Really straightforward to make an appointment for a Dexa Scan. Walked in and was taken back immediately and was done within 15min, as advertised! The technician went over my results, emailed them to me, and made suggestions. It's great to have more data about my health and to have some actionable tips to help nudge me in the right direction. One thing that it still a bit odd is I know nothing about the person who helped me out during the scan. She didn't introduce herself at all - what's her name? What are her credentials? A little bit of a background would have been nice. read more

Even though he had a packed schedule, I didn't feel rushed and he took the time to explain our results thoroughly and answer our questions. I wish I came here sooner to find out what my body composition and understand my metabolism! The tests are quick and the data is very detailed. This is an excellent facility with knowledgeable and caring staff. It's a great resource for tools to help with your health and fitness goals. This is one of the few places that has RMR testing which I really needed to help determine my caloric deficit. Will definitely be returning periodically for further assessments. read more

I cannot recommend this facility. I'm someone who takes training very seriously, and after three VO2 tests here, I've wasted over $500. My first test seemed fine, but the second one was a complete joke. The bike was set up wrong and the calibration was so off that I was pedaling incredibly fast with zero power. The results were completely inaccurate. I gave them another chance and rescheduled. This time, it was the exact opposite problem. The power was set so high that the test only lasted 5 minutes, resulting in a 10-point drop in my VO2. After consulting with multiple doctors and another lab and sending over daily training metrics, they all confirmed my the numbers from this Dexafit location are definitely off. It's a huge bummer because it's so close to my home, but I won't be coming back and I advise others to go elsewhere. Also this could be a problem with there bike set up so I can't speak for the tred. read more

Sean was great to work with. I was pleasantly surprised by my Zone 2 range... but not my VO2 max reading lol. He provided good insight into the factors that determine these and other scores along with what I can do to improve them. I will definitely go back to test again, but not for a while... I gotta hit the gym. Wearables are great: I wear both a fitness tracker watch and ring, but they are definitely not the most accurate... I was satisfied with them to use as a baseline. But now, having done both the VO2 max and RMR tests at DexaFit, I have a clearer picture of where my numbers are so that I can better dial in the kind of exercise and exertion needed to improve my fitness more efficiently. read more

Very professional and cool place to get data about your health, especially muscles, bone density, body fat, and metabolic rate. Lore was the professional (and a real nutritionist!) who helped me with the DEXA scan. It took about 15-20 minutes total and I was able to get a full report on my whole body. It was very cool to see where I can improve in my workout and get a more accurate reading about my fat vs muscle ratio. I even got to see a printout of my skeleton! Apparently 80% of their clients are professional athletes but plenty of normal people like me go as well. I definitely recommend getting one before you start your workout journey so you can see where you improve throughout. Located in the business area near John Wayne and plenty of parking. Their building is near the sky circle stop sign. Their staff was really nice too and they have workout classes as well. read more

Awesome lab. First, I was running late, because of who I am as a person. Sayuri took my call and graciously assured me that I was going to be just fine, even if I arrived 15 minutes late. I really appreciated how cordial and reassuring she was, especially since I didn't deserve that grace period! Second, Sean, fellow Anteater grad from UCI (zot zot!) was fantastically motivating while I exerted one of the hardest runs I've ever done in my life. VO2 Max test is no joke! Clear, professional, and the markings of a great motivational coach; I couldn't ask for much more. Sean really knew his stuff and constantly kept me in the loop as to what my rising VO2 levels were throughout the test. He gave me the average fail rate: Level 5. I tried my best to beat said Level 5, but with 1 minute left to go to advance to Level 6, I couldn't do it! I probably could have lasted 10 more seconds at most. Room for improvement next time. All in all, a great positive experience, and I would recommend this lab to anybody that is looking to maximize their athletic development with practical, actionable data. I signed up for a VO2 max test with Lore. The online appointment was super easy to do. Upon arriving, I had to fill out some easy paperwork (less than 2 min) and Lore took me in the exam room. She was meticulous to explain everything that would happen beforehand and what the results would mean. She fit me for a mask (which I got to keep for future tests) and then I got on the treadmill. She controls the speed and incline. I walked for 2 minutes and then began the test. At 2 minute intervals, she increased the speed and incline, starting at 5 speed and 2 incline (I think). As you run, she sees what your VO2 max is and if you continue to climb, you keep running. Once you've maxed out, you do a 2 min cool down (she offered water and a towel) and then you review the results in the office. The cost was $160 and a total of 30ish minutes. I learned what my actual heart rate zones are, when lactic acid starts to appear during exertion and of course my VO2 max. Highly recommend but know that the test is hard! You can either test standard or as an athlete. I am an athlete so my test is harder than standard. read more

Amazing! I called in the morning to check into getting a DEXA scan. They were able to fit me in early afternoon same day. They emailed some forms which were easy to fill out. I showed up, filled out another quick form because I was a first time customer, and then they took me back. The actual scan took about 5-6 mins. The guy went over it with me and then said he could print and/or email the results. He was nonjudgmental about my results. I paid (10% discount for being new!) and that was it. Highly recommend! They were super nice and accommodating. We'll probably go again if we ever get a response to our request that they resend my wife's resulted with her profile, not some random man's. During the testing the technician, who again was super nice had my weight 70 pounds more than what I actually weigh. The tech insisted that it did not make a difference in the actual results. While she was showing us my wife's profile and resents, I noticed that it was a man's profile, but supposedly my wife's results. She made the adjustment and assured us that it had no influence on the actual results being shared with us. When my wife received her emails results, it again has the profile of a man. We have reached out and asked that they resend the proper profile for my wife and have yet to hear back from them. read more

I scheduled an appointment for three tests in one day; dexa scan, RMR, and VO2 max. I could get them done all in one day back to back so that made scheduling easy. The facility is located in a business park. I was greeted by Melina and Jacob. Both were friendly and helpful. My Dexa scan was about 10-15 mins and it's like the gold standard in testing body mass percentages. Next up was the RMR which was super easy. You just sit and rest with a mask on your face. This details your calories used when you're at a resting state. The VO 2 max was also with a mask and you are on a treadmill that starts at a walking pace and increases in incline and speed every minute. I had a fun time gaining my metrics and Melina emailed me my scores with the offer to ask any questions regarding fitness or nutrition after my visit.
