Short review: What a great experience. The artists Matt and Derek are definitely top notch. I had a marathon 13 hour day (10 hours of actual tattoo time) with Derek L. and he did amazing work! I highly recommend you visit this shop, especially if you are interested in a custom tattoo. Trust the artists, give them artistic licence and you'll be amazed at what they'll come up with. Devoted Ink is easy to find, has a comfortable shop atmosphere, very clean and very professional. You won't find cursing, big egos or rude attitudes at this shop as these guys try to put their Christian faith in action and simply doing their best each eay. Long story: I've wanted to get a tattoo piece to represent my kids and family for several years but didn't make it a priority until now. I did not want some generic flash off the wall but wanted something that would be unique and meaningful. I know enough about art to know that I should leave it to the artists so I started my search locally. I went to a reputable local shop, put down my deposit and had art drawn up. The artist did not really listen to my ideas and produced art that was very generic, probably traced from stock tattoo flash. I just didn't feel a connection with the artist's work so I (did what everyone should do if you don't feel right about the artist) I kept looking. I'd seen Devoted Ink's website months before but I live about 45 min away. I kept coming back to them in my mind as I am a Christian and they professed to be a Christian tattoo shop. I saw that a new artist, Derek, was in town and I took a long look at the posted portfolios from the shop. I really liked the quality of the linework, the color and shading as well as the overall quality of the art (compostition) as well. The more I looked, the more I was drawn to their quality and focus on custom work. Matt, the owner, worked with me over email to begin with since I was 45 min away. I sent Derek my mish/mash of ideas, paid the deposit and showed for a consult. Derek was great at talking me through the concepts I had and he came up with options for placement, subject matter and reasoning that was like a light bulb coming on for me. We came up with a concept that I felt great about. The more I spoke with him about placement, color, position, and composition the more I realized he really knows what will work and I just told him to do it his way and let his artistic mind go. WOW, I'm glad I did! He created art with his own artistic flair and detail. Derek was considerate and easygoing with a clean workspace and continued attention to detail even when he was obviously fatiguing. 10 hours of tattooing later, I have two pieces with amazing style, color and detail. I got to see the owner, Matt, working on a sleeve as well and his skill, knowledge, and attitude are top notch. I couldn't be happier with the work and I highly recommend Devoted Ink. read more

This was my 2nd visit here. I wish I could rate the piercers and the shop itself separately. Had I been able to do that, Danielle and Hannah did an amazing job, so they would have gotten 5 stars. Sadly, I am not able to do that, and my overall experience was greatly diminished by two of the tattoo artists and the receptionist. The receptionist had an attitude and was pretty condescending. Definitely not suited for a customer service type environment. The two tattoo artists stood at the front desk, knowing 5 people were in the waiting room, and were talked poorly about the the clients they had just had. The female tattoo artist kind of made criticizing what they had came in and told her that they wanted during their consultation (which we experienced, as it took place in the waiting room. The didn't ask for anything crazy or ridiculous). Not very unprofessional, but not a huge deal. The male tattoo artist however, complained and made fun of the young woman he had just finished tattooing. He complained about her moving around a lot, complaining about pain and even made fun of the plans she had for an upcoming hair appointment. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Definitely won't be coming back and risking that kind of ridicule. Not what you would expect from a "Christian" establishment. read more

My cousin moved to Temecula from London and got a tattoo done here, he already had a full sleeve on one arm and got an Americana ship done on his other arm by Jordan Brill. Me, my brother and dad came out to Temecula to visit and after a recommendation for Devoted Ink, I got my third tattoo done, also by Jordan. I was extremely happy, so my dad got booked in the following day for an Americana ship, his first tattoo, it looked incredible. Four days later, my brother is getting his tattoo as I write this, it's looking great so far. Jordan Brill did all of our tattoos and was kind enough to squeeze us in, his skill is amazing and he's a very friendly person. He can do plenty of different designs and has huge amounts talent. All the staff seem lovely. Would absolutely recommend to people wanting their first tattoo or to add to a collection. Really great experience read more

I went in with a basic idea & a picture for a tatoo & Derek Livezey said you know I have some ideas on this to add give me 10-15 min. & I will be right back to show & explain it to you.He said I just want you to have something totally original that noone will have so I told him to go for it & the outcome was amazing indeed. I have had alot of people compliment me on this tatoo so far. I went in and got a septum piercing on Friday. I was so nervous and excited. The piercer was so nice and friendly. She went over the proper ways to clean it and the do's and dont's. She took her time finding the perfect spot and gave me some jewelry options. Once I picked out which one I liked, she sanitized all the supplies and cleaned my nose. She then put the clamp down and pierced it really fast. She kindly asked if I needed a break before inserting the jewelry. I didn't need a break and she slipped the jewelry in and cleaned it some more. It didn't hurt as much as I thought. Overall my experience was great! I'll definitely go back more times. Derek did an amazing job and his work was clean and precise! We were a little nervous about our first tattoo on the wrist but Derek's steady hand and confident skills put us at ease. I decided to get my first tattoo recently ,so I did a lot of research to make sure I got the best tattoo possible. Almost all of the reviews for Devoted Ink were very positive, and for good reason. Everyone in there was extremely pleasant and they made me feel very comfortable. All of my fears about getting a tattoo quickly vanished. The artist that did my tattoo, Johnny, was awesome! He stayed and continued to work on my tattoo even after they closed . Even though mine is not totally finished yet, it looks awesome! I really love it and wish I would have done it sooner! Having visited numerous shops throughout the United States and received work in a few of them, I must state that Devoted Ink, in my opinion, has been my personal favorite experience. Environment is crucial and the moment I stepped into Devoted I felt right at home. I went over to devoted ink today and got a small piece done by Chris Phipps. The shop was easy to find and very cool once I was inside. It was clean and everybody I met was very friendly. Chris was very helpful in finalizing the details of my tattoo and has a light hand. I am extremely happy with the outcome and will definitely be back for more. This shop rocks!!! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I was greeted right away and given the artists's photo books to look at and was able to book an appointment right then. When I came in for my appointment I was welcomed in right away and we got started. The shop is clean and you won't find a bunch of vulgar art on the walls. For those of you who love the tattoo culture but aren't so sure about some of the "worldly" things that go along with that in some shops, this is DEFINITELY the place for you. I went to another tattoo spot before finding Devoted ink. I am so thankful that I didn't give the other place my money. My tattoo is amazing cool and looks great! Andrew Cannon @ Cannon Tattoo is obviously a gifted and experienced artist. Andrew did a beautiful Mountain Laurel memorial tattoo for me, and I can honestly say I could not be happier with it! My husband really likes going to Christian shops, so after chit chatting with them, they told us they were booked and can try and get him in if there is a cancellation. Not only is her work impeccable, but she makes you feel so extremely comfortable and relaxed while you get a needle shoved through your body (which isn't an easy thing to do).
