We had an excellent experience working with Jared and his team from Diablo Lawnscape. From start to finish, everything was smooth, efficient, and stress-free. The team completed the work incredibly quickly without ever sacrificing quality, and the end result turned out beautifully. Communication was one of the standout parts of working with Jared -- he was always easy to reach, responsive, and happy to talk through ideas. He even came by in the evenings to walk through plans with us whenever we had questions, which really showed how much he cares about his clients and their vision. He is professional, knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy with the final result. We're so pleased with how our yard turned out and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for high-quality landscaping work with great communication and follow-through. read more

We needed to landscape our old tired front yard, and we were referred to Jared and Diablo Lawnscape. I met with one landscape designer prior to meeting with Jared, I felt as though that designer wasn't understanding my vision. In addition the idea of paying a designer, then shopping contractor bids, dealing with both designer and contractor, seemed like a considerable contribution of time and energy. My wife and I both have demanding careers, we are short on both. Jared on the other hand is a one stop shop! I met with Jared and reviewed 2 different design concepts, then settled on one. I felt Jared really understood the basic idea of what we wanted, then he took the concept and ran with it. If you want to be more involved, Jared would welcome it. For us, we let him take the lead, and had to make a few simple decisions along the way. Super easy, super stress free. The end result was spectacular. It was incredible to see something I'd been thinking about for so many years finally come to life. We could not be happier, and I cannot recommend Diablo Lawnscape enough. read more

Jared with Diablo Lawnscape did an excellent job executing our backyard landscape project. The design, by Kelly Marshall Garden Design, focused on California native plants, and Jared brought the plans to life just as we envisioned. The new patio and back porch steps were installed beautifully, and the craftsmanship throughout the project really shows. The raised garden beds and irrigation system were installed efficiently and cleanly, making the space both functional and easy to maintain. Jared was reliable, communicative, and professional from start to finish, and the project cost stayed exactly within the budget we had planned. We're very happy with the results and would confidently recommend Diablo Lawnscape for high-quality landscape installation work. read more

I've worked alongside Diablo Lawnscape on several projects and they're excellent to collaborate with. I've handled HVAC service at Jared's home and coordinated AC removals/reinstalls for his clients during renovations, and everything has always run smoothly. Jared communicates clearly, stays on schedule, and has a strong eye for detail. Jared's construction experience and leadership show in the quality of the finished work, and his crew is professional and respectful. Highly recommend. read more

Our experience with Diablo Lawnscape was exceptional on every level. From consultation to design to execution, we couldn't have been more pleased. We had half a backyard completely unfinished, just dirt, underground rocks and weeds. On top of that our budget was really limited, to the point where we thought we'd never be able to afford anything different. Jared found a solution that not only worked but really realized our dream yard. He adjusted for multiple design revisions, he advised us on and allowed for us to tackle projects ourselves to save money without judgement. They planned for and finished our project in time for my husband's 50th bday celebration. And even took on extra projects we didn't expect because he offered a reasonable price. He's since checked in to ensure our plantings are progressing as expected. Jared is well known and respected in the Diablo community, as we learned telling people who we were working with. We loved that small town feel from a local business. Timely, professional, courteous, and creative. read more

I hired Jared and his team at Diablo Lawnscape to redo my parents' front yard, which was looking tired and used a lot of water. My parents and I didn't have a specific plan--just wanted something that looked great, was low maintenance, and used less water. Jared was fantastic to work with. He came up with the design, had great ideas, picked out all the plants, flowers and trees, and handled everything from start to finish. The yard turned out beautifully--my parents love it! The team at Diablo Lawnscape was super responsive, communicated clearly, and was very knowledgeable. Jared delivered on everything he promised, on or ahead of time. He even came by over Memorial Day weekend to fix an old sprinkler valve that wouldn't shut off. The whole project was finished ahead of schedule, and we are really happy with the results. read more

Jared and his team did an amazing job in our backyard in a very short time. We had gotten pavers installed by another company but still needed irrigation and sod installed as well as some mulch along our fence line. His team finished the whole thing in about 3 days and it looks awesome. We finally have a real backyard again for the kids and dog and everyone is happy with the result! read more

Jared and his crew did a fabulous job on our landscape. We are very happy with it. Highly recommend!

I finally decided to transform my front lawn ( mostly weed patch). Fast response from Jarod to my initial inquiry. Jarod's ideas and experience produced a more natural look and feel to my front yard garden, ie using boulders instead of retaining walls, and he has a vast knowledge of appropriate plants to suggest along with my favorites. Took the time to consult with my designer (Nicole at Pools & Patios) and with me to construct a colorful Ca garden that requires little upkeep from me (83 yrs.) and is exactly what I envisioned. His workers are amazing, on time, work constantly, and are friendly and respectful. He also stays on budget. 5 out of 5. read more

Reached out and got an appointment scheduled over the phone and email but they no showed after I took a half day off to be at the house for the appointment. Called them, left a VM, and sent an email for a reschedule - I know things can happen, etc. Zero response. I was very focused on using them since they are a local business in the same town and I believe in supporting local businesses as a sales executive that works in Tech. Sadly, and my fault, I did not have another landscape company readily lined up but did my research and found one. After scheduling them, reviewing what I wanted to do, etc. I brought them in to do the work several weeks later and spent a large 6 figure sum to make my back yard gorgeous. Look for someone else. If they cannot respond to emails and voice mails for reschedules then they most likely would not have done good work on the project. read more

Jared and his crew have done landscaping jobs for me over several years now and I have been very happy with all of them. First they re-graded my yard and built a stone retaining wall which I love. They also put in a lawn, which I later switched out to artificial grass mostly for maintenance and irrigation reasons, but both were great. They've also laid a cobblestone patio which turned out beautifully and then completely redid all the plantings in my backyard. I've been very happy with all the work they've done for me, and as a result, I enjoy my backyard a lot. read more

I had him do a big project but at the end of the job he failed miserably and never was able to complete the job. He was supposed to add chicken wire to all plants so they wont grow out of control but of course his workers waited for me to leave the house so i wouldn't notice it when they planted the plants. Later i removed some of the plants and found that he never added the wires like I wanted and paid for. When he did the dripping system and the lights on the gazebo they ran AC wires and the dripping hose right next to each other which caused the wires to get damaged. when I called him to see why it was done that way he never returned my call or emails and when he did return my call a month later he was very unprofessional and said thats how its done. Good luck getting a hold of him for any reason. Don't waste your hard owed money on this contractor that don't deserve it. read more

I contacted Diablo Lawnscape because of a referral. Great referral! Jared listened carefully to my desires and provided a detailed estimate. I like the details because it tends to eliminate surprises after the job. The owner, Jared, and his team were on time, friendly, and the work was fantastic. Jared even helped out with some tree trimming efforts which were not in the original estimate. He is flexible. Our job was to convert a drought-stricken lawn into a nice, planted area with crushed granite. We also wanted it all to be on a drip system and replace the other established plants with a new drip system. In addition, I needed a new back gate installed. A couple of plants didn't make the transition and the team was quick to respond with new plants. There are more details I could share about the materials and unique designs that were used and more details about what the team did to resolve an underground leaking drainage pipe, but this note would be too lengthy. Suffice it to say that I would definitely recommend Diablo Lawnscape! Attached is a before, during, and current photo. read more

We were extremely pleased with Diablo Lawnscape. In fact, I'd have to say that our expectations were exceeded. Personal attention, expertise and quality workmanship were the hallmarks of the service that Jared provided. Manuel's guidance and daily supervision of the crew was outstanding. Jared and his crew revamped my landscaping in 2021. I was thrilled with the results. Now, a year later, I am more pleased with my yard. I wanted to transform my landscaping for years but was stuck on how to proceed. I shared my ideas and thoughts with Jared who was able to pull together an estimate for me. Abraham and his crew are very skilled. I relied on their input to help turn my thoughts and ideas into reality. Before, my yard and landscaping had limited functionality. Now, my yard is beautiful and I feel I've gained an additional living space at my house. The job included hardscape, pavers, irrigation revamp, turf, lighting and plants. A year later, the plants have filled in and look amazing. If you are looking for someone to take your ideas and put them into place, give Jared a call. read more

Jared and his team definitely know what they are doing. I watched a neighbors installation go in and saw their meticulous attention to detail, which led to my seeking their services. an Estimate request and appointment were met with timely responses and a very fairly priced estimate. The scope of our project required a landscape architect which Jared also helped with by providing a reference at a very reasonable price. While I'll admit it was frustrating at times trying to obtain feedback and replies early in the process, if you can exercise patience and realize that this is the busiest time of the season for landscapers, you'll be rewarded in the end. Once your project is within @ 2 weeks of the projected start, then you'll have Jared's full attention. Abraham, Antonio, Prenacio, Osvaldo, Miguel and others are magicians! Take time to say "hi" to them in Spanish or English as they speak both very well. They scraped graded and excavated our old backyard and installed an extensive irrigation system, overcoming obstacles along the way while able to stay within the budget. The speed at which they accomplish things is incredible. Additionally, they were amenable to changes on the fly, some late planting and lighting additions, and helped solve some other existing irrigation problems. If something wasn't quite as desired, it was simply redone or fixed to meet our expectations without any qualms. The installation also provided for future irrigation expansion and additional lighting to come in a future project. Lastly, Jared spent a significant amount of time to walk through the property and explain operation of all systems, offering up advice for care and maintenance going forward. We are extremely satisfied with our new backyard Oasis and owe much of it to Diablo Lawnscape! Thanks Jared and Team read more

My back yard was a mess!!! When I decided to put the house on the market, I could not repair that mess with anyone other than Jared at Diablo Lawnscape. I have know Jared for many years. When I first came to Clayton, he used to mow my grass. That was 15 years ago. I was able to give Jared basic direction on what I needed in the back yard and he ran with it. He produced the most aesthetically pleasing water-less, mow-less space. Buyers seeing my house on the market are complimenting the symmetry and peacefullness of the design. Needless to say, I am very pleased. In my opinion, Jared sold this house. read more

Jared and his team took our backyard, which was an overgrown mess, and turned it into something we are both proud of and can relax in. The quality of his work, attention to detail, and ability to pull a project together is exceptional. More importantly, I trust Jared. He communicates well and always felt as if he gave me options at a fair price to consider. I never felt as if he was trying to sell me anything but instead was part of the journey to get us where we wanted to go within the budget we were working with. He was a partner. All of that said, we now have a backyard that we love to be in. I have recommended Jared and his team to my neighbors and friends and will continue to do so. read more

What can I say. Jared came highly recommended and boy did he deliver. We'd been wanting to redo our backyard forever and when we finally decided to pull the trigger, Jared's team really came together for us. He took our draft vision and really made it shine. From the clearing and grubbing to the concrete, plants, turf, and irrigation it looks fantastic. I trusted him to bring in the plants and they look amazing. Due to the weather, we did get a little close to our deadline for a graduation party, but we made it. Jared even was able to clean up the front yard in time too. Prices were great, and Jared didn't charge for some little extras I asked for on the fly, which I totally expected him to and would have happily paid for. Everyone who's seen the yard loves it and we've already used it more in the past 3 weeks than in the prior 19 years combined. Thanks Jared! read more

The design and execution of our new patio, pergola/gazebo, and flagstones around our fountain exceeded all of our expectations. Jared's crew - Abraham, Victor, and Mikey - took apart our 30-year old gazebo and redwood deck in one day, prepped the area for the new patio in another couple days, carefully laid a new patio that curves around our backyard trees and other plants, and installed a great new gazebo, including new electrical outlets. Everything they did was done carefully and with wonderful craftsmanship. The stone work fitting in the pavers on our new raised patio is excellent, and our new 12' by 14' gazebo is awesome. The crew was friendly and very open to questions and requests. This is the second project the Diablo Lawnscape has done for us, and we would hire them again if we had another project. read more

We had a great experience with Jared and Jennifer at Diablo Lawnscape! Jared helped us decide on the design and re-landscaping of our front yard lawn area that had been taken out during the water shortage of a few years ago. Jared replaced the former grassy area with a new sprinkler system, new sod and planted areas at the corners where the grass always dried out and died in the past. He also redesigned and re-planted several of our existing, but outdated, planter areas with fresh new plants and new landscape boulders. He also added 3/4 inch gravel ground cover in all of our front planters. It looks great and doesn't get messy when our trees continue to drop leaves during the past few weeks since the gravel color matches the color of the leaves that drop from the trees! This was one our biggest worries and Jared solved it with this solution (instead of using a dark colored mulch). Jared also replaced our old sprinkler timer with a new, updated, easy to use version. Finally, he added up-lights and a new timer on three large, mature trees in the front yard. His team was really nice and considerate, cleaning up everyday after their work was finished. We couldn't be happier with the process and the beautiful results! We would highly recommend Diablo Lawnscape. We love our new front yard! read more

We had work done many times before and it was usually great work. But for more then two months we couldn't get an actual date to have the same service plus a little more done at all. Jared and his team did a fantastic job enhancing our backyard with flagstones. While I agree it was tricky to communicate -- that was merely because his company is so busy! We worked with a designer who recommended Jared of Diablo Lawnscape to do the landscaping for the front and back yards. He and his crew followed the design, but were also flexible with changes we requested as the work went along. The work started on the day promised, and was completed on time. Each day the crew did a great job cleaning up and the work was high quality and thorough. Jared and Jennifer are easy to work with and conduct business with a high degree of integrity and accountability. The estimates were precise and professionally presented. Thia contractor re-landscaped our front yard -- about three thousand square feet. Their cost was competitive, and, when they showed up, the work was prompt and quality was satisfactory. "Omar" was their lead worker on-site, and Omar's expertise and customer service attitude were refreshing. BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE?... In this area, business owners Jared and Jennifer have much to improve upon. We waited DAYS for responses to our inquiries by voicemail or email -- unless the inquiry concerned a payment we were ready to make. Also, the principals didn't seem very knowledgeable about the plants or about the type of drought-tolerant landscaping we requested. WE CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR. read more
