Do NOT take your car in for servicing. I'd say worst service ever, but that would imply I received any service. Nobody ever answers the phone in the service department so I had to drive there. Took 6 days for them to make an appointment to look at my car. Then they keep my car for 3 days with no phone calls. So I called them. They didn't answer. Again. I had to leave a voice message. When they finally called back the guy literally said he had no idea when they would even look at my car. Not fix it, just no time table to even look at it. To recap, they gave me an appointment, had me drop off my car, and then they expect me to just leave it there until who knows when. No, I think I'll just go anywhere else. I wouldn't trust these clowns to mop my floors let alone work on my car. read more

Once I got there, there was a line going into the bay area and the lady told me it was an hour and a half to two hours. I told her that I had an appointment and she said they are behind. Service department is awful. They explained their service system to me on the phone and I experienced it first hand. When you get there at your scheduled time, you then talk to a service manager and he let's you know about how long it'll take, depending on their work flow. They don't start on your car at the scheduled time. When you schedule an appointment for 9, that's only the time you drop off your car. It only means they'll work on your vehicle sometime that day. read more

We called on a Monday regarding a newly listed car (no pictures listed, yet). Scott Peterson told me the car had a check-engine light code, 4x4! code, oil leaks, and trunk would not open. He said, likely, Dewey Ford would put the car up for auction. He claimed he was being honest with me and saving me the trouble of making an hours long drive to purchase a car that was unfit. We called back on Tuesday since the car was still listed. Scott said the mechanic evaluated the car. Scott stated that Dewey Ford would not sell a car in this condition and tarnish their reputation. On Wednesday, the car was listed with full photos including the illuminated instrument panel with none of the above codes. The car was immaculate. We called back. Andy and Casey told me about a check engine light and would send more pictures. Later in the day we learned the car was out for a test drive and ultimately sold. read more

We bought a new 2020 Escape in April. We noticed a small leak in our garage at the rear of the car 4 months later. As we only had 700 miles on the vehicle we took it in to be looked at. They told us it needed a new rear axle!! We scheduled an appointment. As we live 30 miles from the dealership we asked for a loaner. We were told first come first serve. Not wanting to get stuck there we drove 2 cars. Only to be told they won't be able to get to it at the schedule time. At first they couldn't find the part. When they did find one they neglected to get the bolts needed to install. They have now had the vehicle 3 weeks and no repair completed yet. Additionally they do not call or return calls made to them. Unsure how we will proceed. But I would definitely not recommend this place. Certainly beware of their service. read more

We ordered a new vehicle from Dewey Ford for which we were required to leave a deposit. The vehicle arrived at the dealership 5 months later just at the time I was having major orthopedic surgery. I was told by our salesman that Dewey Ford would work with us and to not be concerned ,but when it came down to it the dealership threatened to sell the vehicle out from under us and not only would we lose a vehicle that was in high demand, we would lose our deposit. The day after arriving home from the hospital we had to travel 120 miles round trip to Dewey Ford to complete the purchase. After this horrible customer service experience with them I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In dealing with the staff at Dewey we found that all 5 of the employees we had contact with outright lied to us and also in their response to the BBB complaint. The Dewey Ford motto, "We Treat You Better", couldn't be further from the truth. read more

Clearly they are very busy- which means many customers are probably satisfied here. But not convenient, fast or at all a positive experience. If you're looking for routine maintenance, clear your calendar and bring something to do while you wait. They do have WiFi. read more

I recently purchased a used F-150 from Dewey Ford in Ankeny and I would NOT recommend buying a vehicle from Dewey. The customer service was awful and the sales manager was borderline disrespectful. Read through your agreemeent closely because they tried to add $500 to the cost that was previously negotiated. When I pointed it out, they said "oh, that's our bad we forgot to take it out". The salesman assured me my truck had been fully serviced only to find out later that the back tire has a slow leak, the windshield washer fluid was empty with the low light coming on, the truck was not cleaned well and had dust all over and the moonroof was foggy, and the oil life gauge shows oil life at 36%. The salesman would not text me back and when I finally spoke with him, he said the service department must have forgot to reset the oil gauge in the truck and they must have used a lot of windshield wiper fluid during test drives. The saleman promised to send me the service records and talk to his sales manager about what could be done with the tire but I still have not heard back from him. On top of that, there are issues with the 4 wheel drive that I now have to take to another Ford dealership to get fixed. This is all within the first 2-3 weeks of owning the truck. The salesman has been unresponsive and I shared these concerns back to Dewey when they sent me an email about getting my truck serviced there but still have not heard anything back. Terrible experience and will never purchase a vehicle from Dewey again. Dewey is more concerned about getting your money than having a good customer experience. read more

Spent forever negotiating a price for my trade with Dan. After almost two weeks, he agreed to my original terms. I advised I would pick up the car on Wednesday. Dan advised someone else wanted the car and could get it on Saturday, and unless I could get there sooner they would sell it to them, regardless if I put a deposit down or not. I understand the whole first come first served, but I could have picked up the car days earlier had they not taken so long to negotiate, only to then back out of the deal. I recently had a passenger side airbag recall notice for my car, so I called Dewey Ford to set up an appointment to have it serviced. I spoke with a service representative named Ernie and he couldn't have been more helpful. We scheduled a time for my car to be dropped off and he set up a shuttle from the dealership to my house, then after my car got done being serviced he sent a shuttle to come pick me up and take me to the dealership, all complimentary of Dewey Ford. Overall the service I received was top of the line and I will definitely be back to have my vehicle serviced there again and to purchase a car in the near future. read more

First of all, the sales department was good, no issues there. I probably could of got a better deal but I wasn't taken for either. They had the truck I wanted and very happy with it's performance, a 2017 Ford Super Duty. Here's what I'm NOT happy with. Paid extra for a protection plan that entailed wheel repair if I scuff or curb a rim etc. I took the truck in for it's first oil change and tire rotation and had just detailed and cleaned the truck and rims the day before. After I got the truck back, a week later when detailing and cleaning the rims again, I noticed a gouge near the center cap on the right rear rim. You can clearly see that someone in the service department took a screwdriver and leveraged it against the chrome rim to pull the center cap off, to get the lug nuts off, to do the tire rotation. Took the truck back and talked to the service department, salesman that I bought the truck from, and the finance guy who verified I had paid for this protection. "We'll call you back to get it taken care of" that was months ago among three individuals and no call back as of yet. Now to the body shop. Again, washing the truck by hand one day and noticed a dent in the bottom underside of the driver's door. Took it to the body shop and "John" I'll call him, said it would be covered under warranty, great! When I picked up the truck the FIRST time, the dent was fixed but the stone chip was completely worse than the other doors and there was a line in the paint where you could see a masking tape line. John actually pulled a piece of stone chip material and paint off the bottom of my door with his hand! He said it would be corrected and I dropped the truck off again for the repairs. The SECOND time I picked the truck up, everything was fixed and actually looked really good. When I opened the door to drive off, the door panel, steering wheel, and center console was filthy and covered in dirt and dust. The driver's seat had two large stains from whoever drove the truck out of the shop. A brand new $50,000 truck that was now way worse than when I dropped it off. I kept my mouth shut fearing I would explode at John and went to Walmart, bought some stain remover and cleaned the interior. Luckily all the stains came out. The door frame and door jamb also had bits and pieces of masking tape still on it that I had to peel off, ridiculous! Now for the THIRD time, the bottom section of the door from the style line down is a darker shade of silver than the rest of the truck. They want me to bring the truck in and try it again. Nope, I'm done. I took the truck to a local body shop (I live in Ames), they said the job Dewey Ford did is horrible and not to risk going back. They know the people that work in the shop and the reputation they have and are a joke. They would just respray it adding extra millimeters of paint which isn't ideal and most likely will still not be right. The local body shop said you can't just paint a section of a panel and expect it too look the same without either blending the paint or painting the entire panel or both which is why my truck is still not fixed and is clearly what Dewey did. Dewey Ford has lost my business, especially in the body and service centers. I actually have one "free" oil change and rotation but don't trust them to even have handle that. My advice, if you can get a good deal purchasing a vehicle then that's great. DO NOT buy any extra warranties and stay away from the service and body shops. They have not honored the warranty I have already paid for the rim repair. I've worked really hard and have not had a nice new vehicle in 15 years. They have totally ruined my new vehicle experience and if this is there idea of "treating you better", than I want no part of it. read more

I purchased a new car from Dewey Ford and they sent my loan payoff to the wrong bank, refused to believe that they had done so, and refused to investigate where the money had actually gone. When they finally paid off my loan 60 days later, they got to do so for $186 less (the payoff amount was less because I had to keep making payments on a car they now owned) and they pocketed that amount. That says nothing of the extra interest I had to pay while they were refusing to help. I have been trying to get a hold of and leaving message for multiple people in their finance department for over a month, and have not received a call back. read more

I brought my car in for a scheduled oil change appointment and it had ZERO mechanical problems and was leaking no fluids whatsoever, but when my appointment was over the tech told me that it was "gushing" coolant, how is that possible when it didn't even leave a puddle in your service entrance when I dropped it off? I got no apologies and I received no explanation other than it "might" be the radiator, but they could "diagnose" it for a service fee. My wife and I bought a used vehicle last August 18 at the time of sale we signed all the paperwork and after all is signed we were told that vehicle had only one remote (keys) and to get a second set we should take the vehicle ourselves to get that done.I never did ,and after going to the paperwork I realized that I And the salesman signed a legal document where it stated that,me the customer MUST revived 2 set of remotes at the time of delivery (sale) After talking with diferent people I showed up with a copy of the legal document and spoke with Stefani Albert who with great deal of arrogance wouldn't even read the document and told me to call the roadside assistance company and tell them that I lost the key.I told the lady that why would I lied about something I didn't do and they were the ones who lied to us she at this point said how can she be sure that they gave me two sets of keys.I asked her call the salesman who did the deal She wouldn't.I told the lady that I have a problem about laying but obviously she is a dishonest person who has no problem laying to people doing business with Dewey ford Ankeny She finally called a employee with the name Justin Little who very respectfully and very professional took care of the situation and I'll get a second set of keys at no charge.but knowing that Stefani Albert has no integrity bothers me and worst knowing that this woman is the sales manager read more

Let me start out by saying that Stephen C. is a fantastic guy. You want him as your sales guy. He treated me very well and showed a lot of patience. He worked hard to earn my business, even though I can be a bit of a bulldog, and he came down to meet my price point. Ultimately, when another salesman from another lot pulled me from the table and he took my decision to wait one more day to settle the "what ifs" graciously and respectfully, got me to come back the next day to close the deal. I was very happy with that experience. When it came time to transport my new car home, the shuttle driver came by to pick me up after I dropped off my other car and was fantastic. Very friendly. When I got the credit part, however, that is another story. Very persistent in trying to sell me warranties. Then in the process of trying to lower the price to sell me these warranties, the discounts brought the monthly payment quote BELOW the quoted payment from the beginning.... I found out that one of the warranties were already tacked. So thankfully I was able to get him to strip all the warranty extras off the loan. Also part of the negotiations I was given three free oil changes and tire rotations. Looking closer at the purchase agreement and loan agreement it appeared as though I was charged for that particular service package. After a bit he stripped that off as well. Overall it took almost 40 minutes AFTER I was approved and good to go before I was able to sign the correct and necessary paperwork and walk out only purchasing the car itself. Be careful with the financing part of the whole thing. Read everything. Triple check everything. Make sure you are only buying the car and anything you actually agreed to buy. Everything else was a great experience. read more

I took my 2004 F150 in for service and was completely appalled by the unprofessional attitudes of their the Assistant Service Manager, Matt Karnatz, and the Service Director, Kent Kisling. I don't know if these two were just having a bad day or if this type of service is acceptable with Ken Garff Automotive Group. but I will be reaching out to their headquarters in Utah to find out. Either way, they can be certain that I will never do business with them again. You would think that if a guy rolls in with a 2004 F150 with 250,000 miles for an expensive tune up, he might just be trying to decide if he wants to invest more money into a 250K mile vehicle or should he just invest in a new one. Within a matter of seconds of initial conversation, I could tell that "customer service" was not a priority with these guys. Terrible experience so far. Sales people are more pushy than any other dealer I have purchased from. Bought new Ford Escape in May had to call them to get a problem with the Escape serviced. All through the process of calling them to get through to the service department it seemed like I was more an annoyance than a customer they wanted back. I rarely write reviews good or bad about stores and I understand that people can get caught having a trying day, but I doubt I will go back to Dewy ford for another car or for service work. I took my car there to have check for a electrical issue. They had my car for a few days then called me telling me I needed a computer which cost around 800.00 and said it was on two week back order. Dewey charged me three diagnostic fee's. and diagnose it wrong. They also said if it didn't fix the issue I would be charged another diagnostic fee. So I took my vehicle to another dealership to have a second opinion. They found wire shorted to Auto start. I did not need a computer after all. I called them and asked them about the charges and they that corporate would make it right. Have not heard or see anything. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT WOULD GET MY MONEY BACK. It been a couple of weeks now. I went in to talk with them and chatted with the service manager. He said he was going to check on this and get back to me the following Monday. And I have not heard back from him, what a joke. I called the GM and left message a week ago and no response either. I wouldn't let them work on my bicycle! read more

I purchased a 2015 Ford Escape from Dewey. The experience was okay but I was very disappointed with the scam called Ford Financing. The advertised priced on the vehicle included a $500 rebate which required me to use Ford Financing. I kept asking what type of rates Ford offers but didn't get a clear answer until I sat down with Business Manager. He tried to gloss over the terms but I stopped him when I saw 6.1% interest rate. I told him no way and I was ready to walk out. He quickly found me a rate with another lender at 2.3%. I was more than willing to forgo the $500 rebate for the much lower rate and payment. The lower rate option will save me about $2800 in overall cost. Clearly Dewey has an incentive to push these Ford Financing agreements which are a total scam. To charge someone over 2.5 times the market rate on interest is ridiculous. I realize everyone has to make money but Ford should focus more on selling cars and less on selling these absurd loans. I think Dewey could do 2 things to make me happy but failed. 1. They should not have included the rebate in the advertised price. 2. The business manager should have laid out multiple financing options so the customer can choose which option works best for him or her. read more
