dr. Office park. And moved to Jungle Jims somewhat recently.(There not in the Grocery itself. Their to the right of CiCis pizza. About in the smack dab center of the shopping strip) When you enter the shop, you'll think it's a mall Jeweler. Bright lights, modern/contemporary design. Very professional appearance. Kevin works on the jewelery in the open, but near the corner he's got his work station setup. You can tell he's a perfectionist by how clean the area is. And they are animal lovers. They've got a German Shepard, that patrols the back of the cases and is friendly without being annoying (licking your face,barking while your trying to talk. Pros-Attentiveness, prices, explanation of services, cleanliness. Variety of different types/styles of jewelry. (not a ton of one style and only one of something else.) ability to make custom settings on the spot. (see my next review why I'll never go to a shipping house jeweler again), an estimate in under 10 minutes, no pressure sales approach. Cons- Unless I over looked it, not a big selection of Mens jewelery. -----------------once I receive the ring back I'll update on quality of work------------------- Edit: I got the ring back recently and my Grandmother had an ear to ear smile. I thought the ring was a gift from my Grandpa, it was from her Grandmother. It's at least 65 years old, however after getting it back from Keva, it looked like a brand new ring. When I got it back, Kevin explained what all he had done with the setting, showed where one of the above mentioned prongs needed tightened and made the main diamond shine like a new car on a clear day. Kevin takes time to chat with His Customers. He wants you to come back, and it shows in His handling and explanation. My ring was a small potatoes job for him, however I felt like I was a priority because of his and Carlas attentiveness and willingness to listen and explain. The only days they are closed, Sunday and Monday.

I had previously taken it to several local Dayton area jewelry shops and they all told me that it couldn't be repaired because the diamonds had a unique shape and were not available anymore. Keva not only found the stones but replaced them with expert precision. The bracelet looked like it had never been damaged at all! I will never take any jewelry for repairs to any other jeweler. Shulz Jewelers…read more Many years ago when Schulz was located in Covington, Kentucky, they were the place to buy jewelry or get a clock or watch fixed. The old man had come from Germany where he was a jeweler and he was the best. Now they are located in Ft. Mitchell and the old man is long gone. I took a watch there to get a new battery and they said I had to leave it for a week before they could give me an estimate as to how much it would cost to repair. I was also told it never actually takes a week. They never called as promised. I was told it would cost round $250.00 to repair and I would have to wait another 5 to 7 weeks. In the past they charged me $125.00 for a new crystal. Another jeweler I found charges $50.00. I finally got it back after 10 days and took it to another jeweler. The new jeweler replaced the battery for $15.00 and said that an insulator was blocking the battery, which probably occurred when Shulz first looked at it. The new jeweler fixed it. Fifteen dollars and 15 minutes not $250.00 and seven weeks. Times have certainly changed.
