Ok, so let me start by saying this... Milan seems like a cool guy and my experience outside of the actual installation was good, however the actual installation is the most important thing when running an audio store.
I brought my car in right before Xmas- I just got a new job and was about to make a cross-country trip with the family, so I decided to deck my car out to make the one-week trip a bit easier. So I decided I would get a new in-dash nav with the works (rear view camera, steering wheel controls, extra aux input, satellite radio) and get my front windows tinted (I was moving to hawaii). I called around to several stores for pricing, and after talking to Milan, he gave me the cheapest price and made it seem as though getting the installation was no problem- he just told me to bring the car in the next day and it would be good to go by the time I got out of work. Seemed great to me, so I arranged to drop the car off and have a friend take me to pick it up after work. This is where the trouble begins.
I dropped my car off, no problem. When I went to pick up the car, I was informed that his tint guy couldn't make it so the tint didn't get done. Sigh. Ok, that's fine, as long as the rest was done... Then comes the bill. I was told all the work would be done for a grand. I get the bill which is $1100, and this is WITHOUT my windows getting tinted. I mention this and Milan nonchalantly acknowledges his quote but makes no adjustments and informs me that I can bring the car back for the windows to get done. Being that I'm kind of in a rush to get out of there, I said I'd try to find time to get back in, paid, and took off. As I'm driving home, I realize that half of the lights in my dash are out... Umm okay. I call the store back immediately and let him know, he says just bring it back in the next day and they'd take care of it. So I make it home, and in my lot start messing around with my new toys. I'm checking out all the functions, changing the colors on the unit, putting in my CDs to check out the audio, and... We'll problem #2.
I put in a cd, crank it up, and the audio is garbled, wavering between quiet/loud, and basically sounds like complete garbage. I just put over a thousand bucks into my car and it sounds 10x worse than my factory system? Seriously?? I call back again and they said they'd look at it when they were doing the lights. They're willingness to look at the problem is all well & good, but it's not the most convenient thing for me to figure out how to get my car to the store, back to work, and then back to pick it up. Regardless, it had to get done so I made arrangements to drop it off the next day. On a good note, I arrange to drop it off on my lunch hour a couple days later, Milan agrees to try and get the tint done, the lights fixed, and the sound issues squared away, and on top of that, gets a guy from the shop to drop me back off at work. All is good, I get a call later that day that I can come pick it up after work (minus the tint because his tint guy couldn't make it again), which I do. He had fixed the lights in the dash, adjusted the interface which fixed my audio issues (all free of charge) and get the car back. All is good, and I'm on my way.
So, everything seems fine at this point. I'm packing to leave Philly about a week later, where we realize that the tailgate window on my 4runner now doesn't go down. WTF. I don't have time to take it back at this point, so we suck it up, pack everything up, and hit the road the next day. On the trip, I manage to find a forum online & see that the tailgate is an electrical reset issue, which I can fix myself pretty easily. Nbd, fix it. When we get to middle America, I decide it's time to get our SiriusXM on, but when I switch to my satellite option, it is acquiring NO SIGNAL. As in the antenna was not installed correctly and there was no connection. Great, good thing I spent $75+ on getting something I can't use. Next, about 5 days into the trip, a loud buzzing starts coming out of the front right speaker. Seriously. I am getting infuriated at this point because I could have saved money and time at this point by ordering my own stuff off of crutchfield and doing the installation myself. After doing 5 minutes of research I find out that the the buzzing happens when wires are not properly shielded and installed to closed to each other... I just paid a "professional" a lot of money to avoid the hassle of self-installation, but got stuck with amateur workmanship.
Anyways, I get my car to California, ship it out of port to Hawaii, get to pick it up about a month later (Jan. 20), and I now have a truck with a nice head unit, no satellite radio, an intermittently buzzing speaker that now also fades in & out, and no tinted windows... For $1107.00, not exactly chump change. The car has had maybe 2 weeks of use before everything went to sh*t, and I now have to take everything apart and reinstall it myself or pay another shop to redo it. Thanks! read more
