However, I want to focus on Bob Benfield, the greatest bus driver and quite possibly human being I have ever met. He drove for Bob Rogers Travel and I will put this review there as well. Bob puts his entire heart and soul in everything he does. He travels with mints in a basket, cold water and soda, which he wraps in paper towels for cold hands. He brought all the equipment needed to clean the whole bus. He travels with it. He has dad jokes a plenty but also vast knowledge of every place we passed. He drove through a terrifying snowstorm and we barely noticed. He's steady and pleasant no matter what, and this includes some creative city drivers. I was in the front seat and this man would see me take off my sweater and turn the temperature down. His life resumé is amazing and I could have listened to his life for hours. Simply the best person I have met. For Bob Benfield alone I give all his associated employers 5 stars.

Answers to any "fun quizzes" were always acknowledged by the people in front though people in the back would indicate that they also knew the answer. Apparently she regarded any comments as complaints to the extent that she loudly announced to a full restaurant that " I can never satisfy them, they are always complaining". I had always heard positive reports regarding this company before purchasing a tour but NEVER again.

Will be going back there for a weekend.

Highly recommended. Public transportation and over half the cab services in the area were closed…read morethe day before a holiday, with absolutely no Ubers or Lyfts available. They answered my questions and arrived right on time. Most importantly, they were very affordable because their pricing was based on the actual distance traveled instead of the flat-rate pricing used by many of the other taxi companies I contacted in the area. The driver was also very professional and polite. I would definitely use them again.

We were specific that we wanted to make sure we went to a place with lots of excursions and activities and she found us a place where we were able to go on adventures in the morning and be back in time to enjoy happy hour and a relaxing afternoon at our resort. Sarah was always available when we had questions and made sure to check in with us before the wedding week stress to make sure everything was ready to go so we did not have to worry about a thing for the honeymoon. We will absolutely be using her again for all of our travel needs (the sky is the limit now that we have our passports)! Thank you again Sarah for all of your help!

They charge a deposit for the long time stays. At the end, I was told that it would be applied toward my electric bill. I was there 1 month and I ran air conditioning 3 or 4 nights. There is no way, I ran up a $250 electric bill. I called the office for receipts and never received them. I had to dispute this amount with my credit card company to get it refunded.

It was a great mix, everyone is so friendly, the campground is huge!! The pool is nice, it has 2 nice playgrounds for kids, basketball court, tennis courts, a game room (costs money for the arcade games and pool table) and putt putt (also costs, cheap though). It has a closed gate, they give you key cards to get in, we felt very safe! They keep raising the prices, but I feel like everyone else is too.. The only thing is the sites are wildly unlevel and all the spots are gravel, hardly any grass in the majority of the sites. If we get another assignment in this area we will 100% be back!

Instead, I was able to appreciate the exterior of this Civil War era home in Statesville. The marker reads, "Col. Silas Alexander Sharpe. March 5, 1840 to December 9, 1903. Dedicated to the memory of Col. Silas A. Sharpe, a prominent industrialist and political leader in Statesville throughout the second half of the 19th century. He was sworn as the first Mayor of the City of Statesville on March 25, 1867. The home of Col. Silas A. Sharpe remains here as one of the oldest houses in Statesville and has been rightfully placed on the National Register of Historic Places." The Classical Revival home has deep ties to the civic leadership of Statesville as it was the home of the city's first mayor. Construction began in the 1850s but the Civil War delayed progress and it was eventually completed in 1866. The two-story three-bay frame dwelling includes a dramatic two-story portico with clustered columns and a symmetrical facade. The large windows, central hallway plan and deep porch are all classically intended to improve ventilation and comfort in the Southern climate. As I mentioned, I didn't tour the home but perhaps on a future visit to Statesville, I will see about doing that. [Review 588 of 2026 - 4677 in North Carolina - 25769 overall]
