We were stranded late Saturday night in Boone on the last day of our vacation because our rental car got a flat and the spare tire was bad. We were able to communicate with Abby Cab late Saturday night and they secured a car for us first thing Sunday morning to drive us two hours to the Charlotte Douglas Airport in time for our flight. Tommy was kind and prompt and a very knowledgeable and safe driver. His vehicle was safe and clean for installing the two carseats for my kids. Abby Cab is definitely a great option for transport in the North Carolina area.

What a great little Inn! The room we were in was clean, though compact, and of course there's the BALCONY looking over the mountains! What a great view! The gentleman in charge there was welcoming, friendly, and patient with us. You can order breakfast and/or dinner, which is added in with your bill. Not exaggerating when I say he made us one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had, with thick slices of perfectly ripe tomato, and perfectly cooked/seasoned crinkle fries. In the morning, we had some of the best biscuits with sausage gravy, and pancakes and bacon since my grandma's! I'm sure the fresh, cool, mountain air had something to do with our appetites, but really, he did an excellent job at making some simple comfort food. Good/fair prices on the lodgings and food, nice company and stellar views=AAA+++ in my book. We'll definitely be back!

My room had the usual dated feel that you expect from an older small roadside property but it was well maintained and clean. I can't emphasize enough how clean it was from the towels and linens to the fixtures and furnishings. Debbie was nice and helpful when she greeted me during checkin. The property was quiet. My only complaint was that the house out back kept their flood light on. I am an astronomy buff so I was hoping to get some quality dark sky viewing in since I am from Atlanta and never get views like that. No big deal and probably kept on for safety. The family that runs the lodge are some of the nicest we've ever met. We so appreciated the above and beyond hospitality like keeping the kitchen open late for us as we rushed back from an App State game that went into triple over time, cooked to order breakfast each morning and beer flowing long after closing time! We were big fans of Blind Squirrel Brewing before and now we're happy to call ourselves fans of the lodge and restaurant. One note... We stayed in the River Room and while it was comfortable, clean and welcoming, it's on the side of the building, so the street light shines right into the windows. I had a little trouble sleeping because the room was so illuminated. My boyfriend, however, slept like a log. So, it may not bother everyone. ;)
