I live out in the middle of nowhere myself. Trying to get an Uber, or a Lyft on the fly, or even by scheduling for it, is dang near impossible. I've had to tip well over $100 just to get someone to pick up a ride scheduled well in advance. I've also tried riding with other services based out of Hickory, and have regretted each time i thought I had no other choice but to call them. Deeply regretted it. I have found them to be way overpriced, excessively forceful with their personal beliefs. Insulting of people I hold dear. I've also found them to be unreasonable, with no respect for a the customers needs or schedule. While I'm not going to disparage or call out by name any particular local service, I will say this. Don't take a cab. Get a ride! A smaller company, Rides Taxi service deserves your business and to grow. Don't get stuck over paying for a cab that you just can't wait to get out of. Call for a ride from these folks and feel welcomed, appreciated, and like a part of their family. LGBTQIA respectful. Never feel like you're being judged by your driver again family. I had trepidation, reading a few reviews and hiring Hickory hop. It turns out like any organization they have had an employee that didn't work out., And the situation was quickly resolved once it came to their attention. My experience was excellent. They called me the night before and prompted me to call once I landed in Charlotte. They were clear and direct on time of pick up , courteous and enjoyable. The 3 hour total drive went very quickly as chose to lightly chat with the friendly, interesting and personable drivers. The stop over in the small private airport easy a basic snack bar/ café, a neat small airport museum, and a very quick break between rides that again was brief and just as they described, e.g. 15 minutes later, my second driver and van came. I strongly recommend Hickory Hop and don't forget to ask about the punchcard.
