We did not have a doula with our first child, so we were not really sure exactly what to look for, however Olivia provided us with some good resources and even recommended some other doulas for us to interview. However, after meeting and interviewing her once we knew she would be a great fit, and we are very glad we did! Our baby came unexpectedly early (our first child was 11 days late), and thankfully we were able to fit a quick refresher course in with Olivia the day before the baby was born. Before, during, and after labor Olivia was magnificent. She is rare in that she is both very productive and very calm and pleasant at the same time. She respected our wishes at all times while also providing appropriate and helpful advice and feedback when we needed it. We are so glad that she was with us, and recommend her very highly to anyone else considering her services!

This was our first birth and we weren't sure if we needed to hire a doula since we had been mentally prepping ourself since the beginning of pregnancy. After our initial meet up, we felt an immediate sense of comfort with Olivia and could picture her on delivery day. We booked her that evening and we are so grateful to have her help us achieve the birth that we envisioned. She provided us peace in the unknown territory and guided us with her wisdom and knowledge. She met us a couple of times in our home (despite the long distance) to help us prepare for labor and delivery. Don't think twice about having Olivia with you on one of the most important day of your life. We are so happy with how ours went that we will have her with us again for our next baby.

They are knowledgeable, emotionally supportive, and genuinely caring. They made me feel safe and respected the entire time. They have solutions for everything and did so well educating me on health, nutrition, my body, pregnancy, and the delivery process. Every part of my experience with them felt intentional and thoughtful, from the amazing childbirth classes with Brooke, to their newborn specialist Diana who was such a huge support after delivery. Anita was always so helpful and kind as well. I always felt listened to, never rushed, and like I mattered to them. They went above and beyond for me in ways I'll never forget, and because of them I had not just one, but two of the most beautiful birth experiences I could have EVER imagined. I've never felt as safe and loved as I did here. I truly don't know how I would've survived without them. I feel beyond blessed to have found this birth center. They changed my life and I will forever be grateful.

This was my first home birth experience. As a patient I should be able to ask questions, express fears, in hopes to gain knowledge and reassurance back from my midwife. A few days later, I get a call from them saying they can no longer see me and think a hospital birth would be more fitting. Mind you, I am 31 weeks pregnant. Healthy pregnancy, no reason for a hospital birth. All I did was ask what they do in an instance of a mother bleeding too much, or tearing ect. They not only pocketed $1600 from me, but dropped me high and dry so late into my pregnancy because I asked what do they do in a "what if" instance were to happen. As mothers, and going the unmedicated home birth route, or even a birthing center route, we should be allowed and welcomed to talk about these types of things with our midwife. I am absolutely shocked from the care we have received from them and how we were so poorly managed. They claim they're a faith based Christian center, but I see no grace, compassion, or anything Christian about how we were handled. Mothers, please find somewhere else. Would hate for you to express or even ask a simple question and they take your money and drop you.

Our doula, Kathy Abbate Voigtsberger, was so integral to the relative smoothness of both of my labors and deliveries, and my ability to follow my birth plans as much as possible. During the birth of Parker I swear she was the reason my labor was onl...y 12 hours and not significantly longer. Parker wasn't engaging even though my body was doing what it needed to be, and Kathy suggested one particular method that very quickly moved me to the next stage of labor. It was smooth sailing from there. During Tatum's birth, Kathy helped me stay firm in interactions with a less-than-accommodating triage nurse. She also kept me grounded and focused during transition and pushing. We didn't know till she came out but Tatum was sunny side up, and that made transition and pushing so much more painful and difficult than it was with Parker. She partnered with Tony Kellogg to empower me throughout. And when Tatum had to be seen by the NICU team in our room immediately after delivery, she helped keep me calm and focused while I waited to see her. For sure my midwives were amazing teammates and helped give me the experience I was hoping for through both births, but Kathy was the real MVP! Couldn't be more grateful to have found her.

My one start is mostly for her babysitting service for my 4 month old boy. On the two occasions we had her babysit our boy, we found her to be negligent with the baby. First, she would let my baby cry and not attend to him. My husband had to call her to let her know baby was crying. Second she used a phone and iPad on a 4 month old baby. We as parent have zero screen time for our boy and plan to keep it that way until he is 2 years old. Both of these incidents happened the two times we used her service. If you are looking for a decent babysitter you are better off avoiding her.

So many options when it comes to midwives. I'm so thankful that my friend recommended Becky, at Dallas Birth. Becky offered customized care, consistent support, and was always professional while maintaining the perfect level of relatability and tenderness. I felt safe with Becky; her level of expertise was always reassuring. Becky helped me to have the birth I wanted; a birth where I was in control, supported, and adequately monitored to ensure that baby and I were healthy and progressing in the right direction. I plan to use Dallas Birth Midwifery again, should I get pregnant again. You won't regret choosing them!!

My pregnancy with my first was an overall good experience-but left me feeling a bit like a number and not a person. This pregnancy, I had so much more energy and felt much less anxious-and I owe it all to Becky's support and encouragement. "Normal" pregnancy symptoms weren't over looked and she had recommendations and cared to help me navigate every step. The way she listened and educated was really empowering and healing in and of itself. We had hour (or longer) visits and access to talk with Becky between visits in an online portal-which gave no time for concerns to fester. The way she cared for me (and my 2 year old) at each visit really surpassed expectations and I always left motivated and excited for the next visit. Being truly cared for in a medical setting is not common. All of this resulted in the easiest and quickest labor which was a huge answered prayer. She is intentional, very knowledgeable, and hilarious. Every pregnant mama needs a Becky! We were a little nervous about the cost initially-but the value and services included make Dallas Birth really a great value. So many things were included that we paid out of pocket for our first-lactation services, placenta encapsulation, birth tub, birth classes, pregnancy teas, and probably a lot more that I'm not thinking of or didn't need. And we can submit a claim to insurance after to get reimbursed. I also loved that I didn't have to research different services-Becky takes care of everything.
