Honestly it was difficult to choose a flavor because there's so many I wanted to try!! Luckily you can get half and half. But I wanna talk about the one with prosciutto and fig jam. GET THIS. It's such a delicious flavor and not that common as a pizza. One of the best flavors I've ever tried, and that's saying a lot having had pizza from New York and Chicago. Prices are reasonable too. And if I could take a bottle of their sundried tomato vinaigrette home, I would. Everything is fresh and rich at the same time! I always leave Dewey's satisfied. I also love that they have a seasonal salad to keep things new. I always struggle to decide which salad to order because I feel as though you couldn't go wrong with any of them. However what would make my score for their salads to be an 11/10 is if they included a bread-crust-type bread stick with the salad. Alright the pizza - everything is done correctly. The cheese to sauce to topping ratio? Balanced. Buttery crust that's not too thick or thin? Goldilocks would say it's juuuuuust right. Fresh ingredients that look as though they were washed and chopped right before the pizza went in the oven? You betcha! I try to avoid pizza as much as possible, due to dietary restrictions. However I have NEVER turned down a slice of Dewey's pizza... Every bite is worth it. Also- If you have never experienced Dewey's pizza with a side of ranch, do it. I dare you. In regards to the atmosphere and service: I love it! Everyone is always hustling and bustling, the kitchen is in full operation (and you can see it through the window), and the kitchen door never stops swinging from servers carrying out pizzas/salads/drinks. However even with all this movement, I still have always experienced slow service. And it might be due to this large volume of orders... and trust me, it is worth the wait. But I could use a refill while I'm waiting more often than I receive one. Plus it may be my fault that I always go when I'm starving. ANYWAYS, they do their best with their volume and I've never felt judged for the crazy modifications made to my salad or pizza. This used to be my favorite Deweys location, but it has gone downhill quite a bit since the pandemic. The last two times I've eaten there in 2020 and 2021, the service has been good, but the pizza has been inedible. More specifically, the pizza is undercooked and doughy, which is an achievement with Deweys style of thin crust pizza. In my opinion, undercooked pizza is absolutely vomit-inducing and this is unfortunate because Deweys is *chefs kiss* when they are on their game. I will not be returning to this location again. I'm no stranger to Dewey's Pizza. I've eaten at various Dewey's locations easily a dozen times or so dating back to my college days in the early 2000's. Despite attending the University of Cincinnati, I'm pretty sure last Saturday's visit to their Clifton location was my first time there. In the past you could find me at Harper's Point or Newport on the Levee. Recently I've made attempts to dine in to the Oakley location, but it is always so crowded, and we end up with ordering carry-out instead. After the UC basketball game on Saturday afternoon a large group of my in-laws decided to meet for a victory celebration. We tried to call ahead to get a reservation but quickly found out that no tables are held, even for large groups. As soon as one member of our party arrived they put our name in and they surprisingly had a table ready for us within ten minutes of my arrival. I was expecting a party of our size to have at least a 45 minute wait, if not longer, on Saturday night. My wife and I started with a regular sized house salad ($7.95). This is a very large salad, easily enough for two to share. It combines field greens with toasted pine nuts, sun-dried cranberries and goat cheese. The mix is then tossed with Dewey's own house dressing (balsamic vinaigrette). It is just as delicious as it sounds with a nice combination of nutty, fruity, and peppery flavors. Another excellent salad choice is the candied walnut & grape, which combines field greens with candied walnuts, red grapes and Gorgonzola cheese, tossed with Dewey's citrus basil vinaigrette. Our group ordered a variety of pizzas. Our choice for our end of the table was the Green Lantern pizza with red sauce, light mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, mushrooms, goat cheese, artichokes, and pesto (17" $21.45). This could possibly be my favorite pizza of theirs. The gourmet style pizza is covered in fresh toppings. The combination of pesto with the creamy goat cheese was awesome! Dewey's crust is also exceptionally good. In addition to the Green Lantern I also recommend the Bronx Bomber and the Southwest BBQ Chicken pizzas. Truthfully you cannot go wrong though. I just don't understand how Dewey's gets it sooooo right ALL THE TIME! My boyfriend and I came in at around 5:30pm on a Thursday afternoon. The place was only about half full so we were immediately seated at a booth. I'd have to say that all the servers were extra friendly making us feel very welcomed. It put us in a very happy and pizza-excited mood. We ordered a 13" pizza half Green Lantern and half Edgar Allan Poe with proscuitto. Let me tell you. There is little else in the world that feels as good as that first bite of Dewey's pizza! Seriously, the flavors just burst in your mouth - the savory cheese, rich sauces, fresh ingredients, and pizza crust perfection magically mix together to create what feels like pizza heaven. They also feature a seasonal pizza that's usually worth trying. And, of course, there's also create your own, which gives you a million different toppings and even choice of sauce. They also have out-of-this-world salads! About eight years ago, I hated salads. They were bland and sometimes even yucky. But then I tried Dewey's Grape and Candied Walnut and my life was changed. You also have the option of adding chicken to any salad. Also, I can't remember the name of the seasonal salad that's on the menu in the fall, but it's pretty fantastic - bacon, figs and Boursin cheese. It's usually worth asking what they have for dessert because each location has something different based on what sweet places are nearby. On my most recent visit, they had carrot cake from The Bonbonnerie. On my most recent trip home I visited this location twice in the same week. Both times we had very solid service. read more

I've come here a few times since I was a wee freshman at UC, but today I discovered their Wild Mushroom pizza. Mushroom lovers -- this is your calling, you need to try this at least once before you die. There are 3 (4?) types of mushrooms COVERED on a garlic-moz-fontina bedding, with some extra sprinkles of red pepper. Man, do they go well together! That's the great thing about Dewey's, the flavors complement each other so well, so you really can't go wrong with any of their specialty pizzas. My other favorites include Green Lantern, because I can't say "no" to artichokes, and Ryan's Inferno + ranch. The only thing that sort of bothers me is that there's a really thick crust -- don't get me wrong, it's well baked, but I'd prefer more toppings over two inches of dough. For reference, the 17" can probably feed 3 grown adults comfortably (but I personally love cold pizza leftovers). Another plus: Dewey's truly prides itself on being Cincinnati-born, even carrying desserts from local bakeries, like BonBonerie. But then, I tried the Wild mushroom and seriously people, it was the best pizza i've ever eaten in my life. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the meats. I will eat any meat I can get my hands on - but these mushrooms must have been sent down and blessed by the gods because woah. The capers are a perfect touch and add the perfect amount of saltiness to the rest of the toppings. Seriously, I am not sure I can ever come here again and not order this pizza, it's just that damn good!! The harvest salad (seasonal and still on the menu in January -- YAY!) is my favorite, although I do wish they'd put a tad more dressing on top. Usually restaurants overdress, but Dewey's is cautious and could use a little more. I guess less is better than more, in this case! As for the pizza, one bite everybody knows the rules, the dough is handmade in house as you can see them making it through windows into the kitchen and is good with a nice crust. Soooo happy I came here for dinner! I was craving pizza and this was one of the restaurants I hadn't tried yet. A short 3 minute drive from where my bf and I live is a plus. We were greeted by a really nice waitress who explained the menu to us and a few of her favorites. Everything sounded delish! But we decided to get custom calzones....sooo good! The dough was fluffy yet crispy in the outside and it wasnt bland. You get to choose up to 3 toppings which is perfect. The calzone is so flavorful that I even forgot I had the marinara sauce. However the highlight of my experience here was the Harvest Salad (Field Greens with fresh Figs, Applewood Bacon, Pumpkin Seeds, and Boursin Cheese tossed with Apple Cider Honey Vinaigrette.) I dont know what Boursin cheese is since I've never had it but ohh boyyy! I want it in all my salads...So soft and creamy! It was such a great mix of ingredients! The crispy, salty bacon, the sweet figs, the sweet dressing and the pumpkin seeds complemented eachother so well, I was truly impressed. I am happy I opted for a different salad, so sad that its seasonal lol. Overall, awesome experience at Deweys! I will be back for some more and maybe next time I'll try the pizza :) read more

Sitting at the bar is a nice option, although the awkward shape makes for some funky corners and unusable spaces. Dewey's tends to under cook their pizza. Came here for a movie meetup.com group and ordered the walnut and grape salad 2/ chicken and tried a couple slices of hawaiian pizza. The salad was amazing! The pizza was very good too, the crust was just perfect. The general atmosphere in here is pretty noisy, I could hardly hear the waiters and waitresses. Their pizza is tasty if you're into fire cooked style pizza with unique ingredients. I've tried the caprice, green lantern and Edgar Allen Poe. The caprice is very sweet from the tomatoes and the cheese is incredibly smooth and tasty. The green lantern is my fav though! The pesto and artichokes make it a really yummy option for vegetarians and it's filling as well. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because I think their prices are too high for the sizes. It's a chain and ingredients aren't organic or all locally sourced so I don't see the need for $16 for an 11in imo. read more

This is my go to pizza place. It's just down the street from me - which is dangerous. In general I'm not much of a crust person and throw it away, but Dewey's is definitely different. I eat everything on this pizza. My favorite pizza here is the Ryan's Inferno (a play on buffalo chicken). The house salad is also a must. They have interesting pizza toppings and put out seasonal specials that I always recommend trying. The food alone would earn 5 stars, but I had to take away 1 star because often times this place is packed (because the food is delicious). Parking is an issue and the estimated wait time isn't always correct for carry out. Unfortunately they don't provide delivery either. If you go to the Dewey's knowing to expect this though, the food is definitely worth the wait! read more

The parking lot has also been enlarged and is accessible off of Hosea making this one of the most convenient places to eat in Clifton if you're driving. If you haven't ever, try a salad and ask for croutons! They have some of the best salads but given all of the yummy pizza and calzone options, often can get overlooked! Use NoWait, enjoy a parking spot, have a beer while you wait for your seat, and start with a salad. read more

Holy wow, this is some good pizza. I also had their "seasonal" salad, the harvest salad, and was mighty impressed. The pizza I had (Socrates Revenge) was delicious, and their extensive menu of yummy-sounding pies pretty much ensures that I'll be back for another go at it. We were there on a UC game night, and the place was slammed. Even at 5:30 we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, although in all fairness we were a party of 11. Still, it was nice that we could buy beers at the bar and drink them while we waited. I was impressed with their craft beer selection - a Bell's seasonal, Left Hand's Milk Stout (one of my faves), and a couple of other goodies including Dewey's own house brew. My one complaint was the service - not that it was bad, but that it was...jumbled. Our server offered to split our checks (hella nice of him, and I tipped accordingly), but it was hard for him to keep track of things because *other* servers kept coming by and taking drink orders. I guess that's their MO, and it did make the beers come faster, but I felt bad for our poor waiter when we had to ask that the bills be re-calculated because beers had been put on the wrong check, etc. The Clifton locale is cute, and I'm looking forward to checking out the Deweys (Deweyses?) in Oakley and Newport, too. read more

Dear Dewey's NEVER STOP EXISTING! I would die without this place. We all have those cravings where we are like, "Man I could really go for some ____ right now." And all our friends punch us because we always want to go there. This is that place for me. If anyone wants pizza especially, I scream out Dewey's! Dewey's is the best pizza in Cincinnati. Bar none. They offer just about anything and everything you could ever want. Besides being super flexible they are original and delicious! My boyfriend and I usually do a split of the Original and the Caprice. The Caprice is white sauce based with yummy garlic, tomatoes, and fresh basil on top. Their red sauce is delicious! I usually order light sauce or no sauce anywhere else but this place does it right. Not to herby, or sweet. It is perfectly balanced. The toppings are all fresh, and don't feel or look like they have been rotting all day in bins, again like other places. They also have some pretty kick ass salad's. Not a huge salad fan, but I will stop in for lunch and pick up their bacon, parmesean salad with peppercorn ranch, or whatever their seasonal salad is and it is always exceptional. This place seriously does everything right, every time. Which I find odd, because I am kind of a stickler when it comes to food, but this place has yet to disappoint! I likes my pizza. And Dewey's is becoming a favorite. I went to this location with a group from work last week and it great! We went at about 1:00, which is on the later end for lunch, but I'm so glad we did because there was hardly anyone else in the dining room. I created my own calzone on this visit, because I'd never done it before (chicken, pesto, spinach, and the 3 cheese blend). It was sooo good. They baked it perfectly, and the pizza sauce for dipping was a great complement. I also had half of the house salad, which had a delicious viniagrette. I think it was a balsamic dressing. If the delicious food wasn't enough, our server looked like Emma Stone. Dead ringer! She was so nice, as was just about everyone else there that afternoon. I am admittedly not a pizza fanatic, but when I find myself in the midst of spunky and deliciously baked pizza my taste buds take over. Dewey's Pizza is self proclaimed "thin crust" but I personally think there defining point is their position between thick and thin crust (just right). Their medium crusted pizzas are prepared expertly with the best ingredients from the soft (inside) and crispy (outside) bread to the generous and artfully mixed toppings. The Edgar Allen Poe is AMAZING! Fresh tomatoes, fontina, goat cheese, and loads of fresh garlic make this pizza full of flavor and not full of grease. You can make your own pizza with a long list of veggies, cheeses, and proteins or try one of their seasonal specials (currently a taco-flavor inspired pizza). Additionally they have good salads (Cesar, Greek with fresh croutons) and a calzone list. Cheap bottles of red wine ($28 for a Napa Cab) and a list of craft beers keep this place jumping, and it's no wonder there will likely be a wait on the weekends! read more

Do you like goat cheese? Then you'll love Dewey's. Whoever this Dewey person was, he must have been a huge fan of goat cheese, because it's featured on maybe 50% of the menu! The salads are an awesome balance of flavors and textures. I would def come here just for the house salad! But why do that when the pizza is so great? Pizza........ah the unknown food group of most kids in America and one of my favorite, though I don't partake in it as much as I use to, Dewey's is a little place I had lunch at before I left the fine (albeit not going anywhere) city of Cincinnati. Located near University of Cincinnati and Burnett Woods (don't go there at night unless you want to get attacked....), this sits on a cute little street called Ludlow and has many things to do and see in such a small section of street. Dewey's pizza is good, though this establish has always felt sterile to me in décor as well as the hired help which are probably many, if not all, college students, so service continues to be average to poor for the 20+ times I've been there over the 3 years I've been associated with that town. There as multiple location of this eatery throughout the area and the menus are consistent across those locations. Beer selection is good. Personally, I like the Hyde Park location better, but then again I ate at that one more than this establishment. NOTE: If you drive, go to the back of the building at the end of the street...there is a free parking lot you can use when dining, thus saving money on meters on the street. read more

I went to Dewey's three times in one week. If the frequency of my visits are any indication, you could easily make the case that I really like Dewey's. Having just moved to Cincinnati, I'm getting to know all the Cinci favorites. And Dewey's is pretty much the hands-down favorite of all the locals I've spoken to. And it's quickly becoming the only pizza joint I'm willing to shell out money for. Crust: Thin crust. It's my favorite kind of crust, and Dewey's is appropriately thin but still crusty enough that it's the perfect vehicle to get their delicious toppings in your mouth. Toppings: Their specialty pizzas are all pretty awesome - the flavor combinations range from classical (Bronx Bomber - red sauce and the combination pizza toppings like pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, olives) to Socrates, Edgar Allan Poe, etc (which are white sauce-based) - they've all been pretty darn delicious. Choice: They let you do 1/2 one type of pizza and another 1/2 of any other kind. You get to taste two kinds of pizza for the price of one! Salads: They're reasonably priced, large portions, and also really good. The seasonal salad I had was the strawberry macadamia nut salad during the summer. I'd never heard of such a combination, and the sweetness and the nuttiness paired perfectly with the baby spinach leaves and whatever dressing they had. I almost wish it were still summer so I could have that salad again; I'd even brave the humidity again. Beer: They have about 8 beers on tap that are micro-brewed locally, and they're all fairly tasty. And $5 for a frosty glass of microbrewed beer is downright a steal from where I come from! I find that you either are a "Dewey's person" or you aren't. I am!! I fell in love ever since I went to UC. My all time favorite- and I rarely stray- is a Pepperoni calzone- no ricotta, side peppercorn ranch salad and a coke. I could say with some confidence this might be one of my "last meal" options.
