I would absolutely not recommend this company. I purchased a special machine with a bundle package that was supposed to be delivered in a few weeks. After two months, I had still not received any information about receiving my machine and kept getting the runaround when I would contact the company. only when I disputed the charge with my bank did I find out that they ordered the machine the next day and had it within two days. After receiving the machine, I canceled the dispute, but I still have not received a embroidery hoop that was supposed to be coming with my machine. The bundle also included a 10 piece pack of embroidery threads. The 10 spools of thread that I received were not only the brand that was promised, but five of them were duplicates in color. This has been the most unprofessional experience that I could have imagined when ordering such an expensive machine. They again like previous reviews never gave any explanation nor have they even tried to reach out to complete my bundle. At this point, I have received the expensive machine so I am just writing off the rest of the cost as a loss. This company is not reputable and when I have mentioned to another machine location that I ordered a machine and had not received it, the clerk picked out the store by name without me saying any further. Not a good reputation to have in a community where there are many options of stores. I really wish I could reach out to the company representatives for my machine who deal with this company and would encourage them to have no further dealing with this sewing place. I do not recommend ordering a machine with this company, they will take your money and cease communication. I ordered a machine January 17th and was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks. I called at the 3 week mark and was told it would be another week. Called at the four week mark and was told to call the next day. Call the next day (saturday) and am told they were never provided shipping information, then Elias changed the story to they were provided tracking but it was only notions. We call back wanting to cancel and talk to Gail who lets us know we cannot cancel the order no exceptions per the policy and someone will update us. No one updates us and we call back that afternoon and speak to Gail again. Gail tells us that actually they got the machine we paid for in but they sold it and don't know when they will be able to get more. She then reminds us that they don't do refunds. At this point we send an email stating how unhappy we are and the email is ignored. No one ever responds to it or reaches out. At this point we decide we are not going to chase them anymore and file a chargeback with our CC company. We still hear absolutely nothing for a month, until yesterday when we receive a text that they have the machine in stock. My husband picks it up today and they offered absolutely 0 apology for the lack of communication, selling the machine we originally ordered or the 2 month wait. They will happily take your money, but once they have it they have 0 interest in providing good customer service, and will only get your product in once they recieve notice of the chargeback being filed. I will never buy from them again. I wish I had scrolled through the Google reviews initially before shopping with them to save myself the headache. read more

I have spent a lot of money here. I do not recommend anyone to pay for any purchases up front. I purchased a Q 24 with Q Matic machine on January 9 2025 it's been 1 year and 4 months and I still haven't received it. Jessica will not answer phone calls or text messages. So as of 5 pm today March 31 2026 I am filling embezzlement charges embezzlement charges on Jessica and Stitchhouse. She cannot keep treating people like this. I was very patient with her for a long time she always said it's on back order but when I contacted Bernina they said they haven't had any back orders. So that was all lies and she makes her employees lie for her. This has to stop. I want buy any else from her. Very disappointed customer!!!!!! Extremely unprofessional company. Avoid doing business with them. I ordered a sewing table online and paid $300 extra for White Glove in-home delivery and setup, plus $200 for shipping. Despite paying for this service, the 340-pound sewing table was simply dropped outside my front door in 17-degree winter weather. When I contacted the manager, Elias at Stitchhouse, he told me they had received an email a few days earlier stating that the white glove service was not available. However, no one from Stitchhouse ever contacted me to inform me that the service I paid for would not be provided. They still allowed the order to proceed and charged me for it. Leaving a 340-pound piece of furniture outside in freezing weather after charging for in-home delivery and setup is completely unacceptable. I asked Elias to have the owner of Stitchhouse call me directly. It has now been over a week and I have received no call. This level of customer service and accountability is extremely disappointing. Once they have your money, it appears they have little concern for honoring the services they promised or addressing serious problems with an order. Started a "Block of the Month" class in which participant provides all the material & supplies. Registered online. First & second month were $10 each. Went to register for the 3rd month and the price had gone up to $55! No warning, no explanation, no fine print when I initially registered, and no changes to the class. It is by far not worth $55. The worst customer service ever! I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before placing a $1200 order. I placed an order 7/3/25 and by 8/4/25 it hadn't arrived. I spent over a week calling and had to leave multiple messages but no one called me back. When I did get a person on the phone I was told I'd get a call back but did not. After 10 days of this I contacted my credit card company and had the charge reversed. Do not buy from this company! Service is so awful. I should have learned my lesson a few years ago when I brought my machine in for service. Maddy and jessica were so disorganized and staff could not tell me accurately any tat for my machine. Always an excuse. I have a machine there now and a tat of 2 weeks is now 4 for a basic tune up and a knife that will take extra "time and money" if they need to order the part. Which I am sure will cost 400% over retail to replace. Save your time and money and go to another repair shop for your machine. They seem to only care about slinging heavy hitter machines than anything else. Read the google reviews, the last two years the service has tanked. They need one human dedicated to answering messages and emails for machines in the shop. They also need competent front desk staff to take machines when you drop them off. It took two older women 20 minutes to process my machine drop off which I don't imagine should take someone 5 minutes to expedite. It's wild this place is still in business. The owner has time to make fb videos and updates on socials but is not interested in the basic level of customer care required to sustain a business long term. Won't go back. Save yourself the trouble of chasing a human down to get updates about your machine. read more

I went to their new store (location) for an Apparel Sewing Class. It was 70.00 for 2 hours. I drove 45 minutes in bad traffic, paying tolls. The instructor was a very elderly lady whose speech was hard to hear and understand. When I signed up, I answered their questions and asked what to bring. I said I was an intermediate sewer and they said to bring just my sewing machine. The class latest only 1 hr. They showed me how to install an invisible zipper using their invisible zipper foot and gave me an illegible handout, how to grade seams and understitch (which I already knew) and took my measurements. So I paid 70.00 plus the cost of the zipper for 1 hour. Was told to come back with a pattern and fabric for a simple dress or skirt and pay another 70.00. This was the most disappointing sewing class I've ever taken. A pure waste of money and time read more

I ordered a HandiQuilter ProStitcher Lite for my HandiQuilter Moxie in April 2023. After weeks of waiting and waiting, I called and was told they finally got "it" in, so I made the 45-minute-plus drive to pick it up. I got home with it and didn't have time to check it. had to go out of state for several weeks before I could even look at it, so finally unboxed it when I returned, but still hadn't removed the packaging from all the parts. I looked at a few tutorials on how to install it, and thought about it some more, but I still didn't install it. I let several months go by and finally contacted a newer HandiQuilter dealer to come and install it for me. Turns out StitchHouse substituted a Janome unit rather than the HQ brand that I bought. The installer NOT FROM STITCHHOUSE did a great job despite this issue, contacting his tech support to resolve issues, but even though these units are considered universal, I could still have issues, and if so, I could end up getting the runaround from both manufacturers. I have also learned that STITCHHOUSE has LOST THEIR HANDIQUILTER FRANCHISE/DEALERSHIP. I met several of the people taking on the new HANDIQUILTER franchise/dealership in Dallas at the Dallas Quilt Show last week, and I am looking forward to doing business with them. I am also aware that I am not the only person to be so duped by STITCHHOUSE in this manner. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH STITCHHOUSE AGAIN! read more

I took off work and was looking forward to the class. I checked on the calendar the week before and it was on the calendar. I called the day before the class and was told it changed to the next weekend. She asked if I got a call? I did not. And I cannot take off work again. In February I spoke to a sales person about the Bernina 790 Pro. I was told they still had few left with the special package included. I was led to believed they were in stock. When I later called to purchase it, I was told it wasn't actually in stock, but would be in the first of March. I put $6000 down, even though the sales person said Jess liked to have the full amount down. I said I would pay remainder when I picked it up. That was February 14. On March 10th after sending a text, I was told I was number 13 in line, hopefully they would have more in soon. That was the last response I had regarding when it might come in. On May 18th I went into shop to cancel my order. I was told Jess was in the back and she would decide what to do and call me back on Tuesday. In spite if calling to leave messages and emailing and texting, I never received any information about my refund. I am so sad and upset that I was treated this way by a company I trusted and respected. After 3 months of no machine, I finally contacted my credit card company to start a dispute and received my money back. Jessica, the owner is young and obviously has a lot to learn about customer service and customer retention. Stitchhouse has lost me as a customer and they did nothing to try and stop this.I have been a loyal Bernina customer for over 30 years and will continue to purchase their products, however not at Stitchhouse. I see through reviews this is not something that just happened to me. She has left others without machines they ordered and has failed to return phone calls. It is a common complaint recently. I would advise anyone considering a major purchase from Stitchhouse to be sure the item they want is available, or to leave the minimum down. Or better yet, find another dealer as there are other Bernina dealers in the area that order items with nothing down. read more

Wonderful place. Nice, roomy and well lit. I went for a Brother 2-day class. This store is 45 minutes away from my home. I can tell you it was worth every driving mile and the tolls. All the staff was very friendly and warm. They employ people of all ages and their customers are all ages as well. One employee was a sharp 80 year old. The fabric was on sale for 30% off which is unheard of except at Christmas at other shops like this. They even had a few ethnic fabric. You don't have to take your machines to classes either. Awesome place, 2 nice lounge places and nice restrooms. My friends and I will continue to visit. Two come from Fort Worth and I come from Arlington. read more

I just picked up my machines - both a sewing only and a sewing/embroidery machine - which had been taken in for tune-ups and cleaning. I called ahead and placed my machines on the list as there was a 6 week wait. About a week ahead of the date I called and was told I could bring my machines in any time now.. so I did. I received a text when each machine was moved to the technician's table.. and another text when that machine was complete. I have collected both machines and both are operating perfectly. GRANTED waiting for 6 weeks for a repair is annoying when you are in the middle of a project. If that is the case I would always call around to see what other shops are available for repair. But if you can schedule a tune-up and cleaning why not? Keep your machines in top shape. This is a busy shop and most of the people who work there are highly knowledgeable and very helpful. read more

Do not take your machine to Stitch House for repairs. They had my machine for almost 3 months and it was never repaired. They kept saying the part had not arrived. When it was finally ready I went to pick it up and found out they didn't replace the part. Instead they just bent it back into place. It took 3 months to bend the part back in place???? I even filed a complaint with Brother and found out they had sent Stitch House the part, Stitch House didn't receive it. When ordered again they still didn't receive it. Yet Stitch House never contacted Brother to find out why they were not receiving the parts. The owner would also benefit from some training in providing customer services. Avoid this place! Do your research and you will see this is a common problem. read more

My first experience with Stitch House was a gift certificate from my husband at Christmas. He was charged the $100 but never got the certificate. I called to check on it and it was not in the computer. After many attempts by phone, I went in person with a copy of the credit card receipt and was given my credit. I should have learned but they have a huge inventory that I was pleased to see. I got a mailer about a Fun Friday event with free food, prizes and machines on Quilt Market pricing sale. I went and found they were giving a good trade in for my Janome 3700 that had a known manufacturer defect toward what I thought was a new Janome M7. It was a great deal so I bought it. When I got the machine home, I found that it was used and missing several parts--machine feet, wrong foot pedal, etc. I sent an email that did not get answered so I called and a girl named "Lisa" took the information and mailed me what she thought I needed. I still had the wrong foot pedal (now I had two of the same wrong pedal) and was still missing a foot that I really use. I went in person to return the wrong pedal (luckily I took my owner's manual) and even the repair technician's were unaware of the pedal problem but were able to order the correct one from reading my manual. I explained the problem with the missing foot and was given one that they said was what I was missing. I got home and it was the wrong one. I made another trip out (again with my manual) and explained the problem. This time, I was given a different foot and told this was correct. Without my machine it looked right but I got it home and it still was incorrect. It worked on my machine for a different purpose but was not the one I was supposed to get. By this time, I was so frustrated, I ordered the foot I needed from an online sewing machine parts company and paid another $50 out of my pocket. I love the machine but was disappointed it wasn't new and with all of the trips I had to make to get the parts right. While I was going through all of these trips, I went for my free class to learn the machine and the teacher knew less than I did about the machine. In fact, she thanked me for teaching her things. Through all of these visits, no one ever learned my name or greeted me until I sought out help from them. Since I drive 20 miles one way to get there, it is not worth the time or gas to go for crummy service. read more

Took my Brother DreamMachine in for service in May, got it back in July. Got a call from Paul (the service technician) telling me I should NEVER use prewound bobbins; that I should be using bobbins wound with Finishing Touch thread. Told me my bobbins were causing the stitches to skip, etc. Told him my machine was NOT skipping stitches and he very RUDELY asked me why I brought it in. With almost $15,000 invested in the machine I brought it in for cleaning, etc. Like a yearly checkup. Got the machine home and all the settings I use were changed. Tension all messed up and bottom thread coming up into top stitches. Machine hasn't worked right since. Just took it into another machine repair shop and will be out another $200 for yet another problem that did not exist before PAUL got ahold of it. Not pleased at all with their service and will not go back for any reason. read more

I ordered a Handi quilter Longarm in April, and they were going to hold it for me until I was ready for it to be installed. I called beginning of august, and was told they didn't have it yet, but it was ready to ship and I would get a call back the next day. 4 weeks of calling, I finally spoke with the order guy, who NOW tells me there's a problem, but he doesn't know what it is - but he'll call me back tomorrow. 2 more weeks of being run around, and I emailed Handi quilter directly, to find that not only was there no machine on order, but none COULD be ordered because they lost there dealership the month before. I went in person to get my money back (almost $30,000), and was 'assured' they could get me a machine another way, but I wouldn't believe anyone there if they told me the sky was blue. Finally got a check for the full amount, but I still can't figure what they were playing at. Avoid this place!! read more

1 review I have been a loyal Bernina owner since 1981 thanks to Jacque W. who sold me my first machine. I've followed her to Dallas and Plano locations through the years and never had a complaint. The opening of The Stitch House at Sew Dallas brought more sewing machine brands and personnel. I bought a new machine and embroidery module at this store and haven't had a complaint to this point. However, I am now very frustrated and sad with the service I received on an issue my sewing machine and embroidery module had. Upon dropping them off on October 1, I was told it would be 6 weeks before the techs would get to my machines. Disappointed to be without them for that long stretch of time, I left them for the service anyway. Something is seriously wrong with this situation. Why can I spend $6,000+ and have to wait six weeks for repair? Is this Unreasonable? It seems to me that the store is more concerned with selling new machines and offering horrible support. (Of course, there is more $ in sales than repair.) Did the new people bite off more than they can chew? I believe they have. I was excited to see another sewing and quilting store in Plano, but was very disappointed. There were some beautiful fabrics, but very expensive. I did not see any cotton quilting thread. The entire back area of the store has long-arms lined up like soldiers. At first I was excited to see the long-arms and the possibility of renting one or the idea of having a long-arm quilting service, but was disappointed to find out that the long-arms are not for rent or service, and only used for group functions. read more
