I saw on the Banter website that there was a special sale of piercing earrings for $20 and free piercing if purchasing a pair of piercing earrings. But the store associate told me she had no idea about the special. Her exact words were "I don't know who put that there!", so I ended up purchasing the cheapest pair of piercing earring that cost $50. But then she added 2 years of warranty and cleaning solution to the sale and said that those were mandatory even though I said we did not need the warranty not the solution. I ended up paying $80 for earlobe piercing that would have only been $20 from looking at the website. I ordered 3 items while they had a 30% off sitewide discount 2 chains and a pendant, 1 box had 1 chain and the other box had the other chain and pendant, the box with the standalone chain was fine on the exterior but the chain was loose on the inside even though there was a small box for it that was open, the other box was not in the best condition and the inside was a disaster with both chain boxes open and the pendant out and the other chain nowhere to be found I'm very upset with the fact I'm missing an entire chain out of my order and how my order was handled either during shipping or just not being prepared right. read more

In fact, she was very short with us and seemed as if we were bothering her. She tried to get us to buy gold earrings instead of the stainless steel for our daughter's ear piercing because of a risk of allergy. I said no and to proceed with the stainless steel. She didn't explain what she was going to do prior to doing it. She also seemed extremely annoyed that my husband wasn't holding my infants head the way she wanted. A simple instruction goes a long way! She included the aftercare in our cost without telling us, she just put it in our bill. I took my 5 month old daughter to get her ears pierced here and was quite nervous because of the reviews but it turned out great. Jay helped us and he was so patient. We took a little break in between ears to wait for her to calm down and he didn't rush us at all. What an traumatic experience! we picked this place for earlobe piercing for our 8 year old daughter because they said both earlobes can get pierced at the same time so it's less stressful for children. What a mistake! While one ear got pierced seemingly smoothly, it's badly bruised all around. Other side went horribly wrong! Guy named Zach positioned tool wrongly and pierced her earlobe vertically and was unable to pull out tool that was stuck in her earlobe. Long story short instead of "less stressful" dual piercing she got pierced 3 times and now has marks from piercing in three spots on one earlobe. I wish I kept my appointment at the other place with highly experienced piercing technicians instead of choosing this place that offered dual piercing and technicians that don't even know how to properly use piercing tools! read more

The last bracelet was over $500 and I exchanged it for a gold chain for my husband costing over $1000. My warranty overlapped by 6 weeks and I was told it could not be renewed. Piercing Pagoda never sent an email about this. I will not be purchasing any jewelry from them in the future. Worst customer service ever, i purchased a pair of 14kt gold diamond earrings for my wife as a Christmas gift, when the package arrived only one earring arrived so i did a return explaining the reason why for the return and shipped it back, waited and waited, called the company to inquire and they said it was being processed for a refund, to my surprise i received the same earring back instead of my money so i called again and they said that i had sent back an incomplete return so again had to explain the whole situation, they said case hd to be escalated to a higher review or something to that effect and that someone would reach out, this all Started before Christmas, we are almost now in February and still have not heard or have a solution, ive called, sent emails and still cant get anyone to address this issue so i can get my refund which is a substantial amount. What and where else can i turn to so this damn company does their job and refund me my money. Horrendous customer service, give run around and dont allow you to speak with anyone higher always have to wait on them to contact you back which they never do. Dont do business with this company. Banter Jewelry (Piercing Pagoda) doesn't honor their warranties. I had purchased an warranty extension in 2021 to cover a gold chain I bought in 2020. It was supposed to allow me to exchange the chain for free if it was damaged or broken until the end of June ,2022. On May 30. 2022 I brought the chain and warranty to the Banter store at Fox Valley, Aurora Illinois, because the clasp was not working right. They looked up my account and pulled out a new identical chain from their show case, but told me i had to pay $150 for the exchange because the price of gold went up the last few months I called Banter Customer Service and they told me by text that my warranty was good and i should be able to exchange it for free. The next day (May 31, 2022) I went back to the store and showed them the texts from Customer Care on my phone. They called the owner who told me that she didn't care what Customer Service had said and that i still had to pay $150 because the price of gold went up, and that it didn't matter if the clasp was broken or not, and that it was the federal government's fault. i left without the exchange. I called Customer Service again, who contacted the store and told me that they no longer make my chain (even though they showed me the exact chain at the store) and that their texts to me had been a "misunderstanding" and the exchange would cost me $150. I have filed complaints against Banter with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General and with the Better Business Bureau. Banter Jewelry no longer honors their warranties read more

Makayla from store #1517 at the Westfield Brandon Mall was extremely rude when I went to go return an item. I've lost my original receipt, granted, but instead of her providing various options with integrity like the other Banter associate provided she refused to help me, but instead continues her conversation with the UPS driver. Luckily, I went to the West Shore Mall location where a nice associate informed me that my receipt could be in my email. I told her I couldn't find it, she then proceeded with a question and asked do I have another email address that the receipt could've gone to. I checked that email and wala I was able to retrieve the receipt and was granted my refund. That's what you call customer service. Going the extra mile. In between this process, I contacted corporate and along with them and the last associate, they both stated to me that Makayla was being nasty and that she could've granted the refund since the purchase was only two weeks ago and that they see on my acct where I purchased the item along with the hundreds of dollars I spent with the company over a short period. I recommend anyone to go to any other Banter besides store number #1517 at the Westfield Brandon. Or at least do not allow Makayla to assist you. ELISABETH MULERO, store manager is INCREDIBLE. My nine-year-old daughter was afraid to have her ears re-pierced after having a store pierce her ears with the wrong earrings. (She has thick lobes... and needed very specific earrings.) Even-cost us a trip to the emergency room as her earring back became embedded in her ear lobe. In comes piercing pagoda. Elisabeth IMMEDIATELY recognized the problem and explained that my daughter needed long posts for her ears. She has helped us time and time again. Unfortunately today, my daughters horseback riding coach accidentally pulled out her hoop earring as she was tightening her helmet. Elizabeth quickly cleaned my daughters ears and gave us clean and new earrings. I would never, ever, ever recommend anyone else to pierce your ears. We used the Claire's in Richmond Indiana and that was a disaster. She's kind, empathetic and incredibly knowledgeable about piercings, how to clean them and the right type of earring for your child or person. Our daughters both got their ears pierced here since they were babies but my oldest pulled on her earring and it fell out and closed the hole in her ear. For her birthday, she wanted to get her ears re-pierced so we came back here again. This time, they did the clip piercing on both ears at the same time so it was quick, she was upset but it was short lived when she saw how they came out on her. It was sweet, the associates gave her a teddy bear to hold and gave her a book of stickers and a lollipop afterwards. My big issue is that every time we come here, the card machine is down and it takes forever to just pay, so it would have been quicker to just pay with cash but I never carry cash with me. Little did we know that the process would take us an hour and a half, even though there was no one ahead of us. Our piercer left to get coffee TWICE in the process of piercing us, and was very rushed in marking our earrings. Came in to get my second lobe piercings done and I was super happy with the results. I have gotten multiple piercings done at other places but never with a piercing gun so I was a bit skeptical at first on whether or not to to through with it. The person who does the piercings however was very helpful and explained everything really well so I ended up doing it. I was worried about having uneven second piercings, because of horror stories my friends had while getting their piercings done at Claire's, and my worries quickly went away once my piercer started mapping out and dotting the placement so that I could see it afterwards. Overall: the piercings were pretty much painless, customer service to me was a 10/10, and the person that assisted me was very helpful the whole time. They had a large variety of jewelry to select from ranging from $25-70 ish dollars so it was very price friendly for college students like myself (: This is what I can say for the Piercing Pagoda located on the bottom level of the mall at least. She is such a rude person who just seems unmotivated to work by her service. My boyfriend and I went to return two chain necklaces we has just bought a week ago and when we got there she seemed so unhappy about our return. The process took a little while, which we didn't mind the wait but she ended up telling us they could only refund us a certain amount of money. So we returned one necklace and came back the following day to return the following necklace only for her to tell us that we can't return it because we had a return receipt that she gave us. We had our number in the system so we knew she was able to print out our reciept and help us with the return, but she chose not too and instead she began laughing at us that we had brought the wrong reciept that she had gave us.
