The cashier was extremely rude. Right off the bat he was about to let another gentleman but me in line even though I was first in line. I had to pay $17 and some change in and the rest on my card and the card wasn't working so I kindly asked to remove one of the two bags of soil. He was huffing and puffing the entire time and I was being polite the whole time as well. As soon as I got my receipt, I moved out of the way very quickly. Then he said sorry for the wait to the man behind me and then the man said yeah it probably should be easier- basically it's passive aggressive commentary about me so they were both gaining up on me and being extremely rude for no reason, it's really pathetic how ignorant people can be when they have no idea what kind of health condition a person might be dealing with. I could be dying with cancer, and I do have a traumatic brain injury and am starving and barely surviving single mom. If I had a bunch of items to ring up, then it would've taken much longer. It didn't even take that long, so they were just being extremely rude for no reason I'm going to call and get the gentleman's name so I can make a complaint because it's very unacceptable and wrong. read more

In ancient Chinese culture, a beach vacation is not complete without a visit to the local Ace Hardware store. And boy was this store the cream of the crop. But first, we had to create an excuse to visit this Mecca of hardware stores. Upon arriving at our beachside Airbnb, we found the shower too luxurious with great water pressure and nice hot water. So we naturally had to tamper with the showerhead until it broke. So with a broken showerhead in hand. And a heart full of excitement. We arrived at this 8th wonder after a morning detour to go kayaking. Dressed in our Saturday best of swim trunks and tank tops, we wandered the aisles in wonderment and awe. Their selection of showerheads were simply magnificent. This Ace Hardware store may have set the bar too high. And we'll never again feel this level of happiness. But so goes the double-edged sword of finding perfection. Well maybe it wasn't perfect. They need all their barcodes to scan properly. But this certainly doesn't take too much away from an experience and story we'll be passing down our family tree for generations to come. read more

I have been going to this hardware for the last 5 years, more since I retired and have many projects. The staff is very helpful, if they are out of a product they will call their other stores. I've returned items to the store with no problem. I give it 5 stars for being the good neighborhood hardware store for me. read more

Came in to get some paint. The woman at the front pages someone but after waiting ten minutes with no one in sight I left. By far the worst location in the area. I should have gone to my regular location. Definitely not coming back here as they never seem to have more than one person ever working in the store. read more

We use this Ace store all the time because the staff is so knowledgable and the customer service is superior. Plus they carry specialty items big box stores don't. And yesterday they proved their value to the max. I'd decided on a grill for my son and his wife for Christmas. The clerk in the store was very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me towards the right model and most helpful tools to use with it. Yesterday was the big delivery day, but there was a huge storm. Nevertheless the store came through for me, delivering on time and setting it up so it all worked perfectly for the ideal Christmas surprise. They've more than earned our loyalty and we recommend them unhesitatingly! read more

It is no wonder Lowes and Home Depot dominate the hardware industry, they open early and they open on time. If you say you are going to open at 8 am, which in my opinion is way late for an industry who's laborers start early if you want a piece of the construction end, open at 8.. this past weekend 03/12 On Saturday or Sunday, I returned to the store in Sarasota I have shopped in for over 20 years. 4231 Tamiami Trail Sarasota 34231. I was returning about 14 dollars of (4) items one defective and , buying about 25.00 in product. I had a guy named either Aaron or Ryan work with me on a simple return. Though your return process is painful and designed to discourage returns and doesnt take into consideration the customer, it was 20 min of paper paper paper paper. After which he starts to review each item and suggest he may not be able to return them. I mentioned that i shop here often, that the item in question was defective and still in your ace wrapper and that I just want to exchange and spend more. He said well this will take longer if you want to do that. I said this isnt worth it.. he said I could leave if I want then decided I was not being patient enough with him and walked off saying that he would have to get someone else to help me. A few minutes later the manager Jaleah, came up and swiftly and professionally, did the exchange. That guy Aaron Ryan whatever his name is should be removed from ANY customer interactions and out of customer contact. I haven't seen anyone who acted so dismissive, not interested in helping, or my business and for that matter just plain un-professional. He must have been a relative as I concluded by body language, that this manager was some how forced to put up with this child and lousy attitude. Must be an owners son.. ? there are plenty of people out there who would love to have his position and represent your company in the proper manner as Jaleah did.
