We had four bathroom granite countertops installed by Pius Kitchen and Bath. Most of the process…read morewas excellent, but surprisingly, our experience ended on a sour note such that we will not use Pius again and recommend caution to anyone who does. Sophie, the manager at the very nice Pius Tacoma showroom and our only contact in dealing with our project, was very helpful in all aspects of selecting the granite stone. A trip to the Pius warehouse in Seattle 's SoDo neighborhood near Century Link Stadium showed quite an impressive operation as we selected our stone panels. The installers did an amazing job of measurement, stone cutting, and tight fitting installation - but that is when things began to go wrong. Pius has great prices but be forewarned, they only install and are not responsible for anything other than putting the countertops in. You are responsible for tearing out your old countertops and preparing your home with floor coverings to protect from dirt and dust. That's OK as they made it clear that is how they operate. And there is a lot of dust from cutting the countertops in your driveway or front yard that they "try" to clean up "as best they can". Our problem and deep disappointment and let-down was their refusal to address the inadequate final cleaning of the countertops. The installers left a residue of fine dust and a thin film of glue that blemished the luster of the countertops. The head installer did wipe down the countertops with acetone but never changed rags and left a covering of dust and film. We asked him about it as he finished, and he said we "could use Windex for a final cleaning". OUR MISTAKE - We should have insisted right then that he redo his cleaning to remove the dust and film because as we found out after he left, our attempts with Windex did not remove the thin film of glue on the countertops. We emailed Sophie detailed pictures and videos of the blemished countertops along with observations proving this was dust and a film of glue that should have been removed by their installers. And we asked her to send someone to inspect and fully clean the countertops. Additionally, a 3rd party contractor we used to remove the old countertops who is a contractor Pius routinely works with also told Sophie the countertops were not properly cleaned. To all this, Sophie never called to clarify our comments and instead emailed a response that what we were seeing were "normal stone defects" they could not take out. Her comment was totally false! We researched cleaning products and to our great relief, we were able to clean the dust and film from the countertops to our full satisfaction. However, the blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and owning up for something they were responsible to handle soured us from doing further business we were planning to do in remodeling our kitchen. We will never use Pius Kitchen and Bath again and don't care how good their prices might be. If you still decide to use Pius, be sure to observe and carefully inspect the final cleaning and insist the installers fully clean your new countertops to the same luster you see in their showroom.

This resulted in cabinetry that could not fit the space. I was blamed by the owner, but because all information was corresponded via email, the owner messed up the order and it was glaringly obvious. After several emails back and forth I was promised a check amount in refund. At no point did the owner measure the space, walk me through the plans and details, nor said they were sorry for screwing up. I am supposed to get a check refund when they return on the 2nd. If done, I will change my review to a 2 star review. Be careful folks.

Originally, I thought I would just refresh my kitchen as Cupboard and Clay has a great selection of unique tiles and cabinetry but we ended up doing a complete redesign within the existing space. The design work Kayron did was beyond what we could have imagined ourselves. The attention to detail and innovative approach to a space is so worth it. I am glad we did not limit ourselves and went ahead and did a design consult that went beyond replacing tiles and cabinets. Kayron is so patient and thorough. She listened to our needs and really understood how we use the space. There was no cookie cutter approach to her design. She was also extremely responsive when we had questions when the contractor was doing the work. I will use Kayron on my next project!

Out of curiosity I checked the reviews for this place and decided I was not imagining things. My mother and I went in with my two well-behaved children. We have a business and I whole-heartedly respect the work that goes into staging product. Therefore, my kiddos are always reminded and are not running, grabbing or yelling in stores. The woman behind the counter glared at us and seemed put out that we had even entered. The kids were great and we had intended on buying quite a bit of things for a dinner party coming up. She then said some very rude comments to my children when they smelled some candles. I was just floored; we took off immediately. I ignore a lot of nastiness, because, well, it doesn't seem to be worth confronting, but DO not mess with my kids. I love to support Gig Harbor businesses and do every chance I get. I will be recommending I & E tile Services to all my friends! I wanted to find a great tiler…read morebecause I had a lot of tile work that needed to be done on our remodel and some of the tile had uneven edges and the kitchen tile had different shapes, so I needed someone who knew how to tile more than just basic tile. I asked an employee of the tile store if she knew of a great tile person and she immediately recommended Ivan. In fact, she told me that he was about to start a project on her house, so she really meant it. I called Ivan and he responded quickly. I immediately sensed that he knew what he was talking about and took great pride in his work which was important to me. Ivan and Sergei, who is also absolutely experienced and incredible, could not have done a better job! The tile was layed out perfectly, the grout lines are perfect and they cut the tiles so the pattern looks amazing throughout. Check out the photo I attached of the corner wall in my kitchen. The large fireplace really needed people with extensive expertise because it turned out that unbeknownst to me, those tiles also were not exactly even. Before this project, I hadn't realized that a lot of tiles aren't the same exact size even if you think they are, so you need someone who really knows how to handle that. Ivan and Sergei spent a lot of time with a laser light pointer to make sure everything lined up perfectly and the end result is fantastic! The fireplace with the little tiles was also challenging because the little tiles kept coming off the mesh backing they came on. Ivan figured out how to make them stick on their backing prior to applying them and the end result is perfect. They also did our bathroom for us including a glass shower nook and that too, came out perfect. In addition to all that, everyone at I & E is extremely professional, timely, great at communicating and friendly. They take great pride in their work and it shows. I'm very grateful for the amazing job they did. You won't be sorry if you hire them!

They had a few issues with the process, but what blew me away was that every time I found a problem the owner immediately wrote me a check to cover the damage with no hesitation. Overall though it is a good product, it did a great job of sealing around all of the top and bottom plates, and I'm sure a bunch of other places I can't see. The aerobarrier got me down to 1.2 ach50, which surpassed my target. Their main guy was out of town, so they sent a less experienced tech. They ended up not taping off all of the plumbing penetrations, so we ended up getting sealant stuck in the dryer vent, b-vent, and a few other places. They either sent someone immediately to clean it up, or paid to replace the item when cleaning wasn't possible. They gave me an extra refund for the trouble. I wished I had the more experienced tech for the blower door, as this guy missed several things that would have improved the score. There was a window which was ajar, some plumbing penetrations which weren't taped off, and the HVAC duct work to the original house (which was square footage excluded from the test) needed to be taped off but wasn't. He also didn't know how to do a duct leakage test to the exterior (running duct leakage during blower door essentially). But I can't complain too much, as I still received a score which exceeded my expectations.
