Decent Mexican panaderia ..that also sells food ...stopped in while charging and had a chicharon quesadilla ...they cooked this in an interesting style ..rather than a tortilla ..it's cooked with a thicker masa type tortilla ..loaded with good Mexican cheese ...and some chicharon ...was great tasting ..more than enough to share with two ...friendly service and reasonable price ...recommend

We have made pit stops at this OG branch of Cream Pan in Tustin over the years. The location of…read morethis well-known Japanese/French bakery was unusual in that it's isolated in a corner of the El Camino Plaza. I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.

I called a few days early and the nice lady told me that there would be plenty and I didnt need to order a cake as long as I come in the morning. I showed up around noon and was happy to see a nice selection in the refrigerated case and more being made in the back. The cake itself was wonderful. It was light and flavorful. It was arranged with colorful fruit and whipped cream decorating the exterior. The cake was a hit at the event and was complimented by all. If you have never been there, the bakery is in the middle of a food court. The parking is kind of tight since there are a lot of other business in the strip mall including a Northgate market and a indoor retail market. Dont be deterred. It is worth it!

I was introduced to this delightfully beautiful cake from my neighbor and I recently came to order it for my own kid's birthday. It was an absolutely hit with my kid & family members! The small size ($40) can easily feed 8-10 people. It's loaded with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and layered with a thin sponge cake, cream, and puff pastry. I love the crispy, crunchy texture and the not-so-sweet cake and creamy whipped cream. Just note this fruit cake is the most popular cake they make. This is what they're known for. You don't need to order ahead. They seem to always have the sheet fruit cake available. You just come and select your size. Bring this gorgeous cake to your next party!

Perhaps one of my new fave dessert shops. It's a bummer it's so far from me, but I'm glad to have…read morediscovered it. I got the ube tiramisu and a few cookies. My goodness were they amazing! I had to stop myself from inhaling the delicious sweet treats. This is a micro bakery located inside a foodhall. Do yourself a favor and check this place out next time you're in OC. I know I'll sure be back!

I was excited to try this Asian inspired dessert shop located in the 4th St Market but the hours…read moreare a bit sporadic so I finally made it out recently. Santa Ana downtown is all metered street parking so be prepared to pay for parking. The stand is located right in front of the market so it isn't too hard to find. It's in the market so there's open seating and can get quite loud if there's a lot of people. Unfortunately, I was greeted very poorly when I got here. No one was available to help and periodically she would yell over to see if I was ready to order in a very bad tone. When I asked about the cheesecake selection, she said "you have to wait 30 min." I then asked what flavor it is and she said "pandan pineapple" in an annoyed tone. I asked if there were any other flavors and she said "no because I still need to decorate. You should really come later at night." I'm used to bakeries selling out later in the day but I guess it's opposite here. As if it couldn't get worse, I asked her if there are any coffees she recommended, and she said "viet coffee." I then said viet coffee is usually too strong for me and asked if there were any other recommendations and she doubled down and used a horrible tone to say "I already said I recommend the viet coffee." Therefore I opted to just not order coffee at this time. I ended up still ordering 2 cookies: miso toffee which was too firm and the ube coconut which actually was well balanced and had a nice coconut filling. I really hope they improve their customer service.

The outer layer…read morehad a very nice crisp to it, the pistachios complement very well, and overall this was absolutely satisfying to eat. It had the perfect level of crunch and flakiness to it while maintaining a consistent pistachio filling. Best part is that the pistachio wasn't overwhelming and did not overtake the whole croissant. The workers were nice and friendly and the experience overall was great! Will be coming back when I'm in the area.

WHY DOES THIS BAKERY HAVE A 4.5+ RATING?…read more This is our first visit. Clearly the pastries are a very high level of quality and french cuisine. We had breakfast - an omelette, some bacon and lamb sausage, potatoes, and a cappuccino. we also had some pastries. All excellently prepared. We're going to try something else besides the omelette next time...it was OK but not "out of the park" so we'll try something else next week. Service - after we ordered at the counter our food was delivered to the table which are all located outside on a well-shaded patio. We always split our dishes - my wife and I can't eat an entire plate of food. It's not "table service" - they don't come back and check you or help with water or drinks, etc. Whatever you want you must return to the counter. But service at the counter is very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is an outdoor cafe....noisy neighbors, wind when it blows, dogs, all the regular stuff - good seating and umbrellas with some areas naturally shaded...lots of tables relative to the size of the shop. Very friendly staff. Why do my reviews get over 1,000 views every time we visit a new place? We don't know but it seems consistent. We feature very critical reviews - we rate high but include serious critiques. Maybe that's it.
